Just a quick practice update from One Buc Palace:
Vincent Jackson was in shorts but that doesn’t mean he is resting today. Jackson caught a lot of balls gunned out of a Jugs machine. From what Joe has heard previously, it would be very much a surprise if Jackson plays Sunday against the Cowboys, but at least he is keeping his pass-catching skills sharp. (more…)
Mike Evans has a plan to help raise his game. (more…)
On this Veteran’s Day, those who served in the Armed Forces should be proud, and so should all Americans for their service.
But for the football veterans on the Bucs, this season is not (yet) something to be proud of. (more…)
Demar Dotson has returned to the Buccaneers’ roster and will not start Sunday, he revealed with a somber tone this afternoon. (more…)
Good news from the Bucs’ locker room this afternoon started with Ali Marpet walking around with his injured ankle bare and only a slight limp. (more…)
The Bucs already have attempted more field goals through half of this season than they did all of last year. (more…)
Would you toss your infant to Mike Evans? (more…)
FOX broadcast cameras caught America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, doing something unique that didn’t surprise Trent Dilfer. (more…)
So who’s the biggest big mouth Lavonte David has played with in his four seasons as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer? (more…)
Lovie Smith, in a rare outburst of anger, went off on Akeem Spence after the defensive tackle, claiming he was blasted in the grill, threw Giants’ center Weston Richburg to the ground drawing a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness on the Giants’ final drive, all but killing any chance of a Bucs comeback. (more…)
Former Bucs commander Greg Schiano once told Joe that before he came to Tampa Bay, he never heard of a starting NFL quarterback who didn’t stop in the office on the player’s off day, if for no other reason than to have medical treatment or maybe do a little prep work. (more…)
Joe just wants to take a moment to thanks both those who served in uniform for our country, and those currently serving.
Joe knows that there are guys (girls?) out there serving overseas that read this site daily, and Joe is thinking of you today and is appreciative of your service. Thanks to all, past and present.
Both Joes who run this here site had fathers that served in the Pacific Theater in World War II, so we understand what your service means. It is because of folks like you, Joe is able to guzzle beer and watch football all weekend long (when not covering the Bucs). If not for honorable people like our veterans, Joe might be subjected to drinking some sports drink and watching soccer, if you can imagine such a dire existence.
Joe will perform his Veteran’s Day tradition and encourages others to join in. Joe goes to a local VFW or American Legion Hall each Nov. 11, drops cash on the bar, orders the bartender to buy each veteran a round, and then Joe walks out. A small token of gratitude to those who served.
Thanks!
It was 3rd-and-goal from the Giants’ 10 yard line.
Another field goal wasn’t going to cut it. (more…)
A mystery surrounding the Bucs this season is the lack of throws to tight ends.
It’s almost as if offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter has waved the white flag since Austin Seferian-Jenkins was injured. (more…)
The Bucs still have a prayer of getting to seven wins and somehow, some way, backing into the playoffs.
As Joe has written before, four of the past five seasons, a team with an 8-8 record or worse has made the playoffs. (more…)
The days of the Bucs giving up the booty left and right on slant passes should be over.
Lavonte David says the scouting report on the Tampa Bay defense should be changed. (more…)
Joe thinks it’s a no-brainer that Bucs right tackle Gosder Cherilus should keep his job as a starter. (more…)
