Sucks not to see Kourtnei Brown, Josh Keyes and Luke Rhodes on that list…really sucks…
September 3rd, 2016 at 6:11 pm
Only 5 WR? and who is Alan Cross I havent heard his name at all? Talk about flying under the radar.
September 3rd, 2016 at 6:19 pm
Expendables
Wester, Ward, Spencer, Robinson, Lambert, Glanton, Cross or Myers (not both)
And I’d like to somehow go with 2 QBs……don’t care who the backup is.
September 3rd, 2016 at 6:20 pm
Hopefully licht grabs hunter and makes a run at the guard from gb… no need to carry 3 qbs dump Glennon and move on. I suspect 3 changes tomorrow or Monday to this roster
September 3rd, 2016 at 6:22 pm
Tampabaybucfan
Don’t forget ASJ on your expendable list he has to be no less than 3
September 3rd, 2016 at 6:37 pm
Five Smiths. Two Spences.
September 3rd, 2016 at 6:44 pm
Got to grab j d mckissic
Do the reverse dirty on atlanta
September 3rd, 2016 at 6:47 pm
And only one Adjei-Barimah?
Shocking.
September 3rd, 2016 at 6:53 pm
Tmaxcon
If expendables means tradeable then I would add ASJ & Verner to the list….but cutting ASJ would be more than foolish….it would be insane.
September 3rd, 2016 at 6:56 pm
Somebody posting here said it sucks not to have certain guys on the roster? What you smoking?! That’s been the Bucs problem for about 5 yrs..to many mediocre hang ons. Sit in the stands or become a fan if you’re not gonna give 100% towards making the Tampa Bay Bucs winners…period! Personally I do think there is more…cutting edge surgery to done in our Defensive secondary.
WE NEED BALLERS BABY! Besides we all know more cuts are coming after Bucs staff scour the waiver wires.
September 3rd, 2016 at 7:06 pm
we got one guy (Marpet) listed as a guard? 8 total offensive linemen? Is Sweezy eligible to return? and do i only count 5 linebackers? i remember back in the day keeping 10 OL’s and 8 linebackers, but things were different back then.
September 3rd, 2016 at 7:09 pm
There were 682 recent cuts by other teams…..not counting the 15 per team last week….
If we don’t replace at least 2 or 3 of our players with them, then something is dreadfully wrong.
Licht has alredy proven he doesn’t suffer from “draft ego”….by cutting Bell & Vitale along with Edwards & Herron…..so, lets see how he does.
September 3rd, 2016 at 7:10 pm
He also cut Clay…..Licht’s late round picks haven’t turned out so good…..
September 3rd, 2016 at 7:14 pm
Put Griffin on the practice squad and make room for another player. Nobody is going to snag him from us with the preseason he had. Anybody can throw 1TD and 4 INT’s for us later if someone does grab him. We need another good WR at the very least and maybe another good LB. Bring on Atlanta BABY! Go BUCS
September 3rd, 2016 at 7:48 pm
Several receivers cut buy other teams, We better sign one.
September 3rd, 2016 at 7:52 pm
Pretty much what I expected except for keeping only 3 RBs (vs 4) and keeping 10 DLinemen (vs 9). Surprised Barber didn’t make the team … I thought he looked pretty good. Channing Ward came out of no-place (big surprise) but I suspect they’re viewing him as this year’s Will Gholston (raw right now but shows promise for the future). Pretty much the same thing with Leonard Wester. It’ll be interesting to see who the Bucs put on their PS. All in all, this looks like the best 53-man roster to start the season that we’ve had in many years.
September 3rd, 2016 at 8:02 pm
You can’t just place anyone on the practice squad. They have to be eligible. I’m for dumping Mike James for Mack Brown Jr
September 3rd, 2016 at 8:18 pm
lol smh
September 3rd, 2016 at 8:32 pm
I thought Kourtnei might make the team. That being said it goes to show you the team has better depth on the defensive line.
September 3rd, 2016 at 8:32 pm
5 tackles
2 centers
1 OL
1 G
Something aint right with this picture….
