“Very Predictable”
October 21st, 2015Joe’s about ready to vomit his Egg McMuffins.
How the hell could three renowned football gurus sit around and discuss how dreadful the Redskins and Kirk Cousins are yet all three pick Washington to beat the Bucs?
That’s what you’ll find in the CBS video below, featuring ex-QB Brady Quinn, prickly Pete Prisco and former Jets coach and personnel chief Pat Kirwan.
Quinn has studied up-and-down Kirk Cousins and believes Sunday will be an “up” day for the Washington quarterback, who has a 4-11 career record and a whopping 27 interceptions. Quinn says “a very predictable defensive scheme” will be the tonic four Cousins.
Damn, that’s not much respect for Lovie Smith the NFL’s fourth-ranked defense. That’s right. The Bucs are ranked fourth after Monday night’s Giants-Eagles game.
If the Bucs lose this game, there will be many again praying to the idol of Raheem Morris, the man who preached stats are for losers — and led the last powerful Bucs team.

Joe, one has to wonder if you are taking these clowns too seriously. Video after video, their analysis of the Bucs goes, “that rookie troublemaker Jameis Winston who throws lots of picks” and “that old, predictable outdated Cover 2.” Outside of draft time where Prisco sctually does some research, Id recommend not making them a weekly feature on your site.

We need to be less predictable……blitz more often….send everyone…..make Cousins hurry his throws…..
I believe they are right….we are predictable…..we have a soft spot in our coverage between the LBs & S…..and our cornerbacks haven’t been anywhere close to the recievers……might as well blitz them.

4th ranked means ZERO when you are second to the last in the league in points allowed and have 2 wins against fellow bottom feeders… rankings mean nothing. wins and losses all that matters.

Trap game, been saying this all week. We should beat the skins, we could beat the skins, we must beat the skins, but will we?….. I hope so. For Lovies sake. I’m also concerned about Dashon Goldson throwing a dirty blow and trying to our players, hope they don’t send him on a QB blitz, he might take Winstons head off.

If your just looking at some stats, you can see where they would give the skins the edge. The skins have played a much tougher schedule than the Bucs. Four out of 6 teams the skins have played have a .500 record or better (and they beat one of those teams) while the only winning team the Bucs have played is the Panthers. Skins score 16.33 pts per game and allow 18.83 pts per game. The Bucs score 22 pts per game and allow a wopping 29.6 pts per game.
Stats don’t really mean crap but for those talking smack on TV, you can’t really see why the Bucs would be favored. This is going to be a tough game for them. It will be interesting to see what intensity the Bucs come out with.

*hurt our players

Washington has the #8 ranked defense so stats are misleading.
Analysts know loser Lovie has issues adapting his scheme
October 21st, 2015 at 10:06 am
Thats weird considering we have not played alot of cover 2 this year. Kinda seems like they’re not even doing their due diligence and picking against Tampa because its easier and there is no repercussion by disrespecting the team, its city and or its fans.
October 21st, 2015 at 10:12 am
They all picked the Jags over the Bucs too!

3 dash 3
Come Monday

They may as well be picking their noses. The entire Bucs crew are on a mission, well rested and ready to extend their streak of one.
October 21st, 2015 at 10:25 am
I for one am not sleeping on the Redskins or any other team.
They’re right the def is predictable. The reason the bucs won last week is bc Lovie blitzed more than ever. Jenkins even blitzed when he wasn’t supposed to which led to an interception. Blitz led to the fumble TD. Blitz led to 6 sacks. And Bortles still had a career day. Let’s hope Desean Jackson doesn’t play or else we are in some deep do-do.
Does anyone know who the starting safeties will be? Is it wright and swearinger?

Praying to the idol of Raheem Morris?????? Id rather throw it in the volcano pleeeeeeease can we finally rid ourselves of that dark dark time in buc history.
October 21st, 2015 at 11:01 am
tmaxcon- rankings do mean something. We are 2nd to last in scoring Defense. We improve that ranking, we will improve our win total.
October 21st, 2015 at 11:26 am
Nick3…Raheem did have a 10 win season. So I’d have to say last season was MUCH darker than any season Raheem coached. Or did you forget about last season?

