Lavonte David: “They Get Pissed As Much As We Get Pissed”
September 10th, 2015Superstar, $10-million-a-year linebacker Lavonte David has endured nothing but losing since arriving in Tampa in 2012.
In fact, the Bucs are on a shameful 7-31 run right now.
David was asked to describe Bucs fans in the locker room yesterday at One Buc Palace and replied as follows:
“Loyal. A lot of loyal fans. Obviously, they get pissed as much as we get pissed, but they’re loyal,” David told Joe and other media. “They’re going to stick with you no matter what.”
Yes, David feels your pain. Bucs fans might be a bit soothed to know David is confident the losing ends Sunday. He also likes the intelligence and confidence of Jameis Winston, America’s Quarterback, and repeated that Jameis was what the team needed.

The losing ends Sunday? Maybe we’ll get a win, but the end of losing records is nowhere in sight. No one in their right mind would call the Bucs a contender for anything but a top 5 draft pick. I’m hoping we can develop our rookies and get through the season with minimal injuries. Next step will be canning Lovie and hiring a coach with an imagination who can get his guys to play hard.

Lavonte gets to play with Kwon instead of Mason Foster and I am sure he is happy for that. Mason Foster is no longer in the league and he was our STARTER… I sure am pissed about THAT but I am excited that we’re shedding the dead weight. Hawk Goldson, Mason Foster, Mark Barron. These were OUR STARTERS.. Yeah that pissed me off for sure.

The problem isn’t the guys don’t play hard, it’s that they aren’t good enough. You can put that on Lovie if you want and I would partially agree with you, but I’ve never really seen a lack of effort. We seem to keep rebuilding every year no matter the coach, and that’s what really needs to stop. Every time you hire a new coach, they gut the roster and start over. This is the very reason why teams that continue to hire and fire coaches continue to hire and fire coaches – because you can’t win gutting your roster. If we can Lovie as you want, the next “imaginative coach” is just going to get rid of players as well, and the cycle will start over again. I’m not saying Lovie shouldn’t be fired with another season that resembles last year, but it’s way to early to discuss that. For now, we need to assemble talent and let said talent mature and grow together. That’s the only way we will ever see light at the end of this tunnel.

@ShutTheBucUp Lol. May be time to get a cup of coffee and paint some pretty trees with Bob Ross.
Call me a homer but I am damn satisfied with this team as it stands. We have a promising QB, more than competent OC who has experience masking deficiencies on the O line, and what I consider to be a much improved defense personnel-wise (KWON!). The team finally feels like it has direction, and I recommend yall get a new perspective on our boys.

If by no longer in the league you mean the starting middle LB for the Bears, then yes, he is no longer in the league. Google is your friend buddy!
September 10th, 2015 at 1:04 pm
Did the Bears resign him I read he was cut last week?

The only thing some JBF commenters are loyal to is there own redundant negative narratives and end of the world jump off a bridge type fan rants

@HawaiianBuc
Mason Foster was cut by the Bears to get down to 53 buddy….. and the Bears have one of the worse defenses in the league…. I’m actually starting to pity Lovie. He probably has a picture of Mark Dominik’s face in his bathroom so he can piss and sh!t on him all DAY!!!

“It’s as simple as that” -Lovie Smith aka “Where’s Mason Foster and Mark Barron at!?!?!”

ChanEpic
You strike me as one of these people that expect a pro owner at every position. You see a highlight of some player on another team and think bei a way better than someone on the bucs.
Newsflash- Mason Foster is a pretty good LB.
The Bucs roster has been turned around. They need depth at OL and DE and DB but otherwise they are well on their way.

@Bucsfaninchina I hear what you’re saying. Some guys do give it their all, but when I see our guys constantly getting blasted off of the line of scrimmage, it makes me shake my head. Lovie’s defense sucks. Point blank. He hopes and wishes for takeaways caused by pressure, which we can’t get with a 4 man rush. If we send an extra guy, the outdated Tampa 2 gets picked apart by anyone with a brain. He needs to loosen up his stance on defense and get creative. Or get lucky and find the second coming of LT or Sapp. GMC isn’t going to win you football games.

