Friday, July 10th, 2015

GilkeyIt’s the countdown feature you’ve all been waiting for. Not really, but on the heels of last year’s award-winning “20 Worst Buccaneers Of The Past 10 years” feature, Joe had to deliver.

A list like this is highly subjective and toxic. Fits of rage were common during production meetings at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters. Scared interns soiled their pants. Full beer bottles were smashed, and a treasured Rachel Watson poster was accidently destroyed. But order was restored.

Current and former general managers and head coaches might not like what’s coming, but it had to be done. This is what happens when your team is 30-70 in its last 100 games. (more…)

Chances of starting examined.

Chances of starting examined.

Sure, Joe is all about competition. Until there is no competition.

That’s what is happening in the case of quarterback of the past and quarterback of the future and perhaps quarterback of the present, Mike Glennon, and “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston. (more…)

Rainey Can Move The Chains

Friday, July 10th, 2015
Few running backs were able to turn catches into first downs as well as Bobby Rainey did last year.

Few running backs were able to turn catches into first downs as well as Bobby Rainey did last year.

Good grief, all the wacko things that happened to the Bucs last year, Joe can’t count them all.

Turnover-prone Josh McClown, Ghost Johnson, Anthony Collins… and that is just the guys the Bucs signed. That’s not counting the guys they ran off who were productive with other teams. (more…)

Bucs Receivers In Top-25

Thursday, July 9th, 2015
Top 25.

Top 25.

Joe has consistently written that if there are NFL teams with a better one-two punch at wide receiver, if there are teams ahead of the Bucs on such a list, that list is damn short. (more…)

Will Bucs Defense Rise Up?

Thursday, July 9th, 2015
Is Lovie Smith's defense in for another long year?

Is Lovie Smith’s defense in for another long year?

In the early handful of games last year, Lovie Smith’s famed defense was chain-whipped like few teams ever have been.

They were lit up so bad by the Crows and the Dixie Chicks that one didn’t dare light a cigar with the defense on the field because they were so flammable. (more…)

Fireworks Stupidity Hits Bucs

Wednesday, July 8th, 2015

Still won’t acknowledge “America’s Quarterback.”

The man closest to “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, on the football field this summer and fall and winter will be none other than center Evan (nee: Dietrich-) Smith, who didn’t seem too fond of Jameis after the NFL Draft.

Smith continued his strange silent-treatment public stance on Jameis yesterday. (more…)