OK a trap game is not what a team that is favored to lose would be running into… Be it as it may… This is a winnable game that can appear to optimistic fans as a trap game however… So as fans let’s not get trapped into this idea of it being a easy win…
I will say this much… I am so optimistic that I think we should be able to run the table in with wins and this game will go a long way into the confidence needed to pull off such a feat… We need our D to play inspired and shut down a team to show they are worthy of a top 5 ranked D… I think many of them woke up and said the same thing we all did when we saw they were ranked 4th!!! They said REALLY WOW…
THAN, they said let’s prove it!!!
24-10 BUCS take it to the bank
October 21st, 2015 at 11:45 am
Our defense is so bad I could actually see Cousins having a carrer day
October 21st, 2015 at 12:15 pm
The Redskins are a storied franchise that simply will not lose to the Bucs in back to back years. Look for Gruden to shred Lovie’s simplitic, passive defense to a vistory. Coly McCoy or Cousins. It really doesn’t matter.
October 21st, 2015 at 12:44 pm
They picked us to lose because that’s all we ever do. You can’t make predictions about Tampa Bay. They lose games they should win and lose games they shouldn’t win. I am a bucs fan. I want us to win. I am sceptical every single week no matter what. I much prefer to not be picked to win. I like flying under the radar. I personally think we can and should win this game, but will we? You never know.

Quinn picked the Bucs over the Panthers then he picked the Jags over the Bucs. The keys to this game will be in the trenches and if Winston does not turn the ball over. The Redskins Center Josh LeRibeus allowed three total QB pressures and the six combined rushes on either side of him went for just 13 yards (2.16 yards per carry). The Redskins are 0-6 in games when LeRibeus plays on more than 17 percent of the team’s snaps. The team has been outscored by 45 points and thrown six interceptions in LeRibeus’ two starts. Guess who will go toe to toe with LeRibeus? GMC! LG Spencer Long, RG Brandon Schreff and RT Morgan Moses are all struggling. LT Ty Nsekhe (replacing an injured Trent Williams) played a decent game last week. RB Alfred Morris’ only gained 21 rushing yards last week which represents the fourth lowest rushing total of his career. Pierre Garcon caught a red zone touchdown pass against Darrelle Revis, which was the first TD allowed by Revis this season. There starting CB are Will Blackmon and Bashaud Breeland. Bashaud Breeland incredibly intercepted a pass, forced a fumble and recovered two fumbles against New York, and he did all of that in the first half. Former Buccaneer FS Dashon Goldson recorded a team-high seven solo tackles and 13 total tackles in the game. The defense blitzed a season high 12 times and on 43 percent of New York’s drop backs. Every week the Skins are doing well in the first half, then the other team makes adjustments and the other team comes from behind to win. Hopefully Lovie learns how to make adjustments? Hope DeSean Jackson does not play. The Bucs will control the line of scrimmage and if they can establish the running game and keep Winston under 25 attempts, they have a shot.
October 21st, 2015 at 1:05 pm
Someone better guard Garcon. I’m more worried about Washington’s run game and them scoring every time they get into the red zone. Which, every team the YUCS have played have been able to do.
October 21st, 2015 at 1:20 pm
There is no argument that this defense is predictable. None.
Controlling the clock, protecting the football and not squandering scoring opportunities will give us a decent chance to win.
It’s on the offense IMO.
October 21st, 2015 at 1:27 pm
If we are Top 5 in yards given up and almost last in points. Its clear the QB is throwing a lot of picks.
October 21st, 2015 at 2:53 pm
It is a predictable scheme. The QB throws it, the receiver catches runs about 6 yards and the CB who watched it happens makes a tackle. Repeat….. Until these CBs can get in a position where they’re contesting passes, its going to be a long flippity afternoon
October 21st, 2015 at 4:39 pm
4th in defense, but next to last in points given up. What that means Joe, is that we may not give up much in yards, but as an opponent, when you do have the ball, prepare to score. I’m sure you don’t think that’ nothing to gloss over.
October 22nd, 2015 at 10:00 am
I like how stats are used to slant things whichever way you want. Next to last in points could also mean 2 interception touchdowns and numerous turnovers giving opponents a short field to score. Also, in their 2 wins, they had big leads late and gave up meaningless points with their prevent defense. Big play mistakes were other scores. Maybe they can be eliminated with more experience. That’s my slant. I think this defense is much improved and the Redskins will get trounced.
