“He’s Going To Be Somebody”
November 26th, 2015It was downright chilling to hear the words from Bucs offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, a man pointed and candid in his remarks.
Koetter really likes America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston. Who doesn’t? But that doesn’t mean Koetter is a cheerleader.
Koetter has praised Jameis in the past, as well as scolded him publicly. Nearly a month ago, just after the Capital Collapse to Washington, it appeared Jameis was getting better and better each game. And Koetter remarked with a smile on his face, “Jameis is growing fast.”
To his credit, no accolades have fazed Jameis. More often than not, when asked to compare his growth to another quarterback in the NFL, Jameis will remark, “I’m nobody in this league.”
That bring us to yesterday. Koetter, of course, was discussing Jameis’ five-touchdown game.
(Later Wednesday, Jameis told Rich Eisen that was a personal record; but in fact, Jameis threw for five touchdowns his freshman year at Florida State in a 63-0 rout over Maryland. Either Jameis was being modest to Eisen, or he has thrown for so many touchdowns in college that he lost track or truly doesn’t care about his numbers.)
At any rate, Koetter’s words yesterday rang in Joe’s head like those Salvation Army volunteers outside of Publix.
“I think shows him that he belongs in the NFL,” Koetter said. “Jameis likes to say he’s nobody yet, but he’s going to be somebody. At some point he’s going to be somebody.”
Whoa. It still gives Joe goosebumps.
To be fair, Koetter wasn’t quite ready to start polishing Jameis’ bust in Canton. Koetter noted last Sunday was Jameis’ high; the Carolina five-turnover game his low. Koetter admitted he hopes he sees more games from Jameis near his high rather than his low.

Thank u tbbf.
So glad Jameis got his low out of the way week 4. Not that he wont have struggles. Tom Brady struggled mightily just three days ago. But with Jameis’ mindset, im convinced his rookie woes are clear of any valleys unless/until We make the playoffs. Then its like a whole new game again.
So nice to be able to rep my Bucs this thanksgiving, and not get spit for it from my piroge eating Stiller fan family.

Joe,
You need to take Koetter’s comments and put them over the music of America the Beautiful.

LargoBuc…lol I make a KILLER meat pierogi. Actually so good I’m thinking of going into business with these suckers. Had a friend try one the other day, and now he wants to order 200 of them for some banquet his company is having. It’s my grandma’s 180 yr old recipe. One bite and you’re hooked.
Oh well Happy Turkey Day everyone.
I’m thankful for of course….Jameis Winston and my grandma’s recipe that I recently acquired.
