“High Expectations”
May 26th, 2016Today, the Bucs resume OTA practices. And the practices are open for local scribes and TV and radio types. So Joe will be there, you can bet on that.
Tuesday, Dirk Koetter was asked what kind of expectations he has for the season. Well, Bucs fans ought to be happy with his response.
“Oh, I promise you I have high expectations, probably higher than anybody else out there does,” Koetter said. “We have very high expectations for ourselves, but you can’t get excited other than working.
“It’s a long way to September 11th. You can’t hold that emotion from May 23rd or whatever today is, all the way to September 11th. That’s impossible, but again, to go to work – if you’re a football player or a football coach you come to work to get better and that’s what we’re doing.”
Yes, it is late May. The regular season is a long, long ways away. But Joe likes that Koetter has set a high bar. Even if that bar is not reached and the team comes close, that is progress.
Shoot, folks are so used to losing. Just going 9-7, even if the Bucs missed the playoffs, there just might be a parade down Dale Mabry Highway.

What’s really hard for me to believe is that the calendar reads 2016. Those 108 days until kickoff of the regular season will race by, time flies is no joke. Anything good is worth waiting for.

Def got high expectations, I just wish these fans could say the same for players like ASJ, Kenny Bell, Noah Spence and even Hargreaves, but we keep hearing he’s always hurt or he’s just a rookie. I had high hopes last off season for Martin and Sims (worked out pretty well), I figured the o-line couldn’t be any worse, so even playing rookies, had high expectations. Just win baby
