It’s the inaugural Ira Kaufman podcast!
If you missed the big news, Tampa Bay’s only Pro Football Hall of Fame voter is now a full-time member of the JoeBucsFan.com team, presented by Ed Morse Cadillac Tampa and Ed Morse Cadillac Brandon. eye-RAH! will deliver at least a few columns per week — first one Monday — but eye-RAH! also will sit down with Joe for two or three weekly podcasts on all things Bucs.
Listen or download below. (And a little tease, in the next podcast coming Tuesday, eye-RAH! tells an Austin Seferian-Jenkins story that will leave you shaking your head.)

Fellas, Joe’s really not going to sign up for a beating. Joe’s confident we’re all smart enough to realize that Podcast No. 1 is a somewhat different animal.–Joe

Well I liked it. I know it’ll only get better. Especially when there will be actual things to talk about. Will the podcast be on iTunes?
Sometime next month. There is a download option directly on the site, too. –Joe

Welcome Ira, so glad you found a new home. Can’t wait to see what you have to say. Awesome hire Joe!

As an audio nerd, I have to admit Joe the sound quality here is tight. Were you really in a running car? Very surprised anmd impressed. Most podcasts sound like they’re in a soda can, so this should be damn good once the training camp actions gets rolling. Congrats on Ira. Can’t wait for him to scold you.

SO GLAD IRA STAYS IN TAMPA!!! DEF Has business to finish with Lynch and Barber, but PLZ, until we resume live action football in a week, NO MORE TEASES. I already have no fingernails left, teases mean the cuticles start to go too.
July 23rd, 2016 at 4:23 pm
I hope all the Cadillac-pimping mixed into the conversation was only a one-time thing… I mean, I know you’ve got to pay the bills (and Ira’s paycheck), but…

for those of you who may not be drinking the Joe’s Kool Aid about our team. Take a look at the below link on JW. Turns out, he was the most inaccurate QB in the NFL last year. Joes want us to focus on Evans drops. This article points out that JW let ME down much more than the opposite. IF you care about our team and not the local spin, take a look. If not, let the haters begin the assult

BucNut2 I have been very consistent with my stance that numbers are for people that don’t understand the game. Just like myself and many others told you Winston is going to be a great player. I can use stats to prove how good he is but instead I will watch the games and decide for myself. What those stats don’t take into account are all the balls he threw away to avoid sacks. Do you really think the reason we improved in the sacks taken department is because of 2 rookies, 2 guys pulled off the street and a player about to retire? It’s people like you that make Bucs fans seem stupid and just like I told you before last year there is plenty of room on the Titans bandwagon for you so take a trip over there or learn the game before posting this nonsense.
July 23rd, 2016 at 5:27 pm
Bucnut…when are you going to give up your quest?
July 23rd, 2016 at 5:32 pm
Dog and 1987- please take off your rose colored glasses and be objective. Did you even look at the site. JW may eventually be great but right now, he is average. That is the truth. Sorry if it upsets you.
July 23rd, 2016 at 5:34 pm
Better not fire up eye-RAH-joe up to much during the podcast, or he might start slapping car hoods Tom Stimus style!!!!!
July 23rd, 2016 at 5:56 pm
@Bucnut2
Lol, two can play at this game, PFF wrote an article explaining why JW will be better than MM in 2016 and it stays that Mariota”struggled on deep passes (20-plus yards downfield) as the lowest-graded quarterback and last in deep passing accuracy at 20.4 percent. He also had just 12 BTTs compared to 20 TWPs.”
Guess Winston can’t be the worst deep passer, huh?
https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-who-will-have-a-better-2016-jameis-winston-or-marcus-mariota/
Oh and it also ends with, “But while Winston needs to cut back on his mistakes, ultimately he was the better quarterback overall last year. He performed better on both intermediate and deep throws, and when not pressured, while both players graded similarly when under pressure. Both players are set up to have better seasons than they did as rookies, but Winston is primed to have the better season in 2016.”

This may come as a shock but sponsors generally don’t want to be kept hiding in the bushes.
July 23rd, 2016 at 6:10 pm
Bucnut2 … Thanks for sharing that link. Excellent analysis by Cian Fahey. Jameis was admittedly inaccurate on many throws last year, but only part of that is throwing mechanics (Fahey’s emphasis I thought). Jameis was a rookie, and yet Coach Koetter didn’t hold him back. He let him throw all over the field. Far as I’m concerned that’ll pay dividends this year. He also didn’t have top-tier WRs for the most part (once VJax went down, was probably easy for opposing defenses to key on Evans). Chemistry with his receivers AND with his OLine should also be better this year, since Jameis has a year under his belt. I’m convinced Jameis is a true franchise QB … he’s got excellent leadership skills and works hard to overcome his weaknesses. All that will pay dividends for the Bucs in the years ahead I’m convinced.

