Brooks Ready For Sitdown With Kwon

“Let’s do this, Kwon.”
Earlier this week, Joe brought word that Kwon Alexander wanted a sitdown with Bucs icon and Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks to tap into the former linebacker great’s vast knowledge.
Kwon even Twittered out his request to Brooks.
So yesterday, Joe asked Kwon, when he spoke before the local pen and mic club from One Buc Palace, if he had yet broken bread with Brooks. Not yet, Kwon said, but it is a near-future goal.
“I’m trying to schedule a meeting next week,” Kwon said. “I’m just trying to pick his brain. He’s a Hall of Famer, so that’s where I want to be one day so I’m trying to get everything – whatever he gives me, I’m going to take it all in and help my teammates, too. So everything he gives me, I’m just going to go out there and use it against everybody else. Me and my teammates, too.”
Tight there is not just a great teammate, but someone who has warmed the hearts of the Bucs’ brass. One main reason the Bucs (read: Jason Licht) fell in love with America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, during the draft process was Jameis’ passion to not just win, but to improve. Whatever it takes, including the mental aspect of game.
What Jameis is to the offense, Kwon has morphed into for the defense: a guy with a burning passion to improve and to win.
If one can learn something from a Hall of Famer, just one thing, then that might mean a win or two down the road. It’s the type of mentality and drive Licht seeks in players.
And yesterday afternoon, Brooks took to Twitter to let Bucs fans know the sitdown with Kwon is on.

Kevin mention something that stood out to him after listening to his presser from yesterday be stated he wants to make this defense the number 1 D in the league. What stood out to me was when stated “the way I work everyone will work”along with one day wanting to be a HOFr. Sound like to me a leader of this defense has been born. Man you gotta love the lofty expectations of these young boys.

How many 21 year olds are thinking about absorbing knowledge from the wise ones? From the ones that have been in the trenches..from the ones that have proven to the world they are the best..
I swear that press conference said a lot about Kwon..I can’t remember the last time I was this captivated by a rookie ( well now 2nd year vet).
I’ve watched the Atlanta game, week 8 so many times on my computer. watching this young man. and the passion the team played that day.
I’m on my way now to pick up my new adoptee kitten..naming Kwon for sure..and he’s a feisty one..actually both of them are..lol..

Life Kwon’s performance in that atlanta game one word “whoa”. I was speechless watching him that game I couldn’t believe it. I was like d@$! we finally have someone that has stood up to Julio.

I agree, when I saw Kwon run down Julio, I was like wow!!! I have not seen something like that since Ben Johnson in the 1998 Olymics!!! But that was not the only play!! He had the heart of a Champion,,, It was like watching Lance Armstrong ride up the mountain just lapping the field!!!!
