The record means nothing this year!!! It will be more about how they measure up in the Division!!! How they compete in the NFC South!!!! The first measuring stick comes tomorrow!!!!!
9-7, I’m feeling optimistic as hell. Come tomorrow at 4pm I might not be but right now I’m optimistic. After knowing the firepower on the offense, a head coach who isn’t scared to win, who doesn’t have a loser mentality, a defensive coordinator who is determined to attack teams and get a new head gig and seeing Jameis Fire up his college team, things have gotta change!!!
Man, I really believed the Bucs would go 8-8 last year w/the way the offense was developing. Of course, it ended up 6-10….sigh. 🙁 I’m going to listen to the ballgame tomorrow before I decide. They should go 8-8 at least!! BTW, I really love the countdown clock!! Go MIGHTY BUCS!!
If the offense can fix their red zone woes, and the pass rush and secondary can improve throughout the season… 9 wins or more is definitely possible. I’ll start at nine, but if they get that many then why not a couple more? Another losing season and I’ll stick my head in the central Florida sugar sand until the losing is over.
Chasing that “anyone’s” wild card spot. Is way more realistic that dethroning the reigning 15-1 NFC champs. 6-10 the defence gave up a 70% comps last season. I expect some improvement in the passrush. But to jump to the upper half is unrealistic. I see them as a feast or famine defence. They will get burnt alot. They will however have many splash plays. Forced fumbles and pics. Maybe even lead the league in turnovers. Vjax can’t stay healthy. If he does play half the time he’s bang up. There a 50% chance we’ll have a top running game. 50% chance they’ll have an off year. #3 will have a 57% comp 4014 yards 23 TD and 20 INTs. But hey if he goes 64% 4200 30TD 10 Ints and the pass rush turn into a top 10 unit. 11 Wins should be within reach.
I think they’ll get 9 wins IF Jameis can start games as well as he finishes them, more than anything he’s got to take that step. If they can improve a LOT on the deep passing game from last year, maybe 10. If neither of those things happen (or if the O-line can’t keep improving from last year), then I see 7 wins at the very most.
The defense is a work in progress with a new DC and isn’t going to be dominant. But hopefully it can be average or slightly better.
One stat to consider: The Bucs have never had a winning season when the defense was 20th or worst in points allowed. 0-20 on that one.
Preseason has got my hopes up again, I see at least 10 wins. The defense looks better than last year and we finished 10th in yards, right? JW scored a TD in every preseason game with limited play so I hope he can keep that up. Can’t take another losing season, it’s time to win. GMC is talking Super Bowl which is unrealistic but I am glad they think they are that good. Just glad Lovie is gone so there are NO more excuses. Can’t wait until tomorrow to see how our starters play for a whole game ’cause they didn’t look that bad in the preseason. Just hope I don’t get let down another year. Go BUCS!
An 8-8 or above record, and I would be thrilled! Can’t wait to see Jameis and the Bucs in person tomorrow at the Georgia Dome! I think this is a very winnable game!
Im betting on 9-7, unless we lose Winston or McCoy to extended injuries.
And if we do go 9-7, Im also betting that we lose Mike Smith to a head coaching job elsewhere
This game will tell the tail. If they are a 10 win team.
They’ll beat a weak team on the road. Next step beat a top 10 team. A loss would be devastating.
We are an optimistic group. As I post this, less than 11% have predicted a losing season, 7-9 or worse. I’ve gone with 9-7, hoping not to be disappointed once again. GO BUCS!!!
GMC is talking Superbowl but that is unrealistic- why in the hell do you so badly want a winning season then??? So your Superbowl expectation is 8 and 8. So glad some of you are not active members of this team.
Its called Polk County!!!! Ironically that is where the “Tooth-brush” was invented!!!!!!!!!! Because anywhere else, It would have been named the “Teeth-brush”!!!!!!!!!

I remember a poll back I think April or March that on the option of “4 wins or less” was “Rioting on Dale Mabry”.

I’m predicting 11-5, 4-2 in the division and 7-3 outside of the division. But anything can happen, 11-5 should be reachable.

Realist I have been in lock step with you most of the off season but wins are vital as only winning can 100% change the culture .

8-8 is quite doable. More IF…our starters can somehow remain healthy. And that’s almost impossible.
