Cardinals 40, Buccaneers 7
September 18th, 2016Crash landings never feel good.
And this one sure hurts something awful.
The high-flying Bucs never got off the ground in this one. And they took a beating. Luke Stocker, Doug Martin, Robert Ayers and Cecil Shorts all went down and out with injuries. Gerald McCoy and Vernon Hargreaves needed medical attention during the game but returned.
24-0 at halftime? Game over.
The Tampa Bay offense was riddled with mistakes, and there was no running game. Overthrows by America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, hurt him again early.
Pass rush? What pass rush? Carson Palmer threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns in three quarters.
Jameis had a rough day with four picks, even if most weren’t his fault. The fumble? The Charles Sims-Jameis collision was something out of the Bad News Bears.
Even Roberto Aguayo got into the act with a missed 45-yard field goal, wide right.
Perhaps most disturbing was Jameis being unable to generate a good effort from the entire team. It seemed only his offensive line and Alterraun Verner came to play.
The Bucs are 1-1, a good start. That shouldn’t get completely lost in this train wreck afternoon.
Stick with Joe through the evening for much more out of this game. Joe is live in Arizona and heading to the unhappy locker room.

Week 3, we face another 1-1 team: Los Angeles Rams, who beat the Seattle Seahawks today.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:20 pm
That offensive line quit on him in the last quarter.
So, do they bring in Vitale now that Stocker is down?
September 18th, 2016 at 7:21 pm
Here comes the over-reactions, including but not limited to: Fire everyone, we are going 6-10. Jameis is terrible. Mike Smith is a horrendous DC. GMC is awful. Cut Vincent Jackson.

We just got beat by a team that is much better than us. I tried to tell some of you that we weren’t at their level, but everyone gets so over-emotion these days. We will be just fine. There will be more days like this. Maybe not 40-7, but games where we just don’t look like we belong. We have to learn how to play at this level. Arizona wouldn’t have lost to anyone today, especially not a young team that hasn’t learned how to win consistently. Don’t panic, lets get ready for next week. Go Bucs!
September 18th, 2016 at 7:25 pm
Well said Hawaiian.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:26 pm
Time for some DELUSIONAL Bucs fans to come back to Earth. This defense is a LOT worse than last year defense, and Jason Licht STINKS as a GM.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:26 pm
Bad all the way around, but Koetter was out coached today. The Cards knew everything we were going to do – both sides of the ball – including OLineman slipping to the second level all day to handle Kwon. I was hyped for this game and obviously let down, but they’ll be fine. They are incredibly young, and this was a “humbling” they may have needed.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:26 pm
I will be shocked if Jameis doesn’t bounce back big time next week. We’re 1-1. Life is good.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:26 pm
If a beat down this bad meant anything we wouldn’t have won a single game last year after week 1.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:27 pm
This was a good loss… I hope these guys looked across the field and saw what they can become. The Cards have been stewing all off season plus a week. They took it out on us but we can take a lot from this game. Jameis will hopefully go back to fixing those mechanics…. He was college Winston again today.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:27 pm
Bucs looked like a high school team today.