September 3rd, 2016 at 8:37 pm
WR Moritz Bohringer was cut by the vikes. His athleticism is awesome if the bucs can find a way to pry him off of their PS.
September 3rd, 2016 at 8:52 pm
Just got off the phone with my sister and her baby daddy is none other than Dexter McCluster, he said he would love to play here. He was gonna come here during free agency but the $ wasn’t right. Jason Licht the ball is in your court
September 3rd, 2016 at 9:09 pm
Green Bay has cut Sam Barrington (too many injuries). Baltimore has cut Justin Forsett (he will be 31 in a few months ) New England has cut Daryl Roberts ( I was pulling for you) Seattle has cut Quayshawn Nealy ( keep trying). These are some local product…Forsett (Mulberry) Roberts and Nealy ( Lakeland). Barrington ( Orlando and USF ).
September 3rd, 2016 at 9:23 pm
McCluster went to Large high.
September 3rd, 2016 at 9:24 pm
*Largo
September 3rd, 2016 at 9:25 pm
Whoa! I see Jameis just made the cutoff at the bottom of the list! (lol, I know it’s alphabetized).
September 3rd, 2016 at 9:27 pm
“Dexter McCluster, said he would love to play here. He was gonna come here during free agency but the $ wasn’t right.”
Well now that he’s cut and looking for work – I imagine the veteran league minimum salary is looking pretty good compared to nothing or whatever the CFL pays… Would still probably be like $7-800k per year.
He already got a $375k roster bonus this spring it looks like and the Titans had to eat a $1.375M cap hit to cut him. They only saved an additional $1.275M in the process. Doesn’t sound like they put much value on his services this year.
I’m sure Licht has already talked with John Robinson about Dexter to get as much info as possible. We’ll see if they bring him in. Not even sure who is returning kickoffs now – I think its rookie Ryan Smith. That would be Dexter’s best shot at drawing interest from the Bucs if there is any – in addition to being the 6th receiver I guess. I’m pretty sure Humphries has the punt return job locked up after the TD return last week and Dexter ain’t taking touches from Doug Martin or Charles Sims in the backfield – that’s pretty much for sure.
September 3rd, 2016 at 9:31 pm
Josh Allen proved to be a good player last year and this preseason, No way they sneak him on to the Practice squad this time around.
September 3rd, 2016 at 9:47 pm

No one in another thread answered this or could answer it..but why was luke Rhodes cut ??? That one did shock me…I thought he had a brilliant preseason and practice..I don’t get that one..
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:10 pm
LifeOfaBucFan – IMO, the bottom line on Rhodes is that they had to find a couple positions to go light on because of keeping 3 QBs and being enamored with the young potential at a couple other spots. So one of those positions was LB where they only kept 5. I think they liked Rhodes and I’d be surprised if he isn’t brought back to the practice squad if he doesn’t get a better offer. But they like Devonte Bond too and he was a draft pick whereas Rhodes was a UDFA. Sometimes that kind of thing comes into play. Glanton is excellent at ST, can play all 3 positions if need be – and also has legit speed. Also – the reason they felt ok only keeping 5 LBs is that Daryl Smith is the starter/#1 back up for all 3 positions. In other words – if either LaVante or Kwon is not available to play for any reason – Daryl Smith will step into either spot as the starter until they ARE available.
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:11 pm
Luke Rhodes missed a ton of tackles against the Redskins. Also he wasn’t versatile enough to play outside. Wasn’t that good on Special Teams, the Bucs are looking for versatile players, who can play multiple positions.
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:17 pm
By my count, there are 10 rookies on the initial 53 man roster.
Hell of a job Jason Licht and Co. !!
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:19 pm
thanks Pickgrin and Lakeland..PS but I think someone will pick him up..
I guess we are nicely stacked…I read this earlier..
“Tampa Bay finished the preseason with 16 sacks, which were the most of any team in the league. Finishing second were the Denver Broncos, who recorded 15 sacks.”
