Better Than Brees?

Yes, we all know that the Bucs have America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston. But in a loaded quarterback division like the NFC South, where does Jameis rank?
Joe believes, right now, No. 3, ahead of only Matty Ice. But former Steelers safety Ryan Clark disagrees.
Clark, part of BSPN’s “First Take” schlock, tried to make a point today as he and Molly Qerim and screamin’ Stephen A. Smith broadcast live from One Buc Palace this morning: Jameis is actually better than Brees.

I loved the show today, but that’s only because it was the Bucs. I don’t necessarily mind the arguing, it’s the repeating that they to prove their point. If I wanted that, I would just click on a Gerald McCoy article on JBF, lol.

i’ll gladly take jameis over brees in the 4th qtr with game on the line. brees’s best days are behind him and America’s Quaterback is just scratching the surface of greatness. Give me Jameis

I think Jameis is ahead of Matt Ryan but not Drew Brees. No one will find out if Jameis is ahead of Brees until around week 5.

The argument really depends on your interpretation of the question. If I’m a NFL GM and could pick between the 4, I’d probably go Cam, Jameis, Ryan, and Brees. Brees only has a couple more years left, so it would be dumb to pick him. If Jameis can help us win 9 or 10 games this year, I’d probably change the order and put him first over Cam (who I can’t stand, but is a damn good QB).
On the other hand, if you are talking about who will be the better QB for next year, I’d have to put Brees ahead of Jameis. Brees is a vet who has seen it all, and is in the same offense for like 100 years, so reality is he will probably have a better season. He pumps out 5000 yards season after season. That’s just me taking off my Bucs homer cap, but I would love more than anything to be wrong.

Come on guys. Jameis is not even close..Yet. He’s had one above average season in the NFL. Yet, you want to crown him as the 2nd coming of Yahzus Christ! Drew Brees by a long long shot. Jameis has got to have at least 5 0r 6 straight seasons of greatness to even start the comparison. And last yr, jameis was good..not great.

I would take Jameis over any other QB in the league!
Not if it was just for this one year – but if I could pick any active NFL QB to start a franchise with – it would be Jameis Winston.

Couldn’t agree more; Stephen A. Smith is near unwatchable and I couldn’t be more excited about a quarterback than I am for Jameis this year. Wouldn’t rather have anyone at the helm!

A one year QB better then Ryan? A one year QB being questioned against Bress? This is tomfoolery imo. I love Winstons potential but Ryan has been a badass in this league and Bress is one of the greatest QBs i have ever saw.

To this date Matt Ryan has thrown for more than 22 TDs vs 15 Ints 5x with an Average of over 64% completion rate.
HOW can Anyone square their mouths right to say that Jameis is “better” than Matt Ryan???????????????
Matt Ryan inherited a 4 and 12 team and made it a 11 and 5 And a Playoff team in his Rook yr.
Now I Fully believe that Jameis’ talent and ceiling is above Matt’s by a good margin. However to say that he is better than Matt Ryan right now is false IMO

Drew Brees is the most underrated qb of this generation. Record stats and a ring. If Jameis gets to that level I will be ecstatic.

good analysis SB. his lack of red zone efficiency and completion percentage
need some improvement.But his future is brighter at this stage of his career
given his huge improvement over just one year.

Yeah Bob, thanks. Jameis had a better rook season in numbers than Matt did other than Ws which cooler heads all know don’t belong to one individual. Jameis is more athletic and has better football IQ. However to say he is better now is jumping the gun. I am SURE if he doesn’t get hurt and the Bucs keep surrounding him with BPA then he will surpass Matty Rice. However it is just now up to us Fans to root and pray or whatever order you want to put it in. Go Jameis and GO BUCS!!!

As a Gator who followed Cam Newton’s career since Jr High and was Very pissed off when he got caught cheating the Second time, I must say that Jameis has a higher potential than Cam. It is about intelligence and attitude. I may be a Gator but nobody on this site can say that I said a bad thing about Jameis before the draft.

Poor Tampa Bay Buc fans, They HATE..almost everything. You’d almost think they were waving a confederate flag and blowing a TRUMP (et). There is nothing wrong with Stephen A, Smith. Except..YOU..don’t like him. Apparently, nationally..a lot of people do. Course Bucs fans have been known to blow that..TRUMP (et) Talking loud and sayin…Nothing!

Interesting to me that Jameis and Cam have similar backgrounds.both have fathers that are pastors,i believe.But Jameis’s strong family ties helped him
get through some trying times and he has matured monumentally.It took me
till I was 25 to realize my parents knew a lot more than I did.
Good on Jameis.

Brees looked done to me last year. Throwing ducks and bad INTs. Maybe he’ll find the fountain of youth *cough HGH* this year but I think his arm is gone. 1. Cam 2. Jameis 3. Ryan 4. Brees
