Can Vernon Hargreaves walk the walk, like Brent Grimes does?
Vernon Hargreaves certainly is sure of his abilities, so he shared with local media this afternoon.
Presented with a buffet of coverage styles and ask to pick what best describes him, Hargreaves had no interest in politically correct nonsense.
“Press-man. End of discussion,” Hargreaves said.
Yes, the new 20-year-old Gators cornerback can talk the talk. Last night, he told Bucs fans to expect “a lockdown, play-making corner.”
Joe sure hopes Hargreaves can walk the walk, too.

I know I’ve beaten this to death…..VHG is stout by CB standards. Again he’s 20 lbs heavier than Grimes. He’s going to give Smitty some pop out of the defensive backfield and obviously he’s built to fill Ronde’s old role when we blitz the CB.

Hargreaves is young. He will make mistakes. But he’s gonna play his heart out. That’s all you can ask for. I’m confident he will make a good contributions to the team. The selection is..what it is. Hope he lives up to his/our expectations of him.

Can’t believe his jersey in women’s sizes is very limited to what colours are available..I had to settle for the only one available…I wanted the throwback so bad..

I’ve said this before if you have corners that can keep receivers from being open 2 steps off the line then the line has a better chance of sacking or applying intense pressure on the qb. Playing press man will do that. Spread the LBs out a touch more to put them automatically in the passing lanes for slot receivers and TEs. Stay in their hip pocket for 3 seconds and the line will get off! There were plenty of DEs on the board but Hargreaves was the clear line best of the rest with next guy not even close so he was the right choice.
