Big Year For Sims?
August 26th, 2016The career of Bucs backup running back Charles Sims seems to be on an incline.
As a rookie, he didn’t show much. He blew out a wheel early in his rookie year and when he did return to the field, it was obvious that the injury set him behind the learning curve.
Last year, Sims came on strong. So much so, Pat Kirwan, answering readers’ questions video-style on his RealFootballNetwork.com site, lauded Sims and believes he is due for a big time break out.
The Sims chatter begins at the 1:22 mark.

All i know is Chuck & Doug ARE the best 1-2 punch in the NFL and when Doug is out Chuck fills in significantly where you dont see a drop off. I know once his contract is up teams wil be lined up begging for a shot at signing him especially since he can also catch out the back. IMO hes good enough to be the starting RB for atleast 23 other teams.

I think that by the time Sims’ contract is up, the team will be ready to move on from Doug and they’ll give Sims the Martin contract and have a young up and comer who is being groomed behind them. At least, that’s the hope. We should be able to get two solid contract terms out of Sims. Barring injury, of course.

Charles Sims should get some looks at WR as well as RB. We have zero depth at WR.

All in on Sims, one of the top Bucs offensive players. Some of his gains seem effortless and smooth. The draft pick that payed off and will continue to do so. Go Sims!

I really hope Sims gets even better…and Doug captures the #1 rusher title.

I admit, I had doubts about Sims at first. He’s earned his props big time so far.

I remember comparisons to Matt Forte when coming out of college, I see a bit more of LeSean McCoy in him. What a luxury to have a Forte/McCoy hybrid in our backfield as a #2.

Sims was hurt his first year….ala ASJ, Bell, etc. Given enough reps and healthy has showcased what he can do on the field.

I remember when a lot of people were whining about that pick and now they’re talking about him taking Doug’s job. 😉
