Consulting The Master
April 14th, 2016Not sure if this ever happened but it sure seems like Bucs middle linebacker Kwon Alexander knows who to consult on playing linebacker.
And that whisperer would be none other than Double-Nickel, Derrick Brooks.
As Alexander prepared for offseason conditioning this week at One Buc Palace — Joe will be out there today for more interviews with no idea who will be available, but stay tuned — Alexander noted on Twitter he was watching film of Derrick Brooks.
A few hours later, Alexander Twittered the following:
Gotta get up wit @DBrooks55 to pick his brain !

You are a wise young lad, Mr. Alexander. There are few people, especially in the Tampa Bay area, from whom to seek knowledge about playing linebacker better than Mr. Derrick Brooks.
No, the two did not play the same position. But who is more intelligent and well versed in linebacker X’s and O’s than Brooks?

I love it nothing like getting a lil extra know how from a great one. Good job Kwon. And oh yea Titans just traded the number 1 to the Rams.

I think it would be time better spent talking with one of his teammates!!!! That’s right, newly signed LB Daryl Smith!!!! Who has played at every linebacker position in DC Coach Mike Smith during his time with the Jags!!!!
But maybe he was just watching Oil Derrick Brooks tape for better drop back pass coverage???

Man, Kwon and Jameis sure are acting years beyond their real ages. Nice move Kwon. Cant wait to see you playing after we upgrade this D in 2 weeks.

That trade between the Rams and Titans is huge for the Titans, but I’m not sure why the Rams sold their future.

USF who ever they take better pan out. MMax I feel you on that one bro.

Madmax – I have to agree as well Kwon was a complete unknown to me and like many I had reservations about Jameis but they have both shown their maturity and professionalism.

Brooks is the Jedi master.

This is good stuff! It shows a little humility in that NOBODY knows everything. Seek out those with the knowledge Grasshopper!

Jon Robinson is one heck of a wheeler-dealer.

DB knew the entire defense. Most of them did. I remember reading about how it allowed them to do their jobs individually when they knew exactly what their teammates would be doing.

This entire team is being infected with passion and will to succees. You van just feel it its not a false hope its actually finally happening. Things are changing for the better I am so glad the skies are clearing and the sun will be shining bright with a bunch of loud, drunk, happy, passionate bucs fans filling ray jay and watching good football!!!

Jameis and Kwon are leaders already but imagine them when they get into there prime. It’s scary how good these guys can become if they stay on the right track and continue to,work hard at becoming the best.
G-MAC might be the leader on defense, but Kwon is the vocal leader. And we all know who the leader is on offense. The alpha male himself, Winston baby!
The reason they call him WINSTON is because he WINS-TONS of games.
