Evans Paints Warrior Picture Of Will Gholston
December 11th, 2015How injured is starting defensive end Will Gholston?
Officially, per the Buccaneers’ injury report, Gholston is under the NFL’s concussion protocol. But Mike Evans dove deeper into the ailments of Gholston, and Evans admires the challenges his comrade is taking on.
“Will Gholston, man, he’s a beast. He’s playing with a, I don’t know what’s wrong with his leg. But he’s out there balling,” Evans told the Buccaneers Radio Network last night.
“He’s hurt. At halftime, I was getting an IV, and he comes in there and I could just see his pain. His shoulder got hurt or something during the game. He’s got his knee brace on. He’s dying. They got to take it off, wrap his shoulder. And he went out there and just did it and just kept playing. It’s crazy. People don’t see that stuff, man.”
Pretty cool take there from Evans, who it seemed was sitting in the trainers’ room at halftime watching Gholston go through hell. And yes, especially in December, NFL linemen are playing through all kinds of ailments. For many of them, it’s about taking in legal pain relief and pressing on.
Gholston, 24, is a player on the rise in his third season, and is coming off two sacks of Matt Ryan last week, a great complement to his shutdown ways against the run. The Bucs desperately need him Sunday.

If Gholston continues to blossom that means 1 great DE in the draft and we’re good to go on the DL.
Frees up a lot of good choices for the rest of the draft.

Between Smith and Gholston defenitely do not need more than 1 DE in the draft.

This just in on MSN.com:
“BIGGEST SURPRISE TEAM: TAMPA BAY
Quarter-season winner: Atlanta. Midseason winner: Oakland.
The NFL’s worst team last season at 2-14, Tampa Bay (6-6) has put those memories to rest with an unexpected playoff push. The defense is markedly improved from 2014 and rookie quarterback Jameis Winston has made tremendous strides under new offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter.”

One of his sacks was a result of a beastly bull rush from HoJo. Shoved the tackle right into Matt Ryan. He’s not just a speed guy, apparently. Looks like all our DEs are developing nicely.

William Gholston could be the most improved player on this team. I remember watching him in the Houston game were he was dominating the LOS. He bull-rushed his way to the QB on one play, then completely disrupted the run on the next. Gholston is as competitive as they come. He has always been very good against the run but it was special last week when he recorded two sacks. He is one of my favorite players and at 6-6 285, he looks massive and intimidating. On Sunday’s he paints his face with eye black, under his eyes in a manner like barbarian war paint. He has the look and plays like the warrior beast he is.
