McCoy Talks Televised Spat With D-line Coach
December 15th, 2015Those pesky cameras. They’re always catching players doing things on the sidelines, or in bars, or in parking lots.
Sunday, it was Bucs defensive line coach Joe Cullen getting heated with Gerald McCoy. FOX cameras caught it. (It’s all right here) Things just about got physical when Clinton McDonald stepped in.
McCoy said in the locker room today it was “a disagreement” that “got heated” between him and Cullen that wasn’t exactly business as usual. But disagreements happen and it’s all old news, McCoy said.
Per McCoy, they talked after the game and McCoy called Cullen on Sunday night.
“You laugh it off,” McCoy said. “You know, I came in the meetings yesterday and said, ‘We still friends?’ I love him as a coach and as a person.”

If I were Cullen, I don’t know that I’m McCoy’s friend. GMC has a nice fat contract, so he’s not going anywhere. Our line is getting no penetration and putting no heat on the QBs we face. That’s a reflection on Cullen and GMC is a big part of why we’re not getting the pressure we need. If I were him, I’d tell Gerald that we can be friends when you figure out a way to get in to the pocket. Until then, I’m your boss and you’re not doing your job.

Sometimes things happen as a coach when you get frustrated as you perceive your players aren’t quite putting in max effort.

Maybe if the CB’s jammed the receivers at the line and stopped playing 10yds off every-time if would give their D-Line a lil bit of time to try and get to the QB, but nope lets play 10yrds off with no pass rush and let the WR’s run free down the field. It doesn’t matter what down it is 1st and 10, 2nd and 10, lets play 10yrds off and give up a quick slant for 7-8yrds and make it 3rd and short.
Even third and long is a gimme with this defense every week with their soft cover 2 without rerouting the WR’s gets beat over-top in the corner every-time b/c the safeties are always out of place without jamming the Wr’s to give the safeties time to get over this defense is pathetic smh.

I find it odd that most of you that post are not really fans!
You love to complain and point out others that don’t do well. I wonder what it would look like if your work was scrutinized as closely as an NFL athlete and see how YOU react. A bunch of negative trolls on this site. I rarely read the comments due to all of you immature people. I read this site less because I want news, not opinions of the writers. The radio show is almost listenable, except for the constant arguing!
I am a Bucs fan whether they win 2 or 12 games and I am happy to let the pros make the decisions about what to do with the team, rather than listen to some of you!!
Go Bucs!!!!

Really win or lose don’t say anything or your not a fan… PLEASE that’s BS.. Fans pay good money that they work hard for and watch a team play like that.. It is not that they lost it is that they played like school kids.. These guys make hundreds of thousands of dollars or MILLIONS like GMC.. They should play to their potential every game..

Watched the video (but didn’t have any audio on mine at least). Really hard to tell what triggered it since I couldn’t see what went on before that. In any event, you can tell that Joe Cullen’s really mad (OK, madder than usual) and isn’t backing down.
BuccaneerBonzai wrote in yesterday’s referenced story comments that GMC had been getting onto the DLine starters and that Cullen was essentially defending them like a proud papa bear. It’d be interesting to find out if that’s really what went on. As it stands, everyone seems to be just speculating at this point.

I really hate the jealousy fans have towards these players because they make a lot of money. Guess what, they make a lot of money because they generate even more money. If you have a problem with that, don’t watch football. If you can’t make enough money to be happy, get a new job. Become good at something. But don’t b!tch at them because they make more money than you. That’s the definition of a hater.
These guys put their bodies on the line for our enjoyment. Many if not most will suffer the consequences when they are older. It is their choice, but again, don’t be jealous because they have more than you. That’s your problem, not theirs.

This blog is in the business to make coin. How? Selling ads is #1. All the haters, whiners, bandwagon bozos, etc. help that cause. We true fans can get boring cos we support our team. However, even a bunch of devoted, long-suffering Bucs fans can get into a cyber argument. It’s a lot safer than one in physical space. GMC is playing hurt. He earns his money. We’ve got the usual swarm on here criticizing him. It’s funny cos a lot of them are just plain ignorant. 8-8 this year. Go Bucs!!

People pointing out that they are a REAL Buc fan are comical. That’s bitching and moaning.

The money is good point. I’ve been saying for years and years….
Why do we have to know their salaries? What’s the point? That should be private. Instead we know athletes make ton and it ends up being a division amongst blue collar fans

I would have loved to have seen Cullen try that with Sapp back in the day. You go Joe. You go.
December 15th, 2015 at 9:13 pm
I’m sure he was telling McCoy “you know your not supposed to just play patty cake with the oline man your supposed to actually try to go by him” then McCoy got mad .

Hate for McCoy is not his contract but his lack of production and he was sold as a leader and face of franchise. He’s not that and his production is regressing.

It’s nothing. Sapp often talked about he and Marinelli screaming at each other, he also screamed at Kiffin, and neither kept him from doing his job well.
