GMC: Jameis Is My Brother
January 6th, 2016Of course, until we learn the full details, and we may never learn the full details, the stunning news of Lovie Smith being axed by Team Glazer this evening leaves all sorts of questions and speculation as to why.
Aside from the record under Lovie (second-worst of any Bucs coach), fans can point to many things. One is the concept that the locker room was split into factions, on one side stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy — and in the other corner, America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.
That is just nonsense! Says who? Says GMC.
One of the best defensive tackles in the game took to Twitter tonight to clear the air in the aftermath of Lovie’s firing. GMC said there is zero rift between him and Jameis and the two are part of a tribe of men trying to lead the Bucs out of the darkness.
@Geraldini93: And if you believe me and Jameis are beefing you’re an idiot. Stop believing everything you read!! That’s my brother!! Straight up!!
So there you have it. There is no rancor between Jameis and GMC. If you don’t believe GMC, then that is your call.
January 6th, 2016 at 11:30 pm
This was the dumbest non-story ever. Can’t believe people are so stupid to actually believe this crap in the first place.
January 6th, 2016 at 11:30 pm
Don’t think there’s any issue between them. Never really did.
McCoy was thrust into leadership as the only start on the team. Now we have Jameis, McCoy can just worry about playing to the best of his ability.
January 6th, 2016 at 11:32 pm
That’s fine and dandy. Now McCoy follow your leader Jameis Winston to the playoffs.
January 6th, 2016 at 11:35 pm
I guess GMC reads JBF!!!!! Was that tweet a shot at the Joe’s?????
January 6th, 2016 at 11:38 pm
I called that Stroud stuff purely speculative…..I’m sure they both know its in their collective best interest to get along….

Na na na na, hey hey-hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye

Here is one for you 87
Ain’t no lovie in the heart of the city
Ain’t no lovie in the heart of town
Ain’t no lovie and it’s sure nuff a pity
Ain’t no lovie cause you ain’t around
January 6th, 2016 at 11:42 pm
lol TBBF…I pondered that one for a bit too…
January 6th, 2016 at 11:43 pm
We get along just fine. If anything, Joe has been a GMC defender. He knows that.
January 6th, 2016 at 11:43 pm
Maybe Jo shouldn’t add fuel to that fire with speculation nor should some locals sports beat writers who claimed to know what is in GMCs head.
January 6th, 2016 at 11:45 pm
It breaks your heart in two, To know he’s been untrue
But oh what will you do? Then he said to you
There’s someone new We’re through We’re through
It’s over It’s over It’s over

It is possible GMC is a little jealous of Winston. GMC loves attention and for a few years he got all of it. Winston came in with a huge personality and people instantly gravitated toward him. Early in the season GMC constantly talked about how he wanted winston to not worry about being a leader and all that. I have no doubt Winston and GMC are great pals. But I’m sure GMC is a little jealous over how Winston burst on to the scene and stole GMC’s Thunder.

You fans that are so happy about this firing are ridiculous. Take a look on Twitter, watch the NFL network, your Tampa Bay Buccaneers players are pissed and depressed, not one of them wanted this. You think Doug Martin’s re-signing back here? You think 4 coaches in 7 years makes free agents want to show up here?
With glazier kids in charge stability does not exist and the team just keeps getting set back 2 years every time they step 1 year forward.
January 6th, 2016 at 11:51 pm
Well we thought were going to have a depressing boring offseason of in-fighting on JBF. I guess that goes out the window now.
January 6th, 2016 at 11:51 pm
Dave …name all these players?
January 6th, 2016 at 11:53 pm
Who are the players Dave?
January 6th, 2016 at 11:54 pm
Bowers and LVD…that’s all I see. Bowers?
January 6th, 2016 at 11:55 pm
It’s great to want continuity. But sticking with a losing coach that no one thinks highly of is not the right kind of continuity. We want a winning program. We don’t need a coach whose defense got arguably worse in year 2. I supported Lovie and defended to some degree because he was our coach. But the defense he is known for and was hired for is not what anyone should expect. Year 1 we can understand some hiccups. But this entire season was pretty pathetic for the defense. I understand it takes time to build something great. But you have to trust the architect building it. And quiet frankly not many people were confident in the direction of the team. As soon as you have doubts you need to move on. It sucks. I’m sure the owners and bucs fans wish Lovie earned the right be the head coach here. But sadly, he didn’t.

TruBuc…great points and ticket sales? What ticket sales? Fans would hang up on the operators.
January 6th, 2016 at 11:58 pm
Dave-
Then they should’ve played harder and won more games
Simple as that
January 6th, 2016 at 11:58 pm
Let’s get Chuckie back.
January 6th, 2016 at 11:58 pm
Kwon. Posted he was shocked. I thinking everyone, especially the players, are shocked it happened like this with no warning. And like the good stand up men they are, they are showing their support to their head coach.
Notice how the players didn’t react this way when schiano was fired? And people wonder why schiano was fired.

Dave….these are the players that got him fired…..they have no right to be depressed……they are responsible……think about it!!!
January 7th, 2016 at 12:03 am
Now shut up and follow the leader Aunt Geraldine!
January 7th, 2016 at 12:04 am
You can’t keep a coach just because you want continuity, it’s gotta be someone worth the time. What if we gave Lovie 10 years of this franchise, with no division titles, no playoffs, no winning records. Well at least we stuck with a head coach for once. As fans we deserve better. Don’t you think?
January 7th, 2016 at 12:04 am
Well I’m off for a very good nights rest my fellow JBFers. I should wake up with a smile on my face in the morning.
Have fun. 🙂
Oh Happy Day – Sister Act 2

The players are sticking up for a friend. This is a business. They know this stuff happens. Lovie was not the right coach for a young team. I’m just glad the Tampa 2 will finally be gone!! And we would be stupid to pay Martin a ton of money to a guy who had a good contract year n did nothing the 2 years before that. Sims is a nice back n this drat n the next draft are loaded with studs. Running Backs r a dime a dozen. Keep that 30 mil for some new linemen on both sides of the ball n guys n the secondary. Is Eric Berry going to be a FA this year? We have like 50 mil in cap space. I’m glad Lovie won’t be here to waste it again.
January 7th, 2016 at 12:04 am
Joe can assure you that is a flat out incorrect statement, specifically the last phrase.
January 7th, 2016 at 12:07 am
LOL Joe…notice how he didn’t come up with a list?
Only on JBF.
Okay G’night.
January 7th, 2016 at 12:07 am
I don’t the players got Lovie fired. Lovie did a good enough job of digging his own grave. 17 weeks into the season and he was still trying to figure out which CBs he liked the most. As Joe posted earlier, his defense gave up the worst third down rates in the last 20 years. Sure the players play the game. But the coaches do have a big impact on the outcome of games.
January 7th, 2016 at 12:09 am
@ Buc1987
McCoy, Lavonte, Kwon and Spence (probably even more, but those are the ones i saw) all Tweeted negative reactions after the news broke. most have been deleted by now.
January 7th, 2016 at 12:15 am
Trust me…..the players got Lovie fired……game after game, penalty after penalty…..coming out flat….getting torched…..sure the HC is responsible overall….but if players play well….teams win….and teams that win retain their coaches….(except Lovie 10-6 in Chicago & Gruden 9-7 in Tpa)
January 7th, 2016 at 12:14 pm
So, GMC isn’t an enemy to Winston. Just like I said yesterday. Idiots, all of you.
