  1. Clodhopper Says:

I voted little confidence. That’s subject to change one direction or the other based on the next couple weeks. He has the opportunity for my confidence to grow

  2. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

A couple weeks ago I would have said negative infinity confidence… but the fact that he has turned the secondary around lately has changed my tone. Little confidence. And as Clodhopper said. Subject to change

  3. Tampa Tony Says:

Playing 3 backup qbs in a row will help inflate fans confidence in Loser Lovie 6-19 doesn’t inspire too much confidence.

  4. Buccfan37 Says:

I went with confident, all off the win over Dallas.

  5. Eric Says:

    Totally confident.

As I have been since he was hired.

    Excellent job IMO.

  6. D-Rome Says:

I am and have been very confident with Lovie Smith and the direction of the Buccaneers.

  7. 813bucboi Says:

TOTALLY CONFIDENT….I was one of the very few that voted totally confident last week…GO BUCS!!!

  8. D-Rome Says:

Playing 3 backup qbs in a row will help inflate fans confidence in Loser Lovie 6-19 doesn’t inspire too much confidence.

Many other teams in the NFL have played those same backup QBs. Injuries happen, kinda like the Bucs don’t have three of their receiving weapons.

  9. Buc1987 Says:

Confident …for now. He’s got a few in game adjustments to work on for me. I like the way the D has been swarming to the ball the last 2 weeks. I am actually seeing improvement. I’ll bash him when the bashing is warranted.

    This isn’t Lovie’s team anymore anyways. It’s Jameis Winston’s including the D.

  10. The Buc Realist Says:

I voted for “no confidence” , But that is because there is nothing lower!!! 2 squeak by wins against Blake Bortles and Matt Cassel is all the home wins in two years, To say I am not impressed is an understatement!! While I said a week or two ago that lovie was improving on somethings, It was about almost 20 games in the making for that change!!!!!!

The good news this year is that the schedule is incredible soft and the bucs will finish higher than they should, which means we will get to see if Licht can actually draft without being in the top 10 draft!!!!

Bad news is that we are going to waste another year with lovie!!!!!!

  11. Tampa Tony Says:

D-Rome-What other team has played 3 backup qbs in a row and lost to another QB who is no longer in the league?

  12. Trubucfan22 Says:

87 with a vote of confidence? My oh my how things change so quickly.

  13. Couch Fan Says:

Lol. Easy to see how desperate the fans are for wins. A win over a bad team doesnt change anything for me though. Win 2 in a row then we can talk.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo tried to vote but TBBF had already voted. Pablo now knows what some of Pablo’s undocumented friends feel like not being able to vote. And if you are wondering what Pablo’s vote would have been……the same as his friend TBBF…of course!!!”

  15. PRBucFan Says:

Arrow’s pointing up for me I can’t lie.

Voted confident for the first time.

The way he’s handling the roster lately has been impressive. Especially the way he’s handled the secondary.

Maybe Banks will get a look at safety.

  16. bryan Says:

I had him on the hot seat a few weeks ago. Very pleased at the moment. Defense is a pass rush away from looking like the glory days defense.

Joe! How about a story on Banks. What is going on there?

  17. bee Says:

Ehh…the jury is still out. The season is far from over and I’m waiting to see if Lovie will stay aggressive or go turtle again. We’ll see. Like someone else said, win 2 in a row, get a win streak going. Get a wildcard birth. Blow a team out. I still have little confidence but keep winning and my confidence will grow.

  18. BUCutalkinbout Says:

    Confident here!
    I still say 10-6 Let’s go!
    YO JOE!
    GO BUCS!!!

  19. Miguel Grande Says:

I’ve upgraded to confident. I like that the defense is jelling. Someone has done something to improve the offensive line and there were less penalties.

Some one is doing something right.

  20. GerbilsGoneWild Says:

Little confidence. We seem to forget how the defense dissolves big leads. I like some changes, but lost faith in the true tampa 2 defense. Only way that changes if we lose lovie. Still should drafted mm. But Winston showed some great character. Mm still better qb. But I’d very much love to be horribly wrong.

  21. k1ngadroc Says:

Confident – stopping the run, playing better pass d, creating some turnovers. Most of all, players are starting to BELIEVE they should win! hmmmm, wonder why??? Everyone needs to rally around our new leader….. an do tha whip

  22. MadMax Says:

I upgraded from last week from “no” to “little”. Only because changes are being made. As bad as Dallas sucks, we shouldve won that game by 14 or more…..and with our weak schedule, we had better finish .500 or Lovie is probably gone!

At the very least we need to go after a competent DC. Anyone with me in hiring Rob Ryan? I think his players let him down more than anything. I believe he’d be a great pick up for us!

  23. orlbucfan Says:

Rob Ryan? You gotta be kiddin’ me. I’ll take Lovie over him in a nanosecond. I voted ‘Confident.’ The hiring of Koetter is why. He’s proving to be the BEST OC the Bucs have ever had. Par none. ST is improving. D is getting more aggressive–looking like Buc D always looked even with all the injuries and player turnover. I’m watching the tandem of David and Alexander mature. That pair will be a monster. Go Mighty Bucs!!

