Kenny Bell Ran Routes
August 12th, 2016Soothing words for the Kenny Bell Mob, which is still distressed and stressed from last night’s debacle in Philadelphia and the blowback that followed.
Nearly every reasonable person who watched Bell cough up a fumble on the opening kickoff and vanish when the pads come on (like he always has) believes Bell has dug a very deep hole for himself as he battles for a roster spot.
And while Bucs coach Dirk Koetter did not make any excuses for Bell, Koetter said he played better than most realize.
“I am sure everyone is going to be crushing Kenny Bell,” Koetter said today in his day-after-game news conference goes. “Kenny Bell, as far as offense goes, beat his man multiple times. He just didn’t get the ball thrown to him. … He did all he could do, we just didn’t get the ball to him.”
Upon hearing Koetter’s words, Joe’s good friend Justin Pawlowski of Scout.com Twittered “So, Kenny Bell ran routes.”
In the next two weeks, Koetter said, six times the Bucs will face a team wearing different colored jerseys (four controlled scrimmages and two preseaon games). So Koetter said in the case of Bell, and others, the next two weeks is the perfect time for redemption.

I think we’re overreacting on Bell.
He’s played 3 preseason games across 2 years, with an injury in between? The fumble was obviously bad but he is small and I don’t really think he’s built for returning kicks.
Didn’t get much of an opportunity beyond that til the end of the game. The next 3 weeks are prove it time for this young man, or he may get ::practice squad’d::

Koetter: “Im sure everyone is going to be crushing my boy Kenny Bell.” *Looks directly at Joe*..

Yeah let’s see what’s good by the 3rd game all we need to do is come hot to the game start fast play with energy and compete for 4 quarters. I believe in Jameis and last night i wanted Jameis to play more.

Preseason or not..You don’t fumble the opening kickoff in your own territory and just give your opponent 7. No excuses Buc Fans, That’s been our forte. That’s why I love a guy like Belacheat. You produce or get the hell on. No hang on or excuses. Every year starts the same with the Bucs. penalties and turnovers. And You blame everybody..but the players. So hell no, I ain’t going for it. Time for these celler dwellers to get off the snide and start balling. Its disgusting. You guys here sayin time and time again. It will get better. Its just preseason. Hell, our whole season plays out like a preseason full of loses. Ruck up Bucs. Win some games. Shock the hell out of us… GOT…AMIT!!!

If he fumbles again, we have a problem. If he is open, but not getting throws his way, that’s on the QB. Dirk would not point out how Bell was open on numerous occasions if he was in imminent danger of losing his job. Let’s get him the ball and see what he can do!

It was a good strip by Jeff Goode. Steven means had a good game too.

Joe sees what you are doing there. 🙂

Bell got a 1st down by drawing a PI and got wide open in the end zone only to be over thrown. Though I thought Griffin looked pretty good.

I have not given up on him just yet, but I am getting close. I would like to see him at return dury again. I like Hump as our slot guy on third dkwns for sure, but we do need someone on return duty with longer legs and a larger stride than.hump. Obviously ball security comes first. Lets watch over the nwxt two games and see what he can do. 4th game wl t really matter but pre game 2 and 3 will give him an opportunity to break out of his shell. Maybe he.is nervous I dont know but the kid has potential. He just needs to man up and seize the opportunity

I Bell is a bust and you can’t fix lack of toughness.

Bust? He was a 5th round pick!!! Jeezus. He still has a chance. He fumbled. One mistake and he’s a bust? Bucs fans have no sense of reality.
Lack of toughness? WTF are you talking about? Evidence? I mean, opinions need to be supported by evidence don’t they?

Kenny bell isn’t as bad as most of you all think idk if we watched the same thing but Kenny runs good routes and beat his man several times he just wasn’t an option for the said qb at the moments I’m actually rooting for him I believe Jameis would have definitely got him the ball.

He also set a mean block late in the 4th he just ended up being too little for the person he was blocking but the kid has heart.

Route icon.

Seamonster Bells first official NFL touch was a fumbled return. Jameis Winstons first NFL pass was an interception pick 6. Obviously Winston isnt a bust, Bell still deserves a shot to prove himself. He just needs to man up but its there

lol TBBF.
The dude looks too skinny to me to be returning kicks. Too tall and lanky.
August 13th, 2016 at 8:48 am
Bucsalltheway…I’m with you btw. If he was getting open, he was getting open. What more needs to be said.
August 13th, 2016 at 8:49 am
Don’t forget that bell beat his defender for a Easy TD had the throw been on the money. That’s not Bells fault. So I hear what Koetter is saying, if he can keep that up he will have a shot. Not a great start tho. I still have faith in him. Just not at KR lol

I bet if everyone on this site got fired from their jobs for the first mistake they made there would be a lot more posting on this site Joe.

Good route running??? Is that like Michael Clayton’s excellence as a blocker? Sounds like a keeper.
August 13th, 2016 at 10:35 am
See how easy it is to get some fans back aboard the Bell wagon. Who knows? He could be a late bloomer. The head coach defends his game, if, shoulda coulda woulda. Some players just have that IT.