Realist…lol you really LOVE that video man.
September 10th, 2015 at 1:27 pm
Mason Foster is an average MLB
…..he was serviceable
I hope Kwon turns out to be our next “Shelton Quarles”……but of course faster
September 10th, 2015 at 1:35 pm
@buc1987
I do love it!!! I think it is a great idea and will bring drama to the end of games!!!
Can you see a couple of seasons from now, Jameis just scored the go ahead touchdown, with 40 seconds left on the clock he is on the side lines pumping up the defense yelling ” Don’t let the ship sink!!! and “Protect the ship!!”
September 10th, 2015 at 1:47 pm
LOL “Don’t let the ship sink”
September 10th, 2015 at 2:05 pm
Agrees with ShutTheBucUp as the problem is not the players, but the HC. This team is 25% the team from 2014 so if they still struggle, it is all on the man who assembled the team. If Famous Jameis throws picks and stumbles over his two left feet than that is on Lovie.
Aside from the players….in what way did they improve game planning? Where is Lovie a better time clock manager? If we have any hope at all, it will be with the new OC. I can only believe he will improve the offense regardless of whether Famous Jameis is the real deal!
September 10th, 2015 at 2:25 pm
I’d be all for the ship sinking in losses that’d be hilarious lol
September 10th, 2015 at 2:29 pm
I was watching “Do your job” last night. Bellicheat said “players win games and coaches lose them”. It’s like I always say “a good craftsman never blames his tools”. A gifted craftsman with inferior tools will often produce better work than the mediocre craftsman with the best tools.

Dave – I don’t quite know what you are talking about. Mason Foster isn’t in the league anymore, but when he was here he was a starter. I don’t expect pro bowlers at every position, never ever ever said or thought that AND I think you’re making the same point I am. A ton of people who started for this team are down the depth chart on other teams or not in the league anymore. Due to that fact and others, it’s obvious this team is on the right track. And to focus more closely don’t you think players like LaVonte are pissed they had to play with sub starter, starters like us fans were pissed at watching them (not) play? Between posters lambasting me by saying Mason Foster is still in the league when he isn’t and other posters putting words/sentiments in my mouth/head it’s a wonder we’re fans of the same team. That said, GO Bucs!
September 10th, 2015 at 2:49 pm
Where is this Jameis had bad feet crap coming from? You people are the most negative fans in the history of earth! This team has improved in so many waits is not funny and yet no games have been played and you morons are already ripping the overall #1 draft pick. I watched every game he played at FSU and not one time were his feet an issue and all through the draft process his very were not an issue. Then be gets stepped on by an olinemen one time during a preseason game and he had bad feet. Again anyone dating these kind of things are complete idiots. Also come Sunday at about 8pm they will be eating their words.

My glass is half full because right now we’re tied for first place in our division. Half empty glass admits we’re tied for last also. My point is, enjoy the optimism. There’ll be plenty of time to piss and moan later. Enjoy the moment. Stranger things have happened.

@Hawaiian
Your Google must be FUKD up. LMFAO!!! He got you on that one🙊
September 10th, 2015 at 5:40 pm
OK, I don’t know about you, but I actually want to see our team play a real game that counts before spewing the garbage I keep seeing in these comments. Preseason was a lot of testing personnel. It’s as simple as that!
September 10th, 2015 at 5:56 pm
Yeah, I admit, I screwed that one up. I seriously did google “Bears 2015 depth chart”, and it had him starting. My apologies, now I’m going to be quiet for the rest of the day to avoid embarrassing myself anymore than I already have.
September 10th, 2015 at 8:09 pm
Hawaiian – No need to be embarrassed. We’re just talking. 🙂