My point proven.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:28 pm
I feel like this was closer than the score indicated. Everything that could go wrong did. I am confident that we will rebound against the rams
September 18th, 2016 at 7:29 pm
It takes more than 10 years to get better than AZ. This is a team that shows promise once every 20 years. Calm down
September 18th, 2016 at 7:31 pm
The Bucs were never in the game.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:32 pm
Most of us were just hoping to get back here 1-1. Yes it was a disgusting looking game but reality is the team is 1-1. 14 more games to go. If some players can’t return then Licht will find replacements. Move on.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:32 pm
@Hawaiian. Thanks for some perspective. We sucked in all phases of the game and did it on the road against a Super Bowl contender that was desperate.
If we had to play our worst game of the year this was the place to get it out of our systems.
I’m nowhere near ready to give up. I’m concerned about three areas…#3 simply cannot have a game this bad. It wasn’t just the beginning of the game the overthows lasted all game long and he’s going to get one of our WR’s killed with high passes over the middle. I do not believe #3 will suck this badly the rest of the year. He’s tough mentally…he’ll bounce back,
Second area of concern is the pass rush. I said before this game that it wasn’t the DB’s that scared me it was on our DL. No rush on Palmer and the game would be ugly. That’s a prediction that gives me no pleasure.
3rd area of concern is Aguayo’s head!!! This FG attempt was meaningless but what’s going to happen when the game is on the line.
I’m still on the bandwagon. I still see 10 wins. Losing Martin is a blow but Sims is good and we have some other options.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:34 pm
All jameis. Online gave him all day. He’s gotta be more accurate.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:35 pm
My diagnosis: that was clearly the “Fake Jameis Winston” out there.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:39 pm
That schedule was never going to be friendly to start. I thought they had a very good chance to go 0-5 if they didn’t beat Atlanta. They haven’t beaten the Rams since 2010 despite playing them three times since then. Denver and Carolina are obvious.
They have three really tough defenses coming up. They have a good chance to be 1-4 at the bye.
Most the rest of their games are toss ups. 6-10 is a realistic record and has been since the schedule was released. The opening five weeks was always going to be tough. And if they start 1-4 then it will spiral a bit.
Rome wasn’t built in a day.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:39 pm
Sorry to tell you fellas. This is NOT a 10-6 team, not without a pass rush and slow wideouts. BTW, is Davis smoking crack? No tackles??
September 18th, 2016 at 7:41 pm
@Warrenfb12
you are correct sir. our oline protected very well. JW should have been more accurate. The defense seemed to play soft. we need some more dogs on defense. we need a space eating DT and better safties. Conte was a liability.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:41 pm
Our defense is a huge worry. They have been bad two weeks in a row. We OUTSCORED ATL. Over 800 yards and 64 points given up through two weeks.
They are bad people, bad.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:43 pm
We were out-coached. Plain and simple. Corners played off the entire game and Koetter had no adjustment for that. And when he did, we didn’t have the speed at receiver to make them pay with quick stuff underneath.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:44 pm
“Jameis had a rough day with four picks, even if most weren’t his fault.”

