GMC: Bigger Goals For Jameis
February 8th, 2016Yes, Bucs fans were miffed late Saturday when they learned America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, was shamed by Associated Press voters, who turned against America and voted a running back, Todd Gurley of the Rams, NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
On Friday, fan votes honored Jameis as Pepsi Rookie of the Year.
Joe noticed a man who shared in the frustration of Bucs fans was none other than Gerald McCoy. The stud defensive tackle took to social media yesterday and assured fans Jameis is not only the rookie of the year but there are bigger and better things to come from America’s Quarterback.
@Geraldini93: He didn’t win AP Rookie of the Year but next year he WILL be the MVP. It’s gonna happen!!
Joe sure hopes so. If anything, this might be fuel to fire Jameis’ engine. Then again, Jameis never struck Joe as a guy who wants anything less than wins.
If this snub motivates Jameis, look out. Dude was motivated to begin with.

Chip on the shoulder of a kid like that can’t hurt.

27 votes to 17 for Jameis, just doesn’t add up. Haters gonna hate… plus Gurley missed 25% of the season????

Winston is not going to be happy until he hosts the Lombardi. simple as that. Then he’s going to be motivated to hoist again… This young mans desire to win is second to none…

It was fantastic to see how mentally weak cam is lmao!!!! Yeah he is mvp but he is not russle Wilson glad to see the panthers fall 0-2 in the Super Bowl

I can’t conceive of Jameis acting like Newton after a loss….I am so happy that Cammy has exposed himself as the self-centered jerk he really is. It was a disgrace to his teammates, coaches and fans to act like that. He certainly didn’t represent his MVP award.
Hopefully, we will craft a defense that will wipe that smile off his face.

This is about boosting interest in LA. Nothing more. Gurley had a nice rookie season, he would’ve ranked third on the bucs for rookie rushers. Winston top 4 passing yards for a rookie in the history of the league.
February 8th, 2016 at 11:17 am
Gurley maybe had a top 12ish rookie campaign as a RB
Statistically Winston had a top 3ish type rookie campaign for a QB
Simple as that for me but whatever

Some media will never give Jameis credit. He’s Americas villain until he wins

The great thing about this young man is he ONLY plays fpr 1 trophy and thats the 1 Peyton manning won last night. So lets gett ready for some great games that really mean something

Give this man some help. And by help I don’t mean on offense. Get this man Von Miller! Pay whatever he wants, give the Broncos a pick and a player if need be.

I’m not singling anyone out here but, can we please stop saying “simple as that.”
Some of us are trying to forget that train wreck.

it’s good to remember the pain (train wreck) it makes success that much sweeter. Since I admire your loyalty and unconditional support of Winston so much I will personally stop using it.
February 8th, 2016 at 12:08 pm
I’m as upset as anyone else that Jameis didn’t get picked but…
Congratulations to Gurley.

Here is what happened, Rams are playing in LA next year, LA only cares about name power. The NFL is protecting their investment in LA by giving the marketing department the rookie of the year title to work with. Done, conspiracy solved.
February 8th, 2016 at 12:10 pm
Lmao….that’s my slogan “futility makes winning sweeter”.
It’s what I preach to depressed Buc fans at RJS on gamedays.

very accurate sir… Offense fills the seats and keeps the media happy and defense wins championships.
February 8th, 2016 at 12:38 pm
Unfortunately….Lovie wasn’t the only one saddled with 4 losses at the end of the year….deserved or not….I’m quite certain that hurt Jameis too.

That’s exactly what happened..I said it even before the announcement of Gurley winning it..

Funny thing is Gurley isn’t even the best running back in his class. David Johnson owns that title.
February 8th, 2016 at 7:29 pm
I agree with TBBF. That four game swoon at the end of the year cost Lovie his job and #3 his offensive ROY award.
February 8th, 2016 at 9:43 pm
FSU controversy caused #3 not to get ROTY. Neither of the other “winners” broke or tied more records than #3.
