The NFC South $20 Million Club

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015

cam newton 1201There’s a reason Joe screamed from rooftops for the Buccaneers to draft Johnny Manziel or Teddy Bridgewater last year.

There’s a reason Joe demanded the Bucs draft Jameis Winston, beginning with Joe’s daily Jameis Watch that started in early November. (more…)

“Could Be Exceptional”

As Joe told his good friend “The Big Dog,” Steve Duemig of WDAE-AM 620, during the JoeBucsFan.com Hour yesterday, six wins would be nice progress because that would mean the Bucs tripled their win total from 2014

And folks, as Joe stated live on the air, the Bucs were 2-14 for a reason. The team stunk out loud and had a whole bunch of holes.

Even though it takes more than one offseason to repair a hole-filled 2-14 team, Matt Waldman of Football Outsider believes the Bucs could be sitting on a dynamic offense immediately. (more…)

glazer and licht

Fans screamed at former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik for not spending enough in free agency. When he did, fans turned on him for buying the wrong players.

Man, sometimes you just can’t win.

When Lovie Smith and AC/DC-loving GM Jason Licht went all drunken sailor with the Team Glazer checkbook last year, fans rejoiced. But the team went 2-14 and won the Chase for Jameis. (more…)

The Rivals Rankings

Rivals.com was dead-on in their ranking of "America's Quarterback" in high school. What about other Bucs players?

Rivals.com was dead-on ranking “America’s Quarterback” in high school. What about other Bucs?

Joe used to get into football recruiting only because it was a reason to escape the four-letter and its unholy crusade to indoctrinate and brainwash innocent Americans with the non-basketball association. (more…)

Bucs WR Mike Evans seems to be just fine from his hamstring tweak of last week.

The latest on Mike Evans’ condition is revealed

Joe was worried last week when Bucs stud wide receiver Mike Evans, on a crossing route from the right, “tweaked” a right hamstring as an offering from Mike Glennon bounced off Evans’ hands. (more…)

Joe likes the promise of “Fat” and Jacquies Smith, the Bucs’ young defensive end finds of 2014. Will Gholston, 23, is maturing and growing.

But Joe gets queasy on the DE front after that. (more…)

“A Man Among Peers”

SalPal is charmed.

SalPal is charmed.

Joe has noticed virtually the entire Buccaneers team has embraced “America’s Quarterback,” Jameis Winston.

That’s easy to do when remembering that Bucs players lobbied general manager, AC/DC-loving Jason Licht to draft him during last year’s 2-14 season.

Good Tackling

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015
Bucs OLB Lavonte David was one of the best linebackers in the NFL for fewest broken tackles allowed in 2014.

Data shows Lavonte David is an elite tackler.

Nothing drives Joe to throw rocks at traffic more than rotten tackling. It drives Joe insane when defenders try to blow up ball carriers, fail to wrap up, and watch said ball carrier run downfield.

Damn, just thinking about it, Joe slammed his mouse on his desk. (more…)

30 Picks

A CBS Sports columnist thinks "America's Quarterback" will do what no NFL QB has done in nearly three decades, and it ain't good.

A CBS Sports columnist thinks “America’s Quarterback” will do what no NFL QB has done in nearly three decades, and it ain’t good.

Joe has heard, seen and read wild stuff spoken and written about “America’s Quarterback,” Jameis Winston, since he last took the field for Florida State.

The best/worst was when NFL Network draft guru Mike Mayock said Winston should have thrown 40 picks last season. (more…)

Yes, you’ve read and heard and watched folks break down the draft of the Bucs, not a month after the fact.

People Need To Calm Down

Monday, June 1st, 2015
"America's Quarterback" has a life outside of football.

“America’s Quarterback” has a life outside of football.

Joe just cannot believe how nuts some Bucs fans are. They whine all the time how the likes of BSPN won’t give the Bucs any attention — frankly, teams that finish 2-14 should get zero national attention other than to be mocked on a daily basis — and once the team gets a superstar and a national celebrity, all of a sudden it is horrible and the guy should be locked in Lovie’s Chicago basement until training camp. Fat > Ghost

Monday, June 1st, 2015

General manager Jason Licht explains.

Joe’s proclaimed several times that one reason the Buccaneers will have a better pass rush this season is the mere absence of ghostly Michael Johnson. (more…)

Another national voice buries the Bucs in the basement

Joe will never forget the night the Bucs drafted “America’s Quarterback,” signal-caller Jameis Winston. In a conference call with the Tampa Bay pen and mic club as Jameis was in his Alabama hometown, Jameis rejoiced over having Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson, both 6-5, as his new targets.

“TWO OF THEM!” Jameis bellowed with glee. (more…)