This is the kind of comedy I’ve come to expect from Joe(s), and they never disappoint. Can’t wait for them to dissect all the drops from today’s game.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:54 pm
It was the total opposite of what I hoped would happen: the DK offense turned it over to a quality offense. Hopefully it is a learning curve. BTW Mike Smith let’s see Johnathan Banks start in your DB backfield. Go Bucs!!
September 18th, 2016 at 7:57 pm
I could swear I heard Pablo say “I shaved my cajones for THAT?”
September 18th, 2016 at 7:58 pm
Obviously Lovie Smith’s fault.
September 18th, 2016 at 7:59 pm
There is a lot f work to do, on top of injuries.
I am very disappointed in the defense.
September 18th, 2016 at 8:07 pm
Hawaiian
Vjax is finished sir… he looks slow and extremely disinterested
September 18th, 2016 at 8:15 pm
@tmaxcon,
I love how you can judge these players and what’s in their heads. You have an amazing skill my friend.
September 18th, 2016 at 8:29 pm
@Mac
And if they start 1-4 then it will spiral a bit.
I respectfully disagree. #3 may have had a horrid day but he is a WINNER.
Most importantly he will simply not tolerate a spiral.
In addition after those first five for those of you who live and die by strength of schedule it gets a lot easier…KC on the road will be tough and Carolina is always the team to beat at least we’ll get them at home.
The Falcons won their first five. There is no reason we can’t start a nice win streak during the second 11 games of this season.
September 18th, 2016 at 8:31 pm
The reason why I say Jason Licht STINKS as a GM, is simple. Why keep VJAX and pay him $12 million and why keep Verner and pay him $6 million. And why trade a 3rd and 4th for a kicker, when we have a bigger need at WR and both Safety position. Cut VJax and Verner, resign Sterling Moore for $2 million, draft a WR,FS, SS with the 3rd and both 4th picks. For the $18 million that we are paying Verner and VJax, we could have added some young free agent WR’s and Safeties. And why draft a CB, then try to convert him into a safety? He’s inactive every week, what good is that to us?. Why not just draft a Safety? It’s only the 2nd game of the season, but I don’t see any progress in our pass defense. And Jameis is at his best when teams are stacking the box against the run. Jameis is terrible when facing nickel or dime defenses. And our coaching staff are slow to adjust and make changes, during the game.We are in for a long, long season.
September 18th, 2016 at 8:44 pm
@LakeLandBuc,
No offense, but that is quite possibly the stupidest post I’ve read in a night full of stupid posts. You keep Vincent Jackson because he is a damn good receiver. Did you not notice the difference in our team last year when he played versus when he didn’t? But no, go ahead and call him done after two games. That’s really smart and definitely not a knee jerk reaction!
And I’m so sick and tired of correcting stupid people that don’t understand what we gave up for Aguayo. I’m not doing it any more, because some people just don’t comprehend.
Verner was lights out today genius! He has been really good all offseason. My goodness you can’t fix stupid. And did you actually say to bring back Sterling Moore? LOL! That guy couldn’t make the team in Buffalo! Do you see how terrible their secondary is? He’s now getting lit up in NOLA, and you want to bring him here? Drugs kill dude.
I love the ol’ “add some free agent WR’s and safeties”. Like who? Who was available? While we were at it, we should add a great pass rusher, and a fantastic TE as well. We should just add a whole bunch of great players to the team with that money, right? Boy, you’ve got it all figured out. I wish you were our GM, because clearly you are just filled with bright ideas that no one else could think up.
Jameis is terrible against nickel and dime defense? LOL, maybe the best comment of all. You wouldn’t know a nickel or dime defense if it was labeled on the damn TV! Seriously, do you think before you type, or does the typing diarrhea just happen naturally?
And finally, what “changes” are you speaking of? Should they draw up a brand new game plan at halftime? “Hey guys, let’s scrap what we’ve been doing all week and do something we haven’t practiced yet because LakeLandBuc thinks we need to make changes. Let’s pass the ball better, and run the ball better, and maybe even play better defense. Lineman, you need to block better. Defensive Lineman, you need to rush the passer better. Secondary, you guys need to intercept the ball and then run the other way with it until you reach the end zone. Kickers, you need to make the kick.”
I can’t wait until our next loss to read more ignorant nonsense from you.

Vjax WAS a good receiver…. let it go he is finished
September 18th, 2016 at 9:00 pm
@tmaxcon,
How many times and in how many posts are you going to type that? I get it, you don’t like him. Maybe he stole your lunch money as a kid or something. It’s two games in, we’ll see at the end of the year. But you really look like a hater by repeating yourself over and over again. We all get it. We can all read.
September 18th, 2016 at 9:05 pm
What the f~ck just happened??? Like seriously they put 40 on us? How? Why? Sorry I’m working 60 HR weeks now, I expected to wake up seein my bucs w a statement win… Jaboo 4 ints? Whatever dude, I’ll talk to y’all after I get the iPhone 7 tomorrow… The BUCS stunk up my phone jeez
September 18th, 2016 at 9:30 pm
Oh it’s all LOVIE’S fault! How do we describe him, incompetent, my scheme, his friends and family staff, antiquated scheme. Did any of this look familiar today Tmaxcon, Realist!! 14 games to go 8 more wins to get! GO BUCS!
September 18th, 2016 at 9:52 pm
Mama said if you don’t have something good to say, don’t say nothing! So I’ll see you guys next Sunday! It’s as simple as that!
September 18th, 2016 at 10:23 pm
While the games was ugly let’s have some perspective. The Cards are in the class of teams we hope to get to, we aren’t there yet. They capitalized on every mistake like good teams do. We dropped a easy pick. Missed a fg, stripped our own Qb, had a missed catch tip pick 6. Lost 22 for the game. Winston was off all game with his accuracy. Basically we played a bad game even by Cleveland browns standards. Against a much better team, that we really needed to play perfectly against to have s chance to win. There loss was ugly, but it’s 1 loss and let’s face it no one looked at the schedule and penciled in a W for this one. It gives there coaches done good tape to coach up the players, hopefully 22’s injury is minor. Get better boys and go get there next one.
September 18th, 2016 at 11:08 pm
VJAX is a $12 million dollar receiver?, these damn ignorant Buc fans
