Where are you, Gerald McCoy bashers?
Batted passes, knifing through against the run and sacking Matt Ryan, McCoy earned his fat game check today in the fourth quarter. That included on the final play of the game, getting his paw on the final Ryan pass.
Look back at the film, McCoy was holding and pulling on Ryan’s leg last year to close out the Bucs’ win in Atlanta last year.
Joe’s happy for McCoy, but Joe hopes this is a sign of big things to come. If McCoy hopes to be the next Warren Sapp, then he has to be not just a game-changer, but a game-winner.
Today, he was just that.

GMC93 did have a very good game!!!
I thought that LVD43 and KA58 also had great games. There was 1 or 2 snafu on coverage exchanges, but that is to be expected in a brand new defense on the very first game!!!!

McCoy did have a very nice game.Just shows what can be done when a player doesn’t have to do everything by himself.Don’t believe I have ever seen

Carolina is still the king. Denver was lucky to beat them when Gano missed a kick he makes 4 out of 5 times
And Carolina lost on the road against the SB cahmps,.

good grabs by Evans and ASJ,changed the momentum of the game.There seemed to be a lot of checkdowns and safe passes early in game.Once again sims showed how valuable he can be.

I see your point and I agree,,,,,,except that we won against a division foe, which counts for 1/2 game more because it also gave a in division foe a loss!!!! And at least for 2 weeks we can hold the number finger in air in the NFC South!!! as now we can only be tied next week for first!!!!

Improved secondary + Noah / Spence = less on GMC’s shoulders and it shows. He seemed more comfortable in this defensive scheme, like he was having fun

Other than that I saw a different game than you did out of McCoy,Bro.
McCoy had the best game on the D- line and maybe his best game as a Buc.
His Tips,Tackles and sack were all at critical poins in the game.

McCoy should be doing this game in and game out but he never has , never has, which is why he gets exactly the comments he deserves !! Just like today , Great Job !! He still starts allot of big plays but really doesn’t finish many , the guy could be all world but he’s not !! He’s just satisfied disrupting but really doesn’t fight to finish some plays ; just watch!! Kwon finished some plays today !!! Def Player of the week !!!

GMC played his usual great game cos he didn’t have 600-900 lbs. of OL hanging all over him on every play. Some of you people on here are IDIOTS! Hotlanta stayed on our arses offense-wise through the whole game. Figured as much. Now, next test, red eye flight to AZ. Bucs never do well on that game schedule. I notice we’re playing Broncos here. Wonder if their refs are gonna show up? Go MIGHTY BUCS in AZ!!

This was one of the very few games I will have the opportunity to see this season as I not only live in (near) Atlanta, but I also work Sunday through Thursdays. I am, however, able to stream Mean Gene and Dave Moore through the Buccaneer website.
At any rate- Glad I was able to watch this good game, watching the late 3rd and 4th quarter had me sweating though. To me, it looked like we got too comfortable with the lead once it got to 31-13… on paper it sounds silly but I’ve been a Bucs fan since ’97 and have seen plenty of leads squandered.
Does it not concern anyone that they went all Lovie once they got a lead?

This the best all around game in McCoy career. The multiple swats alone were big. That’s something he failed to do up til today. It’s only one game in the season and two or three big plays made in the 4th quarter his whole career. All that is left to do is stay healthy and continue this level of performance consistently throughout the season.
Nice Job GMC! An even greater job by the defense not coughing up the lead.

You fools are crazy. McCoy has never had a front line like he has now. The last time he had anyone worthwhile up there was when Michael Bennett was here. He has always played hard and now has people who can step up and help him. This will be his best ever season

Funny how GMC can display his talents now that there is another legit pass rusher on the line with him huh if guys like Ayers can stay healthy I don’t see why GMC can’t do this all year. US REAL fans all know he’s capable of it.

Great job McCoy and the Job D-line. I’m a defensive guy and I love to see the game closed out on defense.
