Selfish players leading to penalties?

Selfish players leading to penalties?

Lovie Smith’s defense is beset by penalties.

Wheter it is maddening calls for lining up in the neutral zone, or just downright dumb penalties for unnecessary roughness, the mental lapses on defense are fueling the Bucs to become the most penalized team in NFL history. (more…)

Still haunting.

Still haunting.

Joe asked Dirk Koetter today about his apparent disinterest in analytics and data. And Koetter unloaded.

Joe asked Dirk Koetter today about his apparent disinterest in analytics and data. Koetter unloaded, “I don’t need a freakin’ piece of paper.”

It’s safe to say Bucs’ offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter doesn’t subscribe to Pro Football Focus.

Quick Practice Update

vincent jackson 1111

Vincent Jackson may not be able to practice, but he is still keeping his hands sharp.

Just a quick practice update from One Buc Palace:

Vincent Jackson was in shorts but that doesn’t mean he is resting today. Jackson caught a lot of balls gunned out of a Jugs machine. From what Joe has heard previously, it would be very much a surprise if Jackson plays Sunday against the Cowboys, but at least he is keeping his pass-catching skills sharp. (more…)

Play of rookies like RG Ali Marpet is not the problem for the Bucs.

On this Veteran’s Day, those who served in the Armed Forces should be proud, and so should all Americans for their service.

But for the football veterans on the Bucs, this season is not (yet) something to be proud of. (more…)

Wednesday, November 11th, 2015
Could the Bucs have sent a strong message to the team by releasing DT Akeem Spence Monday?

Could the Bucs have sent a strong message to the team by releasing Akeem Spence yesterday?

Lovie Smith, in a rare outburst of anger, went off on Akeem Spence after the defensive tackle, claiming he was blasted in the grill, threw Giants’ center Weston Richburg to the ground drawing a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness on the Giants’ final drive, all but killing any chance of a Bucs comeback.
