“Showing That You’re Respect Worthy”

Clinton McDonald

Bucs defensive tackle Clinton McDonald, bearer of a Seahawks Super Bowl ring, was called the “glue” of the Tampa Bay defense last year by Lovie Smith.

Lovie was referring to how McDonald was a leadership force with a voice respected by all.

Lovie considered it a significant loss when McDonald was lost for the season in October. Interestingly, Dirk Koetter expressed a similar opinion to Joe in the bowels of Lucas Oil Stadium at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.

It should be interesting to see what McDonald’s healthy return brings, as he competes with Akeem Spence (and a draft pick?) for a starting gig.

McDonald is an extreme good guy and ran his annual youth football and cheer camp this weekend in his hometown of Jacksonville, Arkansas. Of course, the theme was as much about life as it was about sports.

In the TV video below, McDonald talks about “showing that you’re respect worthy,” and more.

Enjoy.

If McDonald was the “glue”,,, does that make lovie the “acetone”??? (or anything else that can breakdown and disintegrate adhesiveness)!!!!

I am still hoping that we see 3 defensive lineman drafted with 1 of them being a highly ranked DT!!!!!

Fix the lines if you want to go toe to toe with the Stinkin Panthers!!!!!!!

Spoken like a true captain. #RESPECT

I see Whitner was released from the Browns. Y’all think we should go after him for a little help at safety. He is 31 but could be a bridge player that they been preaching about. Thoughts?

Our line hasn’t been the same since Adrian Clayborn left..

Wow the draft can’t get here soon enough. Stamkos out so Lightning done! The Rays have a 1st basemen that cant field so they are going to suck. Come on draft!

  6. Sacbuc$ Says:

We need to pick up WR J.Jones from the Packers because they don’t seem to appreciate his big play ability. TE O.Daniels has been over looked since he left the Texans. They are old but they had better seasons them some of our young guys. We have 300 solo tackles at LB now with the addition of Smith. Kwon had 90 something tackles with a 4 game suspension at the end of the season. Both David and Smith went over 100 so we should be strong against the run this year.

On topic: When Clinton went down we did get weak up front. I’m wondering what took so long to put McDaniel in there. He played good in the absence of McCoy and McDonald. The 3 Mack Trucks and Akeem can hold down the middle. Melton, Johnson, Jack and Howard coming off the edge. Somebody teach Golston another move besides a bull rush maybe a swim move and he might be more disruptive on the pass. With the chop block gone we should be fine up front as long as we have Jack and Howard off the edges on 3rd Down.

P.s I been HERE I just don’t post no more. Wassup Joe.!

Mad LUV n’ RESPECT 4 Clint. Keep grinding brotha.
We can all pump our gums – sitting on the couch.
But how many of U will take time – to speak to the kids – in your ole’ neighborhood.
How many U are willing to help – these kids stay off the block?

These kids need our help – so get out there – do what U do.

    Oh that’s right.
Here’s to improving our interior D-line this draft. DE argument goes without saying.
I have no idea what the former lapdog GM has cooked up but it better involve a strategy for rushing the passer and scoring points.

I think I remember Clayborne making a play his rookie season. Kind of like Barron’s hit on Steve Smith….then they vanished.

Former Cleveland Safety Donte Whitner would be a solid pick up. Very good in coverage and decent against the run. Some say he is a loudmouth and past his prime? Guy went to the Pro Bowl in 2014. Best part of all he is 5-10. Ran a 4.4 40. He is the 4th rated Safety in FA this year. Word on the street is the Steelers want to move on from Martavis Bryant. Someone wake Jason Licht up and tell him we have two potential signings for him. Draft NT Andrew Billings Baylor. Michael Thomas* WR Ohio State 6′ 2″ 210 in the second. Move up in the third and draft Vonn Bell* SS Ohio State 5′ 11″ 205

To Sacbuc$ – Agree with you on James Jones. By the way Henry Melton and Tony McDaniel are FA and it does not look like we are going to sign them again.

  12. MadMax Says:

I’d still love to have Andrew Billings godzilla. Im pretty sure you were the first to point him out on here and then I followed. If we trade back from #9 or if we moved back into the bottom of the 1st, he would be a golden pickup.

I still want WR Josh Doctson more than anyone outside of the top 10 though. Then go all defense after that. I think this year will be a good time to use a trade from next year’s picks. We’ll probably be picking past 20th next year.