  24. Jon Says:

I’m confident in Americas quarterback, not so much Lovie

  25. Patrick in VA Says:

I feel like there should be a differentiation made between our confidence in Lovie and our confidence in Jason Licht as it relates to building the team going forward. I’m sort of meh about Lovie. He’s sort of fine, I guess. Nothing terribly special. I think that the future success of our team depends on Licht continuing to crush it in the draft.

  26. Espo Says:

I don’t think the poll should be taken seriously. Someone suggested hiring Rob Ryan. Clearly the votes will be tilted one way or the other by the mentally insane, uninformed, or flat out stupid.

  27. Espo Says:

    @ Max

So, Ryan’s players let him down in New Orleans, but here Lovie is incompetent? Why the double standard? And why now after our defense is finally showing improvement?

  28. JackinJersey Says:

Joe, are you going to organize the parade down Dale Mabry when the Bucs go 8-8, NEXT year? Lovie MUST go!

  29. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

So 92.55% have at least some confidence in Lovie.

    7.45% are mostly obvious trolls.

  30. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Tampa Tony Says
“Playing 3 backup qbs in a row will help inflate fans confidence in Loser Lovie 6-19 doesn’t inspire too much confidence.”

Considering backup QBs have been beating us since Raheem Morris was coach, beating them now shows improvement. Contrary to what some people seem to think, you can’t expect a lot more in the first half of the first season of a new offense.

Things will improve sporadically from the last game on, leading to a much better season next year.

  31. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

By “the last game on” I meant last weeks game, not the last game of the season.

  32. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

So far as the defense, it will get better when it is addressed in the draft. Until then, it is going to remain spotty. It will have up days and down days.

Best we can hope for is that during the process, they discover promising talent to reduce the draft needs.

  33. Idontwannahearitanymore Says:

I’m one of the “mentally insane, uninformed, or flat out stupid,” so I upgraded my vote to “Little Confidence” meaning I have some confidence, but not a lot.

The biggest surprise to me so far is Lovie’s willingness to clean up the roster even as we are making comments on this blog. That still won’t help improve his ability to make meaningful in-game decisions, but it is a step in the right direction.

As long as the scouting system Licht has installed keeps producing results (and I think it will), we still need to keep an eye on Lovie trying to pick up every free agent he has ever known. The sooner he stops depending on these has-beens, the sooner he can concentrate on getting the players he has to perform to the best of their abilities. Even if that means going to more man-to-man coverage with occasional blitzing to obscure D-line weaknesses.

  34. Rob Says:

Same vote that I’ve been making all season. Confident. Lovie, Koetter and Jameis could be putting something special together. Lovie was willing to rotate the roster on defense and its starting to improve. Lovie needs a full draft and off season to get his defense in place.

  35. cometowin2 Says:

Upgraded from no confidence to little confidence over the last three weeks. Got to give him credit for changing up the secondary. Another week of that defensive performance with no serious game management issues and I will be confident. Rooting for you Lovie!

  36. Buc1987 Says:

“Best we can hope for is that during the process, they discover promising talent to reduce the draft needs.

Bonzai…that’s exactly where I’m at right now.

  37. Buc1987 Says:

If Lovie takes us to 5-5 I’ll certainly shut up about him altogether.

  38. Buccfan37 Says:

I love it when Lovie wins. Hell stand a cardboard cutout out there. If it wins I’m in.

  39. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

“As long as the scouting system Licht has installed…”

I believe its the same scouting department that was here before Licht came along, isn’t it?

Perhaps he changed how it operates. I have no clue. But I know Lovie made the final picks in the draft. Licht filled needs in free agency.

I’m sure they work together to an extent, but the way to fulfill a coaches vision is by letting him draft as he likes.

As to the other needs, the coach provides a list of positions and the GM seeks out the best talent possible within the price he’s willing to spend.

THAT’s why I really don’t get why half of the people here blame Lovie for the free agency mishaps and give him no credit for the draft picks. It is completely backward from hos it works.

  40. MadMax Says:

    @ESPO

you’re drinking a lot of the coolaid my friend. Have at it. My point is we need a DC. Lovie is the HC! We all know every successful NFL team has a competent DC.

We all know Leslie will probably be gone soon. So forgive me for being a tard and looking forward and looking towards a COMPETENT DC hire!! lol, get yer panties out of a wad dude.

  41. WalkdaPlank Says:

Just can’t vote confident yet. Beating a 2-7 team by a thread because they handed the game away with a holding penalty and beating a good Falcons team by a thread because your defense blew back to back 17+ point leads and they gave the game away with two bobbled exchanges and a throw into triple coverage just doesn’t convince me that Lovie can save this franchise.

I’ll admit that there is progress. Especially on the offense. But they just don’t look in control to me. Lovie and his team seem to sit on their hands and hope for a win every week rather than go out and take it. I just need to see more. Maybe a dominant win against Philly and a 5-5 record would be reassuring, but this team was dangerously close to being 2-7.

  42. Buc1987 Says:

WalkdaPlank …yeah I’m right there with you too. Good points. I’ll tell ya my vote of confident was razor thin for the very reasons you just stated. I could have very easily voted little confidence. It won’t take much for it to drop all the way to no confidence though.

  43. Espo Says:

    @ Max

Suggesting the man responsible for the worst defense EVER wasn’t the best recommendation.

You’re right though, I bet Leslie is gone after this season.

  44. MadMax Says:

Did a little more searching and you’re right ESPO….

Stats are nice but I think we shouldn’t look any further than the Saints.
