Interception!
April 27th, 2016Your beloved Buccaneers were back on the practice field today.
Keeping it real, Joe wasn’t focused on typing up detailed practice notes, as Joe usually does. The draft is tomorrow, and all things Bucs are about to change.
Regardless, it was a rather uneventful underwear football afternoon of stretching, drills and 7-on-7 work. There were good plays and bad, and no hitting of any kind. Vincent Jackson continues to look exceptionally sharp.
Brent Grimes got on the highlight reel with an interception of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston. Second-year receiver Kenny Bell’s hands failed him on a hard slant pass, and Grimes was there to pluck the freebie from the air.
This is all pretty meaningless, but Joe knows it will drive the large Kenny Bell fan club wild, so that’s something.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:03 pm
Mike Clayton Evans is rubbing off on the rest of the receivers!
April 27th, 2016 at 4:06 pm
Bell will take Glennon’s place for all the excuse people and I am sure the reason bell can’t catch is he never got a fair chance… WR is a huge need. If those two bums in Murphy and Dye make the team the bucs are in a world of hurt… They need to grab a vet for when vjax misses games and a draft pick to groom. I like bell but too much is at stake to count on him.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:08 pm
BUST!
He will not make this team. Sorry I live in NFL reality and dont get caught up with hair.
His only real chance is if we have 2 or more injuries at WR in preseason. How does he beat out either Murphy or Russell? I just dont see it. I even like Andre Davis -USF- over him.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:11 pm
Had some nice plays in TC last year I recall as well. I’ll wait till preseason to judge
April 27th, 2016 at 4:12 pm
tmax
Murphy is no bum. He got hurt but he is a legit #3 WR. I also highly doubt they will replace a QB with an additional WR that makes zero sense.
The reason Bell cant catch has nothing to do with fairness rather he has Mike Clayton hands of steel.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:16 pm
Go look at Nebraska WR history…only one true great ever from that RB school……Irving Fryar. Bell is no Fryar. Bell is not even in the Huskers top 20 all time.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:18 pm
He will definitely have his opportunity when it matters to show his value on the roster.
Not gonna over react but it’s also underwear football and he’s dropping the Rock and that’s not ideal for a player wanting to increase his roster chances.
Bucs better draft a guy early on.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:19 pm
I really don’t see why people have so much belief in Kenny. He has never showed anything in a nfl uniform. But whatever, if he makes the team then all glory to him.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:20 pm
Man has ME and Clayton effected us!!! I…like most here…believe the jury is out on Bell but he has a lot to prove to make this team.
But it’s ONE drop!!! Are we really going to make this much out of ONE drop?
Why yes we are because we beat the draft to death and we need tomorrow night to give us some fresh ideas. We’re all…and that includes the Joes…jonesing for some football!
April 27th, 2016 at 4:22 pm
DoNUTS
go look at murphy’s career stats and tell me again he is a # 3… he’s a 5 or 6 at best who does not play special teams nor can he stay healthy… there is a reason why he has begun 2 seasons on the couch and only the bucs came calling. that is hardly the resume of a true #3 receiver. do not confuse local feel good stories with talent and quality players.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:29 pm
Calm down people.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:45 pm
The longer he does nothing for the Bucs organization the more hate will roll in. He doesn’t even seem to be a part of the rookie crew led by Jameis and Donovan Smith.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:51 pm
Oh Geez. Bell mishandles one pass and out come the torches and pitchforks. You people are hilarious.
April 27th, 2016 at 4:52 pm
@joe…how’s Andre Davis looking?….GO BUCS!!!
April 27th, 2016 at 4:57 pm
Mike Evans hands look alright?
April 27th, 2016 at 4:57 pm
Bum is a strong, derogatory, condescending word!

It’s not so much a fan club as much as we want a likable guy to succeed, especially if he’s on our team. Why you gotta hate?

Where did One Love go to? Did he change his name?
April 27th, 2016 at 5:27 pm
LWD…sometimes some fans can only take so much JBF….we’ve seen folks come and go. I’ve only been here 3 years, but I’ve seen peeps come and go then come back again too.
He might be back.
April 27th, 2016 at 5:30 pm
Let me see here, a guy who has never taken a meaningful NFL snap drops a ball while being blanketed by a pro bowl corner…
YES let’s all grab our torches, lose our minds and riot.
April 27th, 2016 at 5:38 pm
How the hell is big Murph a bust? Dude you must have Louis Murphy confused with someone else. When healthy louis Murphy is a threat
April 27th, 2016 at 5:39 pm
One more day!😀
April 27th, 2016 at 5:52 pm
I bet if you threw an Xbox controller he’d catch that! I’ve been holding my tongue all offseason but when you see the entire 2014 rookie class working out and bonding then you see Kenny playing video games all day you wonder wtf is he doing.
Somebody coming for yo job Kenny.
April 27th, 2016 at 5:55 pm
Although Bell has done anything yet..why not let it play out. He will make it obvious over the season whether he has talent or not. McCoy was hurt the first part of his career, but has played at a pro bowl level and fans still hate him. I just don’t get all the negative stuff…we need bodies in camp. Hopefully, Evans will focus and have a great year. I don’t see the benefit of constantly beating on our best players.
April 27th, 2016 at 6:07 pm
It’s pretty hilarious to see people predicting whether someone makes the team after 2 days of a pre-draft minicamp. Honestly, I’ll trust the coaches. If they thought he didn’t have a chance, he wouldn’t have been stashed on IR all year. Also, there are plenty of reports stating how impressed the Bucs staff is with Kenny Bell and they high hopes for him. And naturally, Joe is the eternal skeptic of anyone drafted after the 3rd round. Doesn’t believe in player development. Didn’t know who Cameron Brate was until he caught a touchdown. Why would Joe highlight a missed catch by Bell in a freaking minicamp? Because he wants to take a sh!t in your Cheerios and he doesn’t like giving players a chance. D!ckBucsFan.
