Throughout today, Joe will bring you reactions from various players to the stunning 20-yard run by America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston. It kept alive the final drive that ended in a game-winning touchdown. Yesterday’s run by Jameis may have saved the Bucs’ season, as they enter their final four games very much in the hunt for a wild card berth.

“It was amazing. Just [Jameis’] will to win. Most quarterbacks probably would have tripped and fell. But he was bouncing off people, breaking off tackles. Made a spectacular play.

“He is just a special guy. I will go anywhere that guy wants to go. He is a fun guy to play with.

“It gave us another set of downs. We were excited about that. We knew we had to keep plugging away and someone had to make a play. Jameis made a great throw and Mike [Evans] made a great catch.”

    “Who wants a touchdown?”

Legendary words uttered by Jameis the Great.

  2. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Yeah Howard that will definitely be part of the legend.

    “Who wants a touchdown”

This kid is not only great he’s fun to watch and read about!

  3. Buddhaboy Says:

You have one of the most respected, gritty vets in the league saying he’ll follow Jameis. To me, that is ‘Score board’

  4. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    Joe,

Can you post Jameis’ presser after the game? People need to watch it. He repeatedly makes it about the team and not about himself.

  5. Chicagobucsfan Says:

This coming from a guy who played alongside Tom Brady!

Too bad that the so called expert analysts don’t seem to have taken notice. I was just listening to Terrell Davis on the NFL Network and he was saying that Winston hasn’t played well recently, suggesting that he’s being carried by the pieces around him AND the defense. Obviously these people don’t actually watch the Bucs playing, else they would know that without Winston we would have probably lost that game.

I’m kind of a Jameis Winston fan myself. He’s finally won me over. 🙂

Mankins knows talent. His overall experience has been a positive factor in the Bucs development.

  9. Buc since '74 Says:

    So I’m actually at the point of saying this out loud – though it has been brewing since the day we drafted my Seminole Famous;

I’ll take our QB over any QB in the league!

Am I saying that Jameis is better than Brady, Rodgers, Newton, Brees? No, not yet – but I would rather have this developing Star than any of the rest. Newton is one hell of a talent, but I’ll take Jameis! Kid is the real deal!

And how in the hell do these “experts” who evaluated NFL talent (I use the term evaluate very loosely) get a paycheck??? So many are surprised by Winston’s leadership, knowledge, will to win, and athletic talent. Really???? My blind dog could see that! idiots

Sadly, the NFL does not offer embed codes for its videos.

Winston/Seminole fans know that yesterday’s ‘who wants a touchdown?’ is not the first time Jameis as promised and fulfilled a touchdown to a specific player. In FSU’s 2014 season, WR Christian Green’s grandfather died and Jameis told CG he would give him a touchdown in that night’s game. CG had never scored a TD in his FSU playing history but Jameis gave him one that night. I mentioned this in a previous comment on another thread. What made Jameis and the FSU 2013 team so dominant was the trust they had in each other. Bucs players are still learning to believe that Jameis CAN DO what he promises, as long as the rest of the offensive play their parts. Understandable that putting that much trust in a rookie QB didn’t happen right away no matter what the Bucs coaches/players were mouthing each week but they are believing now! You can hear it in their voices and in their emotion when they speak about him and what he does.

Brate, Humphries, even VJax, they’re in. His OLine? His rookie classmates have been in from the beginning and the rest of the line are pretty much on-board. Sims and Martin? There. ASJ and ME need to believe in themselves first before they can go 100% in Winston.

This off season will hopefully seal it for everyone. Playoffs or not the entire organization can see what Winston can do and where he can lead if they will follow. If you believe Winston will fulfill his promises!

Well said Jena W. Go Noles!

  13. Wombat Says:

Was a fun day. Atlanta fans weren’t obnoxious where we were, and a great come from behind win. Chatted with a Pats fan who had on a NE Mankin’s jersey. He said he loved him and the fact that he wouldn’t take a pay cut for Kraft even though he did in his previous contract. Go Bucs!!

Yeah, but what does Evan Smith think?
