“Bucs Fans Should Get Just As Excited”
August 16th, 2016If the Bucs were a stock, Pat Kirwan would be laying lots of cash on the franchise.
The co-host of “Movin’ the Chains,” heard exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio, was in Tampa on Saturday along with his co-host Jim Miller for their annual training camp tour. They hung out with coaches and management and, more importantly, watched practice before their entire three-hour show was about the Bucs.
Kirwan came away impressed and believes it is Tampa Bay, and not the Raiders, that is due to break through.
“Everybody in the world loves the Raiders,” Kirwan said. “They say the Raiders are ready. They were a 7-9 team. This was a 6-10 team. They are so much farther along right now than they were a year ago.
“They injected five players onto the defense. Robert Ayers, Noah Spence, who I think will have a nice role to play, Daryl Smith, short-term answer to a long-term problem, Brent Grimes and Vernon Hargreaves.
“This defense will be better under the direction of Mike Smith and on offense, we sat down with the quarterback and there is something I love about the guy right now. I wasn’t really sure about him when he first got into the league but I am now. This is a star in the making. So I will make an analogy to the Raiders. Bucs fans should get just as excited as Raiders fans.”
Those are bold words right there. Joe sees Kirwan’s point. The Bucs are in a lot of ways, the Raiders of the NFC. Stud young quarterback and a fine nucleus of young talent mixed with old.
And, as Kirwan pointed out, folks are jumping up and down about a team like the Raiders who only won one more game than the Bucs last year.

Maybe it’s just me, but I see a deja vu here. Two teams about to ‘Break through’: the Raiders and the Bucs. Two teams coached by ex-Jags coaches: Jack Del Rio and Dirk Koetter … the teacher and the student. And oh ya, the 2 teams that met in the 2002 Super Bowl. Deja vu all over again? I think not.

I heard the whole segment, What brought this up was that he talked to a couple of fans and some media that are excited but are not “in” on the Bucs. That they are in a “show me” state with the Bucs. And he Kirwan and Miller totally disagreed with this, And they said that after all the camps they have been at and watching the Bucs that we as fans should be in!!! That there are very good reasons to be excited for this team, and the stuff they are doing out at practice!!!
Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!

Is there anywhere this lowly non-Sirius subscribing Bucs fan can hear this 3 hour segment?