April 27th, 2016 at 6:25 pm
Andre Davis runs in the 4.70s
April 27th, 2016 at 6:34 pm
Humphries will shine in the slot.
April 27th, 2016 at 6:40 pm
I suspect Bell will get plenty of opportunities to make the team…..I’ll waive judgement until it’s time. To call him a bust already is ridiculous.
And, as far as this pass is concerned…it’s just one pass, and I didn’t see it….so it may have been too hot for him to handle or just slightly off…..anyone else here actually see it?
As for ME13…..saw the E60 special on him….quite a story….I’m sure he will end up being a huge success for us.
April 27th, 2016 at 6:51 pm
@tmaxcon, I’m going to assume you been drinking today,I’d hate to think anything more !!
April 27th, 2016 at 6:55 pm
“Humphries will shine in the slot.”
Joe regularly writes off Humphries as a guy that basically should be regulated to the practice squad. He says he’s not a #3 or #4 WR but more like a #5/6 kind of guy or basically a guy that should not see the field much at all outside of injuries.
I don’t buy that. The guy was a 22 year old undrafted rookie WR lol that wasn’t even given much action till mid season. How can you judge someone so definitively at this point?
He seems like the kind of guy that could develop as a decent slot dependable 3rd or 4th WR.
I still want us to draft Vjax’s replacement and we do need depth but I like Humphries potential. Just imagine him in year 2 of the same system with a lot of focus on his route running / cuts.
He didn’t compete at the combine but his pro day #s aren’t bad at all and most all place within the top 15-20 of the WRs at the 2015 combine
April 27th, 2016 at 7:02 pm
Its Do or Die for Mr. Bell this year. Saferian Jenkins also. Tired of this word..Potential being thrown around with these 2.If you cannot stay healthy, then go to the retirement parture. Perform or..Pack your bags.
Because we all know the best Ability is..Availability!
April 27th, 2016 at 7:12 pm
Those detailed practice notes are like crack man ! need more
April 27th, 2016 at 7:43 pm
As much as I would love him to be the to go-to speed receiver, I doubt he has a future in the league. Love Kenny Bell as a person.
April 27th, 2016 at 7:51 pm
Hopefully Licht and the Front Office show up tomorrow night unlike Ben Bishop tonight.
April 27th, 2016 at 7:57 pm
Treadwell’s highlights just got me a lillllll excited!!! Only if we could have scooped up Norman then Spence slips into the 2nd to us after drafting LT. “Captain hindsight here!” Well I guess that’ll never happen so I’ll shut the %#@$ up
April 27th, 2016 at 8:01 pm
@ dallas buc
this one is for you, mike evans is no mike Clayton
http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/159852902/jameis-winston-mike-evans-relationship-tampa
April 27th, 2016 at 8:09 pm
Yeah Dallas, I think you are going a bit overboard. Mike has had back to back 1000 yard seasons and one of the best Rook campaigns ever. Clayton never had that and had nowhere near the character ME has.
April 27th, 2016 at 8:16 pm
Jesus Bell was on IR all year long and people are already lynching him?
Wait at least until the pads comes on
April 27th, 2016 at 8:18 pm
Humphries catches the Ball Period
Let see some press on him.Joe
April 27th, 2016 at 8:33 pm
@ SB with Jameis
you have a bit more tact than I do.
April 27th, 2016 at 8:43 pm
Lol Bob!
April 27th, 2016 at 8:44 pm
@LordC and Paul Blaylock
Agree about Humphries. It’s clear Koetter likes him as well. He’s not the next 1 or 2 receiver…but he has potential as a possession receiver…a role player.
April 27th, 2016 at 9:05 pm
Speaking for Pablo
“Pablo lost his excitement if FA when Pablo’s Bucs passed on making a play for Victor Cruz……as for Kenny Bell….Pablo’s Madre taught Pablo many years ago not to put Pablo’s finger in where the light bulb went…..and that’s exactly what Kenny Bell must have done to have that hair. Pablo will give Kenny a free table dance”
April 27th, 2016 at 9:08 pm
This morning I did a mock draft with Fanspeak against the Composite board and I got
Hargreaves
Spence
Karl Joseph
Dieone Jones
in the first four picks. I would be happy if this happened.
April 27th, 2016 at 9:11 pm
Literal Lol Pablo. Thanks
April 27th, 2016 at 9:58 pm
Joe likes mock drafts and O’Douls more than he likes “You killed” Kenny Bell.
April 27th, 2016 at 10:18 pm
Noice JonBuc 🙂
April 28th, 2016 at 7:16 am
Is there a reason Kenny Bell, Mike Evans, & Donteea Dye can’t be given the same gloves to wear that Odell Beckham uses? They seem to work pretty well & these guys need help in that department.
April 28th, 2016 at 8:51 am
Why do I get the sense that Joe was all to,eager to mention that Bell had a drop. Lol I don’t know what Jose has against Bell but he obviously is not a fan of him. I don’t get it, he’s got the talent and speed to help this team out, especially on the long ball where the bucs have no threat at all so why not root for this guy. Everyone says he hasn’t done anything, we’ll it’s hard to make plays when u get injured in preseason ppl. Him and winston were beginning to buid chemistry before he got injured. Hes got to stop dropping the ball tho. We have enough of that crap already. All I’m saying is give him at least a full preseason before you vouch to have him to “walk the plank.”
The guy I really want to see make it is Andre Davis from USF. He has the talent to be a good no. 3 and can take over “always injured” Louis Murphy. Maybe we snag a guy like Sterling Shepard in the 2nd as well. There’s rumors swerlling that WR is one of the bucs top needs.
