Jameis: Test Me? Bring It!
August 1st, 2015Yesterday, new/old Bucs defensive George Johnson said the defense had a clear goal in training camp: rattle “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, in order to get him as prepared for the regular season as possible.
So this evening, when Jameis stood before the Tampa Bay pen and mic club before practice tonight — yes, more about that later — Joe asked Jameis for his reaction upon hearing defensive teammates are determined to test his mettle. Jameis had a simple message.
In so many words, Jameis said, bring it on, pal.
“I love that,” Jameis said as his eyes lit up and he stood a little taller. “That’s how you have success. When you are competing, when the ones [are facing each other], that’s the thing about football: It is the competitive atmosphere. You’ve got to love it. You’ve got to love the fight.”
Now that’s what Joe loves about Jameis. He’s not afraid of competition. He encourages it. He craves it. And he is right. In the immortal words of Ric Flair, to be the man, you have to beat the man.
The first step for Jameis is performing against an NFL defense, even if it is his own teammates on a practice field in August.

From what I understand…Ric Flair sucks a mean one. This is, of course, off the record. Good day to you.

In the words of the immortal Warren Sapp, “iron sharpens iron”
However in this case I’m worried it will be more like the stoppable force vs the movable object

Funny how all the sudden competition is now a good thing. I guess as long as it doesnt involve a certain #8. How strange…

He’s just like me, I love competition and challenges. We have something in common!

Couch fan. Dude you got jokes man. It’s not a competition between the WBs cause Glennon can’t MAKE it one. Dude doesn’t have it.

But our 25th ranked defense can?

Bucs going all out to pressure the QB in practice would be like a rattle trap shaking. heh

Some of you will really need to hit 75 North to 24 West every Sunday.
Barry has probably used that route with the cars he’s stolen.
Bless your hearts.

Enough with the tough talk… the NFL season is long and unforgiving…just shut up and win (not sure that’s possible with the train wreck of a team), but there is way toooooo much talk. I’m sick of the meaningless hype designed to lure the mush minded fan. No interest in that at all.

Even with the horrible OL we had last year the Bucs could have won another 4-5 more games if we had an OC that knew what he was doing. With an improving defense and a much better offense we can easily win at least 7-8 games this year. The OL will be a little better this year as will the offense which will give our offense more time with the ball, more 1st downs, and more scores…FIRE THE CANNONS.. lOOK FOR A FUN YEAR AND A TEAM WITH A LOT OF POTENTIAL FOR YEARS TO COME.
