Playoffs And The Bucs
December 1st, 2015Look, the Bucs are sort of on the outside looking in for a wild card berth. Letting a win slip away from them in Indianapolis erected a speed bump to any January football hopes.
In a recent segment on NFL Network, various NFL analysts gave their two cents on bubble teams with the best shots at a wild card berth.
Noted quarterback guru and Super Bowl-winning coach Brian Billick thinks the Bucs have a decent shot.
“They are a team that is getting better,” Billick said about the Bucs. “We are getting the defense we thought they were going to get under Lovie Smith. And Jameis Winston gets better and better.”
That is not all that Billick had to say. Watch more here.
As far as the next two weeks, the Bucs have home games against the drain-circling Dixie Chicks and the sad Saints. In some circles, these are must-win games.

It could happen, What also could happen is that The Buc Realist will win the next election and become the Mayor of Saint Petersburg. Running on the platform that we dredge an island in the middle of Tampa Bay and building all the new sports stadiums there. As a by-product linking downtown St Pete and downtown Tampa with mass transit by way of the the dredge sports island. The owners fought against it, But I won the public over by telling them they should have not named their teams “Tampa Bay”!!!!!

Playoffs?!

I believe it can happen. Sunday will show us how bad the team wants it.

If they do as I predicted and win the next 4 games (or even 3 of them) anything is possible.
Personally, I would rather they not make it if they cannot get two games deep. Nothing to show for that but a later spot in the draft.
Now if they can win the first game? Then I think it is worth it because that would be a powerful milestone.
Plus, a playoff win would really put The Buc Trollist in his place.

Playoffs? We don’t need no stinkin’ playoffs! We’re the Bucs!

Important for the bucs to be thinking and talking playoffs but it ain’t happening in 2015. Playoffs likely require running the table and some favorable tie breakers. If we hadn’t dropped the Washington and Houston games that were very winnable it would be a different story, but this year will be about a bad taste in our mouths being on the outside and hopefully it motivates the young players and convinces a couple key free agents we are a team on the rise

8-8 this season. Barfrealist: get lost!

I kinda/sorta wish Reporters or even you Joe..would not talk a lpt about our Bucs making a run for any playoffs. We are not ready just yet. There are..lots more mistakes comin as they say. Lets ust watch the games and give insight on how and where we need to…man up next year. If by some miracle we make the playoffs, then fine. But I’m not one for getting folks hopes up high. not yet..Not with this Defense. A few additions on D next year and we will be ready.

There are no real dominant teams this year except Carolina..NE..and possibly Denver. Green Bay is good not great..same for Seattle.
We MUST win the next two to have a shot. If we do anything is possible!!!
I agree with you BucBonzai except for the need to win that first playoff game.
If we get in it will be as the lowest ranked wild card and game one will not be easy on the road. But win or lose a playoff game would be a good building block for this team and expose them to what should become an annual tradition!
Go Bucs!

I was high on the Bucs playoff possibilities before the last game. It looks like a longshot now with the Bucs, even if they finish 5-0 they will need other teams to lose between now and then to get in.

@ Realist
If they can build a replica world of islands on Dubai, why can’t we have a stadium in the bay? Don’t bring up oil money, there’s no room for logic in this fantasy.
I’ve often thought that would be the perfect spot for a stadium.
December 1st, 2015 at 11:00 pm
oooo…a floating stadium! That would be truly rad!
Imagine the ocean breeze people would get. The only problem might be waterspouts?

Losing Kwon really hurts badly but the Falcons are fading and we will be back home for 2 games. These next 2 games will be critical. Again, the fact that we are talking playoff possibility in Game 12 is more than I expected. We always have trouble with ATL but I think now is the time to expose their defense.

Playoffs?! Get real people…Bucs are and always have been a joke..

Losing Kwon Alexander may not be as bad as everyone thinks? Alexander had five stops against the Colts but also had five missed tackles which added to his league-leading total of 25. Alexander gets lost in space as a tackler or he’s completely wiped out of a running play at the second level. The big issue is if Bruce Carter can’t play due to a concussion. Way to many missed tackles as a team in the last game. 10 in total, which is completely unacceptable at this level.
