Rock Stars
August 28th, 2015Yes, when Joe mentions “rock star,” folks around these parts immediately think of former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik. Not all agree.
Take stud wide receiver Mike Evans. He has a different definition of rock star, and that would be Johnny Football and America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston.
Obviously, Johnny Football won’t be playing for the Browns tomorrow night when Cleveland comes to Tampa Bay due to a sore throwing elbow.
You see, Evans has played with both. And Evans explained to Pat Yasinskas of ESPN what it’s like to play with two of the biggest college superstars to blossom in recent years.
“They’re rock stars,” Mike Evans said. “Johnny was one of the best college football players ever. And so was Jameis. They both won the Heisman and there is a lot of hype that goes with that.
“Playing with Johnny was crazy, but Johnny knew all the attention came with the territory and he handled it all really well. Jameis gets the same kind of attention and he’s been a pro with the way he has handled it.
Jameis “doesn’t really get on social media or anything else too much. He just talks straight football. He doesn’t talk about the outside world or anything like that, just straight football.”
There is yet another example of someone talking about how Jameis is all football, all the time. It’s unreal. Whether it is Lovie Smith referring to Jameis as a football junkie or Kenny Bell talking about Jameis falling asleep in the wee hours of the morning calling out plays. And now Evans, gee.
Joe just hopes Jameis doesn’t get mentally fried.

don’t know how mark Dominick got that rock star title apparently someone has to have the title at one buc place but for potential rookie starters from this years draft with Kenny bell slowly making progress to eventually take over this year, if this team has a great win loss record then Jason licht will be getting alot of shine after this season is over

Dude must be one hell of a poker player.

If Dominik is considered good at all by his peers, he will get another GM job. The proof is in the pudding.
If he’s smart, he’ll seek out a contract specialist / capologist type position.

Johnny Football will get to shuck and jive on the sidelines, why all the excitement over him, I missed it, all the hoopla and why. Is he charging for autographs? It’s a shame he can’t play since the Bucs will be facing so many scrambling QB’s. Evan’s is right, JM is the real rock star.

Gotta say, I love Jameis being off social media. Excellent decision. Smart move. Nothing good ever comes from it. Just stay away Jameis.
