“Most Dominant” Rival Heading To Tampa
September 20th, 2016Last week, Ali Marpet and Donovan Smith were asked to pick the “most dominant” pass rusher they’ve faced.
Both gave the same answer.
It’s Aaron Donald, the Rams’ manbeast defensive tackle, the 24-year-old, two-time Pro Bowler selected with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Remember the Bucs-Rams game on Thursday Night Football last December? It was ugly. The Bucs’ offensive line was overmatched — sometimes appeared disinterested — and America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, was hit 11 times.
ELEVEN!
Donald is the beast in the belly of that Rams’ defensive front, which heads to Tampa this weekend with one of the NFL’s most physical defenses.
Speaking on their Buccaneers Radio Network show, Marpet gave a bit of a scouting breakdown.
“He’s a versatile pass rusher. He can a lot of things and he’s powerful. He’s a little shorter but he uses that as an advantage. He’s got great leverage. And he’s got a bunch of pass-rush moves and he’s a high-effort guy,” Marpet said of Donald.
“He’s also stout in the run game,” Smith added. “Overall great player.”
Don’t expect easy yards or points on Sunday. Just ask the Seahawks, who just lost 9-3 to the Rams.

Yeah..and so #3 and the Bucs get to face the top four defenses in the NFL for four weeks in a row!!! That’s brutal!!!
That which does not kill us makes us stronger. Let’s hope the Bucs survive this stretch. Then we get the bye to heal and face winnable games the final 11.
Yeah I believe if we play well over those games we’ll be in position to actually give the Stinkin’ Panthers a game in our own house.

Hopefully GMC takes this personally and shows people who they should be talking about as the best at his position but I’m sure we will get the same patty cake effort with the oline we saw last week vs the Cardinals from him. I really want to believe in the guy but dang sometimes he appears to be going through the motions.

They just have the Seahawks number that’s all. But like I said yesterday Smitty better make sure Case Keenum looks like Case Keenum because they haven’t scored a TD all year.

Case Keenum is licking his chops. He’s gonna keep Goff on the bench and get Osweiler type money from the Browns after lighting up this soft team.
Hopefully the refs calls the cheap shots and late hits this time.

TEs need to be involved in this one. Expose Barron in the pass game 🙂
September 20th, 2016 at 1:22 pm
we HAVE TO help Kevin Pamphile in this game. I’m praying for a game-long double team with Joe Hawley. Anything to slow down that monster.

This game better not be a replay of the last matchup of these teams. A close game will probably play out. The Bucs have to find a way to win this game. Let the Rams escape with a win in the Bucs home opener and the sharpened pitchforks will come out locally.

It was sickening To me last week to keep hearing how “angry” The Cardinals were. Maybe getting angry is only something that good teams do but it sure would be nice to see the Bucs play angry and destroy a team who hasn’t found the end zone yet. They are coming into our house after all, for our home opener. But again home field pride is just a thing of that actual good teams have. A glance at our home record over the past few years reveals that the Bucs have no pride for playing in front of their home crowd

* I hope we use Rodgers as our feature back. He can hit the hole quickly without the Sims dance moves.
Sims strength and talents is in the pass recieving.
We need russel shepard in the #2 wr position
Use Brate on the seam routes. Stop sharing the TE duties. Jameis needs consistantcy. 80/20 with brate and ASJ
too much in Jameis plate
stick with core players and their strongest routes and skills

Arizona is the top defense with the excellent pass rush, in the box handle it just fine. They lost because JW was just off. He had a bad game, kept throwing the ball high, and it was not because of the defensive rush or blitzes.

Well, let’s not forget the Seahawks have Ricahrd Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and Earl Thomas III in the secondary. Case Keenum will look better against the Bucs since our safeties are not very good.

I am not a coaching guru. Neither is quite a few others on here. However, I hope 2 things happen Sunday.
#1—Smith gets a colossal brain belch and puts Banks in;
#2—DK calls a truckload of sweeps, screens, short passes, etc.
LA won’t know what bit ’em. 🙂
Thank the football gods we play the Broncos here. Mile-High? You can forget it. We have a chance (albeit small) to win this one at RJS. Go Tampa Bay!!!!! I hope the weather will cooperate.

Didn’t Joe’s earlier article say that DTs are irrelevant…. Now I’m confused

I love Aaron Donald..Just not against the Bucs. The guy has one speed..Full steam ahead and then some! The guy is a straight up..Beast. Having played the game in college, I marvel at guys who can play hard every single play. Its hard to do guys and beat the man in front of you almost every time. Donald is amongst the leagues special players for sure. Now please Bucs Stop his A..!

Yea he’s a special talent. We will have our hands full.
PROTECT THE HOUSE!!!!

Rams 23 Bucs 10. The bucs only beat teams with below average defenses a la Atlanta and New Orleans. Way too much talent on the Rams D line for the Bucs armature hour O-line.

This is a revenge game for marpet. He got schooled last year but I expect him to handle Donald like he did Cox and every other DL he’s faced. Ok cox made an outstanding individual effort on the strip but marpet has been phenomenal all season so I’m really looking forward to this match up.

Block this line at all costs and find ways to attack their back seven…which isn’t very good.
