Jameis Vs. Mariota
September 8th, 2015For Bucs fans, it is the season opener. The opponent is the Titans (Joe really wants to use the shortened version of “Titans” which is similar to what “Jags” is for “Jaguars.” Alas, Joe runs a PG-rated site).
But to those outside of the Tampa Bay and Nashville areas, aside from two horrid teams playing each other, it is not the Bucs vs. the Titans, it is Marcus Mariota vs. America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston.
So leave it to urinal picture-taking, video game-playing, Taylor Swift-listening, pickpocket-thwarting, Bucs-uniform-frowning, Allie-LaForce-smitten, Big-Ten-Network-hating, pedestrian-bumping, olive oil-lapping, popcorn-munching, coffee-slurping, fried-chicken-eating, oatmeal-loving, circle-jerking, beer-chugging, cricket-watching, scone-loathing, college football-naïve, baseball-box-score-reading, NPR-honk, filthy-hotel-staying, fight-instigating, barista-training Peter King of theMMQB.com and NBC Sports fame to chime in.
King decides to break down both Mariota and Jameis based on their preseasons. He has his analysis in a theMMQB.com video below. Enjoy.

Where’s the video Joe. I can’t upload it, although it may be my device.

It is Mariota versus Winston to everyone who thinks they are racing in a track meet, engaging in arm wresting or how about darts a game of tennis? For the rest of us with half a brain, who realize that Football is a team sport, it is just the Bucs versus the Titans.
September 8th, 2015 at 5:20 pm
So, I guess this is also a game that features Mike Evans vs. Harry Douglas & Doug Martin vs. Bishop Sankey……should be interesting matchups….
September 8th, 2015 at 5:20 pm
Well said, rayjay!!
Team that makes the least mistakes walks out a win.
September 8th, 2015 at 5:20 pm
I’m all in for Winston now, but it is amazing how right I was about Mariota. And not a bit of props from the low down, dirty rotten, blinder-wearing people who said I was all wrong about him.
Shame on you.

If Bucs win this game, they have a chance at going 3-5 in the first half of the season…which is really good considering how rough the schedule is, how inexperienced the OL & QB are, and how injury-prone our new veterans on defense are.
I’d take it…since I think we can win more than that in the second half of the season…which would put us at 6-8 wins. THIS year, I’d be very happy with that.
Of course, I’d rather be wrong and go 11-5.
September 8th, 2015 at 5:31 pm
We are going to go as far as our Oline can take us, and I’m afraid is not very far. But the again you never know in this crazy league.
September 8th, 2015 at 5:33 pm
What’s up with the Garfunkel picture?
September 8th, 2015 at 5:35 pm
Bonzai I’m getting really sick and tired of your negativity dude, what makes you think Mariota is that much better than Jameis? Give Jameis a better protection and you will see what he can do. Anyway Bonzai if you gonna come here and be a troll do us all a favor and go away
September 8th, 2015 at 5:41 pm
The weatherman is calling for a 60% chance of rain for Sunday from an advancing fall like cool front that may not get here but the clouds and rain in front of it will. The Bucs running game must be effective with no fumbles, likewise the Bucs D must stop the Titans run game. I know weather forecasts are often wrong this far out but I think rain will benefit the Bucs in this game. Let it rain.
September 8th, 2015 at 5:41 pm
@Bonzai,
What exactly are you right about with Mariota? I’m confused. I’ve always said I think both are going to be good QB’s (although I believe Winston will be better), but there is no way to determine any of that now, nor after Sunday, nor after the first year. RG3 was rookie of the year. Everyone thought he was going to be great. Things change, and we are far too early to make any proclamation about anything. I wish people would let things play out a little bit before putting people in the hall. And yes, that goes for people saying similar great things about Winston.
September 8th, 2015 at 5:42 pm
BuccaneerBonzai…you were just called a troll. lol
Btw…you’re still wrong about Mariota.
September 8th, 2015 at 5:45 pm
Hawaiian Buc…correct sir. Because Mariota could be rolling out this Sunday and get blindsided by Kwon or LVD and be out for the season….
Ya never know!
September 8th, 2015 at 5:52 pm
Buc1987 please preach to them.
September 8th, 2015 at 6:01 pm
The schedule is actually the weakest in the NFL. Only seems rough due to how far we have fallen.

