Jameis Describes Preparing Gameday Jameis
February 11th, 2016Fans demand to know how America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, prepares for game days.
That question was hurled at Jameis from a fan via the Buccaneers Radio Network just prior to the 2015 season finale.
Without hesitation, Jameis described his 15-plus hour days.
“Just watching film. Watching film. Usually, I get here about 5:45 in the morning, and my day starts then, and I finish studying blitz cut-ups and third downs at 9 [p.m.] in my bed,” Jameis said. “I have an alarm on my phone that tells me to study my blitz cut-ups and third downs. But that’s how I prepare. I just lock myself in my little room, or in the film room up here [at One Buc Palace.] Watch as much as I can, study a little bit, other than that, I just listen to Coach Koetter and go out there and perform.”
Jameis went on to say he’s not one for significant gameday rituals, outside of putting the left leg of his uniform pants on before the right. He’s says leading up to kickoff he’s all about studying and then, “I just let it flow.”
The Bucs report back for the 2016 season in just 53 short days, but fans should sleep at night knowing that Jameis is at the command.
If you missed Part I of Joe’s interview with Jameis at the Pro Bowl, then you missed Jameis explaining that he personally will get back to work in early February, and that he was running around the Pro Bowl scene seeking knowledge from many greats of the game.

Last 3 teams to win the super bowl had one thing in common. 2 shut down cornerbacks and 2 pass rushers
February 11th, 2016 at 12:34 pm
The only players we need are more Jameises and more Alexanders.
More (JW) FIRE and (AK) WOOD!!!!! We will burn the NFL all the way to the Super Bowl…

Last night while driving around lost…I drove right into One Buc Place and made a UTurn in there..I stopped my car and stepped out and just stared at the beautiful building and I could have sworn I saw a vision of a big massive party there in the near future…a playoff or maybe SB party..
I was sober…but I did eat one too many Krystal burgers..so maybe it was heartburn..lol..
But I did place a good juju vibe there! And back I drove to my New Tampa home..with a smile on my face..

So he knows his phone has an alarm clock? He’s already proven smarter than Freeman!!

Speaking for Pablo
“Pablo has an alarm on his phone too….it wakes Pablo up at 6am to go out on hot Pasco County roofs…..then there is an alarm to alert Pablo to study exotic dance moves…..so now Pablo has at least three things in common with Humus…Pablo & Hamus have alarms and get up early….Pablo and Hamus have elongated arcs…..and 87 loves both Hamus & Pablo

Okay…am I the only one that thought that was really funny?

Other than Dougie…who on that list is really worth keeping if we’re drafting and signing new defensive players?
February 11th, 2016 at 5:59 pm
LOL Clodhopper
February 11th, 2016 at 5:59 pm
@BB
Sterling Moore for sho….he proved he could lock down wide receivers. Just ask Julio Jones, Big mouth Dez and a few others who couldn’t get it done against Moore. Every one else is expendable.

Here’s a list of free agents worth sniffing, either for starting roles or for depth. Some of these won’t be available when the bell rings probably…which is why they are only worth sniffing.
AND NO TO GREG HARDY, LUV!
lol 🙂
February 11th, 2016 at 6:33 pm
Forgot the list, lol
DE Olivier Vernon
WR Travis Benjamin
WR Marvin Jones
WR Rishard Matthews
WR Rueben Randle
WR Jermaine Kearse
OLB Von Miller
February 11th, 2016 at 7:58 pm
Tony McDaniel and Sterling Moore will be resigned as well as Martin.
Regarding targeted players:
Miller will be resigned, maybe franchised, either way.
As far as the DE Vernon, he has some promise, I like him as well. He’s going to be expensive at 10+mil a season. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t sign him, he’s just a bigger risk. This wouldn’t prevent a need to draft one.
I like Malik Jackson as well, even tho he is a 3-4 guy. Nick Fairley is another intriguing option.
I ‘d like to see us draft a WR somewhere in the draft.

@ 7423
Yeah ,makes perfect sense doesn’t it’s
Your comment also instantly made me wonder how may ex Bucs have gone on to rings elsewhere.
February 11th, 2016 at 8:47 pm
OLB Danny Lansanah (restricted)
RB Doug Martin
DT Tony McDaniel
DT Henry Melton
CB Sterling Moore
WR Russell Shepard (restricted)
CB Jordan Tandy
I’d keep these guys, I think they bring value.
And I would add fan favorite Mark Barron to the list of FA agents we should look at.

“Other than that I just listen to coach Koetter and go out there and perform.”
So there you have it. It has been Kotter not Lovie, who played the largest role in Winstons development. I am of the belief that Lovie actually INHIBITED Jameis’s growth under Kotter, which is one of the reasons that I am willing to bet on big things for this offense next season.
Still not sold on Mike Smith though
February 11th, 2016 at 8:55 pm
I do not believe Jonathan banks is expendable. He is way to young and a second round pick. They need to throw him out there every snap next season and see how he grows
February 11th, 2016 at 10:24 pm
It’s funny..I go around reading other team’s boards and they have pretty much the same names in their free agency lists..lol!