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:21 pm
The Bucs has 10 rookies on their roster and they all can play multiple positions. This is what Dirk Koetter is looking for in players.
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:29 pm
LifeOfABucFan , Dirk Koetter is doing the opposite of Lovie, Dirk want YOUNG players who can play in different schemes and is coachable. While Lovie wanted OLD players who were set in their ways and could fit in his scheme only. Lambert and Ward will be good players, Coach Hayes will coach them up.
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:31 pm
With Rhodes they’re probably hoping to stash him on PS. This also shows how much we expect to be in nickle package. You can almost say, I mean almost, that this defense will look more like a 4-2-5 and occasionally 3-3-5 defense. With guys like J. Smith, N. Spence and H. Jones as edge rushers who would drop back in coverage from time to time. Looking like a hybrid defense.
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:38 pm
Stop worrying about OG people.
They have a center and two tackles that all play OG too.
I can’t believe they many DL and TE are there. That’s crazy.
Add another WR and LB and get rid of of one of each.
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:40 pm
Thanks SoCo and Lakeland…hope he at least goes on the PS…
My emotional side, of course being a mum to boys being these players ages, wanted Kourtnei to stay around..such a nice guy and good player..the same for Josh Keyes who tweeted me Happy Birthday…
Tomorrow will be an interesting day to see if Bucs pick up anyone..
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:45 pm
Sign Reuben Randle. He’s only 25. He torched us last year.
The guy is good!!!!
September 3rd, 2016 at 10:50 pm
We are thin at LB.
September 3rd, 2016 at 11:37 pm
Forsett just cut too
September 4th, 2016 at 12:18 am
Tampabaybucfan Says
“Expendables

I agree. And frankly, I wish Griffin would be the one to go. He’s horrible.
September 4th, 2016 at 12:24 am
Trubucfan22 Says
“Something ain’t right with this picture…”
They cross trained multiple players to cover those positions. That and ou miscounted.
September 4th, 2016 at 7:21 am
Trubucfan22 Says:
“September 3rd, 2016 at 8:37 pm
WR Moritz Bohringer was cut by the vikes. His athleticism is awesome if the bucs can find a way to
pry him off of their PS.”
————————————————————-I’m with you on this. Although lacking experience, I think he brings some intangibles, including an old style German work ethic.
September 4th, 2016 at 8:52 am
I say Cross, Ward, Wester and Spencer are replaced before week one, tomorrow or Tuesday. hopefuly some picked up on practice squad. Just think we can get better depth after league cuts, and at a better price. We should have packaged ASJ with Glennon to the Vikes for a 1st and 4th?
Like on the wire to help with depth immediately:
Dex Mc – Special teams/wr, which Spencer is not special teams returner… DM competeS for 1st qtr of season with Shepard, winner stays
Hunter – love youth, height and speed but needs to develop
Shorts – speed and experience
Mack – who burned us
KingBuc17
September 4th, 2016 at 10:45 am
Dump Glennon now. Our third string QB outplayed him with inferior talent around him.
September 4th, 2016 at 10:47 am
Bring back Courtney Brown who played very well and knows our Defense.
September 4th, 2016 at 12:24 pm
Quit sleeping on Lambert and Ward both of them are better then Kourtney. Film study showed Licht and company. The pressure they cause on the field at the same time got them there job. I seen them both take on 2 linemen and Ward made the tackle on the RB. When have you seen any rookies on our team do that JOE. The read option will kill Brown he too slow. Glanton Keyes and Rhodes are too Slow. I think Banks Robinson and Hargreaves are better for the run support. Grimes and Verner can’t hold the edge on a sweep play. Too small! Remember Champ Bailey! Excellent on the run and that’s what we need our corners to do. A vicious front seven and 2 tackling corners on the edge will free up the safety to wreak havoc. We would not be having any DT problem if Licht kept McDaniel now he’s back on the Seahawks. Ryan Smith is a little hard hitting cornerback not a safety. He wanted to learn from Grimes or Patrick P. So what does that tell you. Corner! Bring back Cassonova.
