“I Love Him. I Really Do.”
November 23rd, 2015Gerald McCoy loves America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, but a reason might surprise you.
Asked in the happy Bucs locker room yesterday about how he good he feels to have Jameis as his likely quarterback for many years, McCoy replied, “That kid is great. I love him. I really do,” with a calm, reflective love in his voice.
“He came to my son’s birthday party on Friday. He didn’t have to do that. So I love him.”
Joe sort of ruined the tender moment by asking if Jameis brought a present, and McCoy said, “Of course he did.”
McCoy also went on to say how excited kids were to have Jameis there, and it really was an over-and-above gesture by the rookie. McCoy often talks about his son during his radio show. It sounds like the boy might be around 12 years old.
Jameis can’t seem to stop making deep, positive impressions on his teammates, and community leaders, and fans, and now the national media, who slowly is jumping on the bandwagon.
Marcus who?

Good Job, Joe, leading the Jameis Winston Mob. I was a guy who wanted Mariota and feeling pretty salty earlier in the year… Very happy to have been wrong and look forward to more Sundays like yesterday.

No way has McCoy got a 12 year old son. I guess it’s possible but the kid would have to have been born when McCoy was in high school or something.

much respect fartman for being honest and true buc fan… Because true buc fans just wanted the right man.. And I think we found him… Yes there are going to be some ups and downs, But we found ourselves a real football competitor and a winner… Lets go Buccaneers!!!!!

The people who knew Jameis for years also knew the rap on him was a bum one. He’s a genuinely good kid, and I stress kid. At 21 he’s a leader of men. Pretty impressive.

@cory..maybe your right…maybe jameis said this team needs both our leadership and we cant win without you…hopefully this will have a positive effect on this team and the play of gmc….GO BUCS!!!

Who cares how old his son is? Is he taking good care of him? I would say so. I’ve seen a lot of bad fathers who were much older.

@Bucs Fan, all of the JW haters simply didn’t do the research on him. I have no ties to FSU, but I ultimately don’t care where anyone went to school once they are in the NFL. I do care who the Bucs take and having the number 1 pick it was vital that they get it right. I scoured the internet and read as much as posssible all things Winston. It was clear early on that he was far and away the obvious choice. Thank God we no longer have Dominik as the GM as he would have passed on JW and we would have regretted that mistake forever. Thank you L&L for making the right choice. I knew he would be good, but damn I didn’t know he would be this good this quickly.

Joe no more softball questions for Gerald.We know Jameis brought a present.
Did Mrs MCcoy cook up some Publix crab legs for the birthday bash? Thats what america wants to know.

“I found out I was going to have a child the end of my junior year,” Gerald said, “and I had her two days before national signing day, my senior year.” He was 17 when he found out. He and wife have 4 children the youngest being twins.

@fartman – its nice to see that you’re not just a bunch of wind….

Joe, its Marcus MARIOTA ! Why do you insist on being an @#$%le by denegrading other QBs – calling them names, etc., -because of your SICK love for Jameis ? What did they ever do to you ? or Jameis ? or the Bucs ?.. (oh,that’s right, I forgot the first game this year)… anyway…could you please refrain from this misguided negativity toward any QB not named Jameis ?

Largosam. If you feel the need to write a paragraph for your boy mariota. Please go to their blog sites and just go become a Titans fan already. Mariota lovers just jump ship already go get your baby blue #8 jerseys. Go Bucs!
November 23rd, 2015 at 4:44 pm
F@Largosam….lol, calm down dude. We know MM is a good QB, but Winston was the correct choice for this team. I have watched every Buc and Titan game, and we certainly made the right choice. JW puts a massive amount of pressure on opposing defenses because of his mentality as a QB…JW goes for the kill. This is because of his full command on offense, film study, and physical tools. Mariota is running a basic offense right now. He is accurate and has a quick release, but look what happens if he attempts a pass pass 20 yards…lol. Yea JW was the right choice.

love this

#!: I am not a Mariota fan
#2: I think Jameis is doing great… I root for him and I am glad he is a Buc
#3: my point is, just because Joe(s) love Jameis, okay. But that doesn’t mean they have to (unprovoked) call every other woman UGLY in public !

LargoSamIM:
The word is “denigrating.” If you’re going to complain about the way someone is spelling something perhaps you should try spelling correctly yourself.
Now, it might be time to step away from the keyboard, you seem a bit too sensitive for the message boards.

@LargoSamIM –
All Joe said was Marcus who? Time to move on?
