“Next Man Up” Is A Fraud
July 28th, 2016Introducing BalzerFootball.com!
So you thought it was cool when Joe added the Custodian of Canton, eye-RAH! Kaufman, to the JoeBucsFan.com family full-time? Now Joe’s got another Pro Football Hall of Fame voter grinding away daily.
What other website has two members of the Hall of Fame selection committee in the mix? There are only 46 voters in the country!
His name is Howard Balzer, and he’s an iconic member in the world of NFL media. You hear him hosting at least weekly on SiriusXM NFL Radio, and Balzer has a 40-year history covering the league inside and out for all kinds of national outlets — print, TV and radio.
At the new BalzerFootball.com, Howard will offer unique perspective daily on all things NFL, like only he can. Get your wall-to-wall Buccaneers coverage here from Joe, and then slide over to get diverse NFL takes from a polished observer like Balzer. Joe especially liked Howard’s offering this morning, calling out the popular “next man up” coachspeak as fraudulent.

46 voters and they get it wrong every year

Congratulations on the new addition Joe.
That’s a curious take you have on the “next man up” coachspeak. I’ve been saying this for a very long time but most especially last season. When Kwon Alexander, Vincent Jackson, Clinton McDonald, ect… went down with injuries or a suspension there wasn’t a next man. Not only that, you can’t “coach up” players you already have to replace those that were lost to injury or suspension. Simply put the Bucs have not been talented enough for many years to overcome setbacks. Most JBF readers don’t agree.
Let’s hope this season is different.
