No Official Depth Chart Shakeup At One Buc
August 16th, 2016Tricky guy, that Dirk Koetter.
The NFL-mandated official depth chart in advance of Saturday’s preseason game against Jacksonville was released this morning. And unless Joe’s eyeballs are failing, there’s not one significant change from the one issued prior to last week’s preseason opener in Philadelphia.
Three days ago at One Buc Palace, Koetter told Joe and assembled media, “You’ll see some changes in the depth chart.”
No knock on Koetter here at all. The real depth chart is the one inevitably visible in practice and during preseason games.
For example, Koetter already has said Donteea Dye is the No. 1 kick returner for Saturday and he expects rookie safety/cornerback Ryan Smith and wide receiver Jonathan Krause to be next in line.

This is so unlike Koetter…….Joe, please ask him if you can why he stated there would be changes and there aren’t.
He should be accountable for his statements from the get-go.

Lol are you serious
Joe can u ask him who are we planning on drafting in the first round next year!!!

It’s much easier to claim to be a straight shooter about certain things…and much more difficult once a fella becomes a head coach and has to navigate the “political” land mines on a daily basis regarding injuries & depth charts.

Maybe he is waiting to see what guys do in practice this week before making those promised changes. Simmer down fellas.

Good lord I hope you’re not serious. This is the NFL. Coaches change their mind all the time. It’s no wonder why most coaches keep their mouths shut and don’t offer much to the media. They don’t want fans, reporters, and bloggers saying , “Well, you said this last week.”

Reading way to much into it.
Did he say there would be massive changes?
no he just said changes. I think everyone needs to calm down a bit

Are we seriously trying to hold Koetter accountable for a meaningless depth chart for a meaningless game? Let’s get a grip fellas.

^Ditto

so much for a str8 shooter….what happened to the breathe of fresh air of being a honest coach filled with great info during his interviews….like I said, we’ll see his true character during the week 1 post game….GO BUCS!!!

The depth chart in the media kit for preseason game 2 says KRs are
80 Kenny Bell
29 Ryan Smith
15 Bernard Reedy
10 Jonathan Krause
In that order.

My theory is that the depth chart will change as the week goes on.
August 16th, 2016 at 1:48 pm
My theory is that everyone at 1 Buc is scratching their heads and chuckling at the fact that people are debating this depth chart.
August 16th, 2016 at 3:47 pm
The depth chart is meaningless right now. The joint practices will mean quite a bit more.
August 16th, 2016 at 6:24 pm
LOL
ridiculous.
I love football, but some of you need to get a grip. It is pre-season. All that means exactly nothing
August 16th, 2016 at 7:35 pm
As time goes on Koetter will learn to say less and less….at least I hope so. Coaching is much like being a poker player, the less you give your opponent for clues the better.

I wouldn’t put much stock into that depth chart until preseason is over. We might get a hint at next week’s depth chart when the starters play the most time, but you never know anymore with these coaches. Preseason is for sorting out your depth mainly, and sometimes to settle position battles wich u still don’t know who won until week 1. So don’t get bent out of shape over any of theSe moves.
