Seven years ago today Joe fired up this website and never turned back — seven full years obsessing 24/7 about all things Bucs on these pages.
It all started with a laptop and a dream. (more…)
About 25 minutes after Buccaneers practice ended yesterday, after Jameis Winston already signed autographs, a crowd of Bucs fans demanded more.
This scene has become a daily ritual at training camp at One Buc Palace. (more…)
Henry Melton lined up at defensive end yesterday, but Lovie Smith directly cautioned Joe not to read into that and, per Lovie, it likely only happened because the other defensive ends were tired.
First, Joe doesn’t buy it. Second, Gerald McCoy doesn’t seem to, either. (more…)
There is one true alpha dog in the locker room of the Bucs; one true leader; one go-to guy to get the pulse of the team. His name is Gerald McCoy and he is the best player on the squad (with apologies to the next-best player, Lavonte David). (more…)
This will not be a traditional 2015 preseason.
The Buccaneers must prepare America’s Quarterback, 21-year-old Jameis Winston, to defeat Hall of Fame genius Dick LeBeau and Marcus Mariota on opening day. (more…)
theMMQB.com reports offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter’s inner circle suggests he wanted to draft Marcus Mariota
Nothing like potentially coming across a bombshell just after midnight when surfing for Bucs news. And Joe is pretty certain it’s inaccurate.
Good guy Andy Benoit, a yeoman of NFL research for theMMQB.com, offered a piece of information that is likely to rile up a lot of folks. (more…)
Joe had totally forgotten about the Bucs’ Vine account, which posts shareable highlights.
Naturally, since “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, was threading the needle yesterday, the highlights featured Jameis.
Enjoy! (more…)
What Bucs superstar wide receiver Mike Evans told Joe this afternoon was nearly unbelievable.
Joe is glad there was one other reporter there to witness the exchange. (more…)
Joe is aware there are fans who have been run from their neighborhood watering hole due to throwing beer mugs at TVs. Why? because opposing quarterbacks sit in the pocket so long they can order a pizza — and have the damned thing delivered — before a Bucs defender gets to the same zip code. (more…)
Bucs TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins looks to be a big-time target given how often he is thrown to in practices.
Joe isn’t sure how many folks have come out to Bucs practices this month; there have been thousands thus far. But one thing Joe is confident fans there have seen is how often “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, has targeted his off-field pal, Austin Seferian-Jenkins. (more…)
The full swelter was on today, as Bucs practice kicked off at 2:30 p.m. Joe’s got all kinds of news, notes and nuggets.
Enjoy. (more…)
Joe has pounded his head against walls repeatedly because the Bucs drafted a Division III guard in the second round and planned to start him, and then buried him with second- and third-teamers during training camp and OTAs.
Well, today was Marpet’s coming out party — in pads, with the first team. (more…)
Joe will have plenty on Ali Marpet’s first day as a first-team right guard.
Here’s a preview. (more…)
Bucs coach Lovie Smith said recently that there will be ups and downs with “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston. Part of that roller coaster is because Jameis is a rookie. (more…)
Yes, the narrative is now set. “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, is going to be an out and out interception artist because he threw a handful of picks… in two practices in the first week of his first NFL training camp! (more…)
Joe finds it amusing that some Bucs fans, and national media types, are wringing their hands because “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, has thrown some picks in practices.
Three Sunday and Tuesday, and two of his first three passes were interceptions. (more…)
Joe’s already called opening day against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 13 in Tampa a “must-win.”
It’s not a must-win for the standings. Duh. But it is necessary for the psyche of a Bucs fan base that hasn’t seen a home victory since 2013, and compares Jameis Winston to Marcus Mariota. (more…)
The Buccaneers weren’t the worst team when it came to notching sacks last year. Tampa Bay was 21st in the league with 36.
However, the Bucs’ pass rush was anemic. (more…)
Defensive line coach Joe Cullen always seems to be screaming, but he’s got to be liking what he’s seen through training camp.
Joe’s got more video of the trench warfare at One Buc Palace! (more…)
A pretty cool Mike Evans interview by Charley Casserly aired Tuesday on NFL Network. And Evans isn’t really known for giving decent interviews. (more…)
