Rookies Lauded
August 17th, 2016The Tribe has spoken.
The spreadsheeters over at Pro Football Focus are poring through their spreadsheets of the first preseason game as if they were excerpts of a script for a new Star Trek film.
Among the film studies and number crunching, Mike Renner listed five things that impressed him, including the play of the rookies of the Bucs.
The Bucs made a concerted effort to address their pass defense early on in April’s draft, and through one game, you couldn’t ask for better results. Second-rounder Noah Spence had his way with Eagles left tackle Andrew Gardner to the tune of three pressures, while first-rounder Vernon Hargreaves III didn’t allow a single catch in 23 snaps (and added a pass breakup).
Oh, yeah, and lost in all the snark was Roberto Aguayo making 38-yard field goal.
Like Robert Ayers told Joe Monday, it is nice to see players do well, but it’s just the beginning. Way too early to start lining the entrance to One Buc Palace with rose petals.
Early signs are encouraging, but there’s a lot of work ahead.

Isn’t Aguayo minimally expected to nail 38 yard field goals as a 2nd round pick, nevermind making extra points?

Glowing reviews, fans amped up and Bucs are better. That’s enough to lift the spirits of all Buc fans. Even the ones in the hereafter.

Speaking for Pablo
“That 38 yard kick from El Asesino was the most beautiful 38 yard kick a Buc kicker has ever made….Pablo believes that if you don’t think so, you could be a racist”

Could be racist. Some aspect of life are just evident. Its hump day so let’s get to it homeboy.

@DallasBuc – It seems you are on a warpath for Roberto. He missed an extra point in a preseason game. Who cares! Mistakes are bound to happen in preseason games. Take a few breaths in a paper bag and let the rookie work on his craft.
