Grilling Logan Mankins discusses how refreshing a new season is for him.
You know how dogs hide behind couches and under beds from the Florida lightning storms? Well, dogs (and cats) trembled for their well-being on football Sundays last year, the way Bucs fans stomped around the neighborhood in outrage over a kick-in-the-nuts 2-14 season. (more…)

Chemistry is flowing between Jameis Winston and Bucs veterans.
Joe captured a telling moment today at One Buc Palace, a gesture from Jameis Winston, America’s Quarterback, that sparked a response from Vincent Jackson — and conjured memories of a beloved former Tampa Bay figure. (more…)

The Sporting News does not believe Lovie is trending forward. Photo courtesy of Buccaneers.com.
Once upon a time, Lovie Smith was the toast of the NFL.
Guiding the Chicago Bears to a Super Bowl with the ball-and-chain known as Rex Grossman was a feat that had the frostbitten souls of the Windy City toasting their disgusting Old Style swill. (more…)

Tampa Bay is back on the practice field this afternoon for Day 1 of their three-day mandatory minicamp. It’s still underwear football, but Joe will get to watch all the two-hour sessions and mingle with players afterwards.
Come back for all kinds of goodies.

Robert Herron should be worried.
Right about now, the myth that speed equals football talent should be put to rest by Bucs fans.
Oh, Joe remembers how way too many jumped up and down on their beds when the Bucs got track star Jeff Demps. (more…)

John Clayton is not impressed.
Yesterday, Joe brought words that gave many a Bucs fan the shivers.
Woody Cummings of The Tampa Tribune said the quarterback of the past and quarterback of the future but not the quarterback of the present, Mike Glennon, has a slight upperhand in OTA practices over “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston. (more…)

NFL.com pillories Doug Martin and his fellow Bucs RBs.
Joe has typed and typed and typed how there is a reason the Bucs stunk up the NFL last year and finished 2-14. They had more holes than a beehive. (more…)

Could new/old Bucs TE Tim Wright be the best on the roster? Ten teams wanted him.
When the Bucs plucked former tight end Tim Wright after Bill Belicheat tossed him to the curb, it was a no-brainer. A nice move by Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht.
Look, the Bucs are 2-14. Any time a young guy with a ring is available, the Bucs ought to be all over him like a hungry dog on a steak. (more…)

Yes, Joe was surprised when the Bucs claimed tight end Tim Wright off waivers after he was cut by Bill Belicheat. It is a pleasant surprise.
