GMC Talks About Ankle
August 18th, 2016BSPN’s Sal Paolantonio got Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy after the joint practice today with the Jags in blistering hot Jacksonville.
Earlier in practice, GMC went down with what BSPN said was a twisted or rolled right ankle. No big deal, GMC told SalPal.
“Sometimes when you go hard, stuff happens,” GMC said. “It’s fine.”
SalPal noted GMC was “annoyed” and GMC admitted he sure is.
“If we are going to be going, especially against another team, I need to be out there,” GMC said. “I’m a competitor. It bugs me. Especially when my boys are out there competing.”
To be honest, Joe doesn’t care if GMC is held out of Saturday night’s game. GMC is the last guy to worry whether he is ready for Week 1 at Atlanta.
No need to push the envelope on a multiple Pro Bowler.

I think they should hold him out of the games.
Then again…the injury didn’t happen in a game.
I bet though, the haters will say he’s soft.

he might not be 100% ready week 1 for his team but have no fear he will be healthy for the popularity contest aka meaningless pro bowl.

I believe, this the year we need him the most. So, pls…..stay healthy, GMC; you don’t want to miss what’s coming!…..Yes, I’m that positive!

putting him out there in the preseason would be a foolish tough-guy-coaching move that proves absolutely nothing while risking your defensive success for the year. GMC will be fine with mental reps if there’s even an ounce of doubt about that ankle in preseason or training camp. I commend GMC for seeing things differently (completely overlooked by those bashing his toughness), but it’s the coaches’ and trainers’ jobs to protect him from himself right now

Maybe they should only do walk through workouts and keep the players in glass bubbles until sunday…. the dude is fragile ayers can practice, even often injuried akeem spence made it through. This protecting and coddling of players leads to more injuries… maybe they should bubblewrap everyone after stretching…. wussification of America continues

Rub some dirt on it and get back out there.
