Kickoff: 7 p.m.
TV: WTTA-TV Channel 38. (Game scheduled to be rebroadcast on NFL Network Friday at 4:30 p.m.)
Radio: Buccaneers Radio Network (WDAE-AM 620 and WFUS-FM 103.5 in Tampa-St.Petersburg region); SiriusXM Channel 134.
Weather: For the fans who want the NFL to be baseball and not played in the elements, it’s a good thing the Bucs practiced in the rain last week as thunderstorms are expected early this evening. Once the second half gets underway, per AccuWeather.com, the storms should pass. Temperatures will be in the mid-80s to start the game and should hold steady. .
Odds: Per FootballLocks.com, Eagles -3.
Outlook: It’s a preseason game, an exhibition. The offense will be vanilla. The defense likely more so. Neither Dirk Koetter nor Mike Smith are going to show their cards until Sept. 11, when the real bullets will fly in Atlanta. This game, and all preseason games, is about individual players.
Can Kevin Pamphile and Evan Smith hold the fort down at left guard until or unless J.R. Sweezy is removed from floppy hat patrol? Can Kenny Bell catch a pass against someone wearing a different colored jersey with pads? Can Bell return a kick? Can anyone return a kick? Can Johnthan Banks turn around his thus far uneventful training camp with a pick or two? Can some backup linebackers flash? Can Noah Spence really rush the passer? Can Roberto Aguayo kick beyond 40 yards on an NFL field? Can Ryan Smith kickstart his delayed rookie offseason? Is Danny Vitale anything more than the Great White Hype? Will the mindless penalties continue from the first-teamers?
All are questions Joe would like to see answered, and of course, Bucs fans would like the answers to as well.

Recording this tomorrow on NFL network since i live in Denver and can’t see it.
Denver preseason is a bit intriguing because of the QB battle going on right now. So i’ll probably watch that out of curiousity

and LOL at the “Great White Hype” line… – I personally will stick with Hope though. If Vitale turns out to be the real deal – we could surely use the combination of power, speed and good hands that he brings on paper. Looking forward to seeing him in action tonight as well as Noah Spence, Hargreaves, Aguayo, Ryan Smith, Ayers, Grimes, Daryl Smith and all the new Bucs that we have high hopes for.

So Philly is -3. Are you freaking kidding me? People actually bet on these things and believe any line is relevant? Why not try to predict which players will even be in the lineup in the 4th Q.
I’m excited as anybody to get the season going but I”m pretty much please do not let anybody get hurt mode right now. Let’s just head to Atlanta and get it on!

“This Joe” is not a gambling guy but Joe does know there are crazies who bet on preseason football. Hell, when Joe was in Vegas this summer watching baseball at a sportsbook, there were folks gambling on a friggin’ WNBA game!
Gamblers will wager on damned near anything. If folks didn’t gamble on preseason football, no one would waste the time handicapping it or setting a pointspread.

i live half the year in suburbia Doylestown philly and lakeland
New HC Peterson runs the west coast offense. Alot of quick slants and LOS routes. We can see how our DBs are playing the man 2 man Def
they have 2 good pass catching tightends, Lets see how Kwon is progressing reading the middle of the field
**They have the worst group of recievers in the leauge with Mattews out. Strange they released jon Krause and he is doing well at our camp. What the hell does that mean.

I’ve already set my DVR to record the game tomorrow @ 4pm when NFLN reairs it. Gonna watch it as soon as I get home from work. I might be avoiding BSPN/NFLN/JBF until then.
Living in Atlanta, I’ll be stuck watching the Failcons tonight. It’ll be like scouting for the season opener (which I’ll be at).

It was an epic post that would have sent seismometers nuts all the way in China. It would have gone down in JBF lore. Eagles are bad against the run, so our RBs should have good games. Punt and Kick returns should be good too, if they get the opportunities.
Looking forward to seeing how Mike Glennon has grown. I hope he throws 6 TDs, just to increase his trade value.