Ira,
Welcome aboard. What a great addition to JBF.
Ok. Here’s what I want to know.
A couple of years ago you said you knew the inside scoop to Josh Freeman’s melt down.
You also said there would be a time that you would reveal the facts on the said melt down.
How about now?
July 23rd, 2016 at 6:12 pm
MM- I agree that JW has great potential, but most on this site think he has arrived and is a franchise QB. He is not there yet, I truly hope he gets there.
July 23rd, 2016 at 6:45 pm
Good call, Dave Pear. I hope we get that scoop!
July 23rd, 2016 at 7:12 pm
Buc nut
You know you right. Overall his accuracy needs work but in his defense he does get better as the game goes on. In the 4th he’s money plus he’s a rook so let’s see if he can improve his timing and placement this year. The ps should tell us what we need to know.
July 23rd, 2016 at 7:22 pm
Now as for Humphries being a #5 or #6 receiver. You know that’s a bunch of bull. Humphries played #3 at Clemson behind Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant and Deandre Hopkins. Those 3 are arguably better than Vjax much less Louis Murphy. But what do I know…

Absolutely Joe censors. This is not a democracy. Joe has no interest in babysitting your kind of negativity in the non-Morning-Cup threads. –Joe
July 23rd, 2016 at 8:41 pm
Sorry Monster. “this Joe” doesn’t censor. The “other Joe” did including one of my replies.
Just to warn you, mock our sponsors or business partners, your comments are not secure, nor should they be. This is a business.
Sorry Joe isn’t NPR and isn’t bankrolled by the Feds.
July 23rd, 2016 at 8:52 pm
Bucnut2 for record I the read the article when it first came out and clearly Jameus is not perfect but in case you didn’t know he was a rookie and will get better and better. Just like every player who has ever entered the league he was not perfect but if you cant see this is already the best qb this franchise has ever had you are watching the wrong sport.

Negativity? That’s borderline, dude. You have to admit, the Cadillac selling content of the podcast above is WAAYY over the top, which is fine for an intro podcast and to give the sponsor a shout out. But it gave the podcast the tone of an infomercial. Just hope you can be a little more subtle with the pimping in future podcasts. I know you need to pay the bills and all…
July 23rd, 2016 at 10:23 pm
But, that said, I’m happy you have Ira and are doing the podcasts! Thanks Joe.
July 23rd, 2016 at 10:27 pm
Wow, salish, you got at least one Joe pulling his hair out! I’m going to guess that was Lee. Lol! It’s not even training camp and we’re all fired up. Ira Kaufman is VERY well respected in NFL circles and gives JBF the credibility that can be hard to come by if you aren’t “traditional” (old school) media. Pewter Report must be kicking themselves in the …
July 23rd, 2016 at 10:31 pm
salish, I think everything surrounding this team is falling into place. I’m not expecting playoffs this season, but one more draft and maybe some FA acquisitions that can see a winner on the horizon, and well be a playoff team for years to come! Hopefully I’m not setting myself up for another disappointment. Lol!
July 23rd, 2016 at 11:59 pm
Holy horrible… Could he say your name a cpl dozen more times? Painful to listen to. Bummer

Give it time, man. They’re not going to be perfect on episode 1. Just like a rookie isn’t going to perfect in game 1, or even season 1 for that matter.
July 24th, 2016 at 6:56 am
Geez, lot of crybabies around. There was nothing wrong with the podcast. It definitely held my interest. Training camp hasn’t even started yet. It’s going to be great when Ira can let it rip as is explained.
July 24th, 2016 at 8:59 am
Bucnut is upset that JW looked “average” during his rookie year.
July 24th, 2016 at 10:56 am
And he’s tradin’ in his Chevy for a Cadillac yak yak yak yak, you oughta know by now. Billy Joel, Movin’ Out
July 24th, 2016 at 12:07 pm
Joe I love your site. Mostly I just lurk. Didn’t mean to “beat up on you”. Just thought Ira should be the focus not the m.c. Also completely understand sponsorship. Good luck with everything.
July 24th, 2016 at 5:00 pm
Lol just read the last few lines, Joe on Joe battle
