Bobby Rainey Has News
April 10th, 2016Free agent Bucs running back Bobby Rainey has news of his NFL status.
Per his Instagram account, Rainey states his “new home” will be with the New York Giants.
Joe wishes Rainey well and thought he had a raw deal with Coach My Scheme. The Bucs had a logjam at running back.
Well, looks like the Bucs need a return man.

There’s a certain wr from Oklahoma that could definitely handle those return duties

Rainey has done well carving out an NFL career for himself as a UDFA. Pretty effective runner if you ask me. Good Luck Bobby.

So now that Rainey has signed elsewhere and Moore too – now all we need is for Melton, Bruce Carter, Tony McDaniel and Mike Jenkins to sign decent deals with other teams and we might get a 7th round compensatory pick. 🙂

Wondering whats going on with Danny Lansanah?..he seems to want to stay in Tampa..
And I’ve spent the afternoon with Kenny Bell..well sort of..on twitch..such a cool guy!
And going back to the Rainey deal..I do pull a bit for the Giants but never against us..

Pickgrin….not a chance we get a compensatory pick JR Sweezys contract is bigger than Rainey Carter and Moore combined

Even if we for some dumb reason kept rainey, we would still need a returnman. Rainey muffed more punts last season than I’ve ever seen a returnman muff in a season. Dexter Jackson (the bad one) was at least able to catch the ball.
It is not good when you expect your returnman to muff a punt. Hold your breath everytime, hoping he justblets it bounce and gets away from the ball altogether. Hopefully a guy like Bell can develop that skillset to be a returnman. He has a quickness for the job. It could be his best chance at staying on the roster.

Rainey’s a half-serviceable #2 or #3 RB so not a real loss for the Bucs. They can pick up players like him in the late rounds or as UDFA’s all day long, on the cheap. It was real, it was (at times) good, but it wasn’t real good. See ya.

“Joe wishes Rainey well and thought he had a raw deal with Coach My Scheme.”
“Coach My Scheme” was a defensive coach. He didn’t have an offensive scheme.
Rainey wasn’t good enough or hungry enough. He could have claimed the starting role of he had put his best foot forward. Martin had two bad years. Rainey had his chances.
