“You Can Steal Some Games”

Now is the time for upsets says NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger.

Could the Bucs pull off one of their biggest signature wins in years tomorrow in the Arizona desert?

Sure, if you believe in the any-given-Sunday axiom.

Brian Baldinger of NFL Network has a different timeframe, and that is September, not Sunday.

Appearing on the “Ron and J.P. Show” heard on WDAE-AM 620 this week, Baldinger believes September is the time of the year for upsets.

“The month of September in this league, that is a time when you can steal some games,” Baldinger said.”People are trying to play four quarters, learning how to tackle again, getting their substitutions down and finding what their weaknesses are and how to strengthen them. That’s what it is all about.

“Look, Arizona, with all the speed that they had, New England was able to sort of mitigate it and they couldn’t get the ball over the top of them or behind them. And I think you can learn a great deal from watching the Patriots.

“[The Bucs] are probably going to get Arizona’s best shot after the first one on Sunday night didn’t go very well for them. I think Tampa is looking at that game saying, ‘We can go into Arizona and win that game.’”

A lot of things would have to go right for the Bucs. Turnovers spring to mind.

Call Joe crazy, but Joe doesn’t think the Cardinals’ weapons are that much more dangerous that the Dixie Chicks’. It is Arizona’s defense that gives Joe pause.

If the Bucs could pull off a win, it might be the franchise’s biggest win since 2012, when they traveled to Minnesota on a Thursday night and whipped the 5-2, playoff-bound Vikings 36-17.

I think a win Sunday would be much bigger than that win against the Vikings. I think it would be closer to the San Fran game when they whipped up on Steve Young and Jerry Rice. That was the turning point for the franchise back then. I really believe a win Sunday could mean the same thing for the present.

I agree, a win here would be HUGE! WE have an up and coming team with a hunger in them.
    Go Bucs!

  3. BKNYfootballhead Says:

Wait. Yesterday Joe wasn’t worried about the Card’s defense, but the offense. Today it seems the Joes have a difference in opinion.

I remember that game against the 49ers.

Warren Sapp came out on FIRE.

We got Ayers to bring the nasty now!!

And Gholston is unmovable. He is a WALL at Left End.

We are tough on our d-line.

Akeem Spence needs more reps though. Hes got a much stronger upper body than McCoy. He beats centers up, whereby helping McCoy later in the game.

Ive said it here before. O-Line vs D-Line is a boxing match.

We gotta beat them up while keeping some guys fresh for the 4th quarter.

    @TouchdownTB,

I was at that San Fran game back in the day, I also was at the ATL game this weekend and I walked away from that game thinking the same thing and having that same feeling when we turned the corner by beating SF. Not that the dirty birds were on the level of SF, but the intensity in which there am played was so similar

I ain’t buying this steal one bullspit. My roster is just as good as they’res if not better. They all pros, who the h3ll cares they’ve had they’re act together a little longer than we now have ours. Zona wasn’t s@$! a few years ago before Arians took over and still ain’t s@$! wit Palmer as the QB. I’m not having this bullspit all season. We stole one, they were sub 500,they didn’t take us serious. F@$! outta here wit that dumb s@$!. We the baddest team in the league and soon you meek of heart gone recognize for yourselves.

Don’t get your hopes up to high. This will be a very tough game over in the University of Phoenix Stadium. Although the weather is starting to cool down there, The dome will be closed which will magnify the sound echos. To take that rabid crowd out of the game, we gotta start real fast and keep it up. If you have read the AZ publications any, the Cards players have been,,fired up in practices this week. We will have to take their best shots and fire back. I hope we win, Butt,,I am not predicting one.

  8. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

NOSBOS – you didn’t go to FSU right?

  9. Mojiska Says:

The Cardinals are better in just about every facet than the falcons, save for maybe secondary. I think we get a break playing them week 2, they are figuring out their other cb position and honey badger is trying to come back from a late season knee injury. We win this and it could mean a wildcard spot over them, or maybe even field advantage in playoffs over them if things fall perfectly.

    Naahh man.

    Lucky guess lol.

I can’t stand Brian Baldinger. He’s on the radio multiple times a week here in Philly. He’s such a homer for what ever team he talks about. His analysis is lazy and often wrong.

  13. Buccfan37 Says:

A win at Arizona will be supercalifragilisticexpialadocious. Don’t know what it means nor how to spell it, it just sounds good. Go Bucs!

  14. admin Says:

    They all pros

Right. So you would put cash on the Browns over the Patriots, without taking points? After all, the Browns are pros, aren’t they?

Awful early to be hitting the bourbon, eh?

  15. Getaclue Says:

This team is a better roster than the Brady and Gronkless team they lost to last week. Grimes matches up well vs fitz with what he has left in the tank . Pat pete can’t cover both Evans and Jackson. Honey badger is he is even healthy is a mismatch still at 6’5″ and if they manage to lock them down then ASJ is going to have his opportunities across the seam and over the top

  16. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

That Vikings game was the Dougernauts coming out game and who is even better now? Doug E. Fresh!

  17. BringBucsBack Says:

I expect the Cards to come out hungry and desperate. Hopefully Palmer feels pressure and performs the way he normally does under pressure, by sharing the ball with his opponents! 🙂

I was at the 1997 ‘Niners home opener. That Buc D was FEROCIOUS! They made us feel like we never felt as Bucs fans. FYI, I saw that someone posted that game on Utube.

  18. Mike Johnson Says:

Baldy is right. You can steal some games. But Arizona ain’t one of’em. If you think Bruce Arians is gonna let the Bucs walk into their stadium without having his team prepared..You are truly crazy. This ain’t Tennessee guys. Arizona is one of the top teams in our NFL. As you will see, come Sunday. Do your homework Buc Fans. Stop all of this prayin, wishin and Hoping. Our Bucs are getting better. But we are not on par with AZ yet.
