Former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik explains some of the mistakes he made during his administration.

Former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik explains some mistakes he made during his administration.

But for one year, the records are terrible. And as former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik said Tuesday, it’s on his resumé.

In what Joe believes is the most telling Dominik has been publicly about his Bucs tenure, Dominik shed light on his former administration, confessed mistakes, and sort of explained why some moves later backfired. (more…)

Magic Didn’t Rub Off

The magic of "America's Quarterback" didn't rub off last night.

The magic of “America’s Quarterback” didn’t rub off last night.

All good things must come to an end. And so it was last night when the Tampa Bay Lightning lost at home to force a Game 7 in the Eastern Conference finals of the Stanley Cup playoffs. (more…)

Joe shared yesterday that pal of Lovie Smith and former Bucs defensive backs coach Herm Edwards believes tools that “America’s Quarterback,” Jameis Winston, has to work with are elite, receivers Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson. (more…)

“Explosive” Development At One Buc Palace

Tuesday, May 26th, 2015

.

Joe really enjoys the Tampa Bay Lightning but can’t bow to the hockey gods, not on this day, not on the first real day of significant practice on the heavenly fields of One Buc Palace.

Media was not allowed in, but Joe had covert drones flying overhead and operatives on the ground. (more…)

A close friend of Lovie weighs in

Joe did not know a close friend and confidante of Lovie Smith, a guy coming to patrol the sidelines at One Buc Palace this summer, once coached Jameis Winston, America’s Quarterback. (more…)

Emotional Akeem Spence Love

Sometimes it’s not what an important Buccaneer says, it’s how he says it.

Joe experienced one of those moments last week at One Buc Palace. (more…)

Don’t Dare Jameis

Video emerges

“America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, and fellow rookie Bryce Petty, who were both clients of quarterbacks guru George Whitfield, showed up at a local Indianapolis high school the day before the two were to throw at the NFL Scouting Combine. (more…)

Improved Offense

Tuesday, May 26th, 2015
Bucs LT Donovan Smith will be a big key if the Bucs can improve their offense this season. His eye candy improves anything.

Rookie left tackle Donovan Smith should be a big key if the Bucs can improve their offense this season. His arm candy improves anything.

When thinking of last year’s truly offensive offense, Joe doesn’t know whether to chug Kaopectate or Bushmills.

That offense was about as miserable as it gets. Juvenile quarterbacking, turnstile blocking, and not one running back who ran for 500 yards. Joe swears Team Glazer could have pulled some PlayStation Warrior out of the beer line at the Den of Depression and had the same production. (more…)

Lovie

As a reader of Joe’s pointed out yesterday, if the Bucs have what Joe expects to be a 6-10 season, that means in two years Bucs coach Lovie Smith has won but eight games. (more…)

What To Expect From Jameis

Tuesday, May 26th, 2015

An ex-NFL offensive lineman breaks it down

So the Buccaneers have their quarterback, “America’s Quarterback,” Jameis Winston. While he may have damned near been Superman in college, he is now playing against grown-arse men, not children.

Jameis may have the work ethic that is expected of a franchise quarterback, but playing the game is a different matter. (more…)

Workin’ On The Holiday

Monday, May 25th, 2015
No holiday for "America's Quarterback."

No holiday for “America’s Quarterback.”

No, Joe does not take off Memorial Day or any holiday. That’s what separates Joe from other sites. Easter, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, Earth Day, doesn’t matter. Joe posts stories. (more…)

A 12-4 Turnaround?

Monday, May 25th, 2015
Double-digit wins means postseason honors for "America's Quarterback," Jameis Winston.

Double-digit wins means postseason honors for “America’s Quarterback,” Jameis Winston.

Joe is on record claiming six wins this year is solid progress for the Bucs, tripling a win total from the previous season.

Though fans may not want to think this way, the Bucs were the worst lot in the NFL for a reason last year. The. Team. Was. Rotten. (more…)

Jump On The Bandwagon

Monday, May 25th, 2015

rachel watson 0525

Yes, the bandwagon is welcoming newcomers on board.

That’s the Lightning bandwagon, in which suddenly, with the Bolts now one win from the Stanley Cup Finals, has virtually everyone in the Tampa Bay area a hockey expert like the guy sitting in the corner of the bar in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, drooling over Kathryn Tappen on NHL Network. (more…)

Happy Memorial Day!

Monday, May 25th, 2015

memorial day

Joe just loves the summer. No more coats. No more cold. And when women wear less and less clothes, there is no way in Joe’s eyes that is a bad thing.

It also helps that the summer is traditionally bookmarked by three-day weekends, with America’s birthday right smack dab in the middle. (more…)

Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders is not enamored with Bucs DE Jacquies Smith.

Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders is not enamored by DE Jacquies Smith.

Joe understands how some readers are irked at Joe for harping on the Bucs’ offensive line. Well, they haven’t done anything to make Joe stop kvetching.

As OTAs resume later this week, two starting positions — left tackle and right guard — are up for grabs between four guys, only one of which has taken a regular-season snap: Kevin Pamphile, one of the two “Milk Cartons.” (more…)

Is Today The Day For Ribs On The Grill?

Sunday, May 24th, 2015
barbecue

This is not Logan Mankins, to the best of Joe’s knowledge.

On this weekend notorious for grilling meat and washing it down with an array of barbecue sauces, iced cocktails and glorious beer, Joe is wondering whether the Buccaneers’ offensive line is finally curing what ailed it last season.

Of course, Joe’s talking about their lack of proper barbecue bonding. (more…)

George Johnson: Always Win Now

New Bucs DE George Johnson, shown here in his first go-round with the Bucs, went off on Twitter yesterday about teams no focused on winning.

New Bucs DE George Johnson, shown here in his first go-round with the Bucs, went off on Twitter yesterday about teams not focused on winning.

Joe loves passion from football players because that often means losing tears at their very soul.

Then again, you have to be careful who is displaying such emotion. Anthony Collins used to get bent out of shape at losing, too. (more…)