This is profoundly tiresome. So are your comments about the Mike Glennon Mob, Milk Cartons, Bar-B-Q Loving etc, etc ad nauseam. Please try to think of some things that are actually humorous that you can use to waste column inches
September 8th, 2015 at 6:11 pm
First off, I’m done making excuses for the O-line just because they’re rookies. Zack Martin & Travis Frederick came into this league and made the pro bowl in their rookie years.
Second, Bonzai maybe wait until these guys start taking meaningful snaps in games that count before you break your neck trying to fellate yourself

CreamsicleBananaHammock…lol
September 8th, 2015 at 6:15 pm
Mariota will run circles in the rain against this team. Without a pass rush Marcus will eat up the Cover 2 gaps. Winston is the better leader though and hopefully will steal it late in the 4th quarter. That’s what #1 picks are supposed to do.
September 8th, 2015 at 6:24 pm
Leonard Scarnesi …simple solution is to just not come here. lol
I got your back once again Joe.
September 8th, 2015 at 6:30 pm
Unless I misread this somewhere I think the Bucs have one of the easiest schedules in the NFL.
September 8th, 2015 at 6:30 pm
Bonzai what are you right about he hasn’t played a game yet?
September 8th, 2015 at 6:56 pm
Uh D-Rome that statement about the rough schedule is accurate. Unfortunately the Bucs are forced to play an NFL schedule rather than an NCAA division 1 schedule.
September 8th, 2015 at 7:02 pm
Speaking for Pablo
“Pablo says….”don’t pick on Bonzai”…..Bonzai has a cool name….so does Ndog, Yungry & CreamsicleBananaHammock. Pablo love all his JBF posters and wants there to be harmony. Pablo says “Can’t we all just get along” (Pablo thinks someone else said that first)……we all can’t be perfect like 87.”
September 8th, 2015 at 7:04 pm
Buc1987…I keep coming here hoping to one day find a scoop about the Bucs that hasn’t been reported elsewhere earlier. and better. So far, no luck.
September 8th, 2015 at 7:44 pm
The real question on all our minds Is that Peter King or Pointdexter from revenge of the nerds?
September 8th, 2015 at 7:45 pm
Is it Sunday yet?
September 8th, 2015 at 8:02 pm
Leonard, i thank you. Joe you might lose the lady photos as well. All your readers are not ten year old boys

Wow, after 4 preseason games, Mariota has been okay. You truly are an all-knowing genius. Clear out space for him in Canton.
September 8th, 2015 at 8:24 pm
Bonzai, you are absolutely right. All we got from this crowd of Winston jocksniffers, FSU rose-colored glasses crowd was that Mariota was a bum and not worthy of being selected in the draft as #1. Truth is, even though it’s pre-season he has shown way more talent than Winston, and it is getting ad nauseam listening to all the “it’s the O-lines fault”. Winston was supposed to be able to make he O-line better. Remember 87, ndog, and all you rude Mariota bashers? After this weekend all you bums should consider never commenting ever again, cause it’s fr’n GD apparent we picked the wrong QB
September 8th, 2015 at 8:46 pm
Preseason performance does NOT predict regular season results.
We will know by Sunday night what we have.
September 8th, 2015 at 8:52 pm
I don’t know about you guys but if the Bucs lose I am heading for the Sky Way Bridge! The sky is falling…
September 8th, 2015 at 9:21 pm
LOL last time my family and I went over the Skyway bridge on vacation, my vehicle overheated right before I got to the top. You guys know how narrow the emergency lane is. Kids thought it was awesome. Wife was terrified, I was ok, the road rangers rock.
September 8th, 2015 at 9:48 pm
Lmao guys- 2 things
1. Winston is the QB of your team, so you should want every QB we play to be awful cuz he’s not Winston and not a Buc. Real recognizes real, duh.
2. If you don’t like how Joe runs his site with pics or posts, then pound sand. No one asked you to come post so if you have nothing better to do, let’s see one of you try getting more hits than this site lol. You chose to come on it and I bet the Internet had no other options…#yourproblem

Buccaneer bonanza
How can you be right about Marriotta when he hadn’t played one down yet in s regular game ?
September 8th, 2015 at 10:16 pm
D-Rome.
Exactly. The schedule is very easy because they kicked out with the division’s they are playing this year. There is basically 3-4 games they cannot win. The rest are winnable. They are not going to win them all, but they should have a chance to
September 8th, 2015 at 11:35 pm
Who the hell is Leonard Scarnesi?
No one cares Leonard…beat it.
September 9th, 2015 at 8:19 am
No. I have been waiting for a scoop from JOE for so long that I don’t want to miss it at this point. If it ever happens.
September 9th, 2015 at 9:36 am
Its only Jameis v Mariota to the sheep that eat up everything espn hands them, which usually shows only on side to fit what they’re selling.
It should be a good game. On paper I think the Bucs are little more talented, but I wouldnt be surprised to see Mariota shred us with short precision routes and three step drops that my nightmare right now.
For Jameis we have todo just that. They will not let us run or throw deep
