Calm Down!
July 6th, 2015Joe has seen the reaction, though minimal, on Twitter and in the comments on this here corner of the Interwebs. And since the NFL is slumbering, what the hell, Joe will throw cold water on the paranoid conspiracy theorists.
No, just because Bucs co-chairman Ed Glazer dropped eight figures on a piece of property some two hours north Los Angeles, that doesn’t mean the Bucs are moving to California. Don’t be silly.
Three teams already have concrete plans for new stadiums in Los Angeles: the Rams, Chargers and Raiders. All three have made significant progress in planning moves there. The Bucs have made none. Zero. Nada.
Just for the sake of argument, if Team Glazer wanted to uproot the Bucs to Lipstick City, they would be at best fourth in line, and a distant fourth at that.
Besides, there are rumors percolating that the Bucs and the Tampa Sports Authority will soon announce a joint venture for upgrades to the Den of Depression, a project that Team Glazer will invest in, allegedly.
Do you know of any sane ownership group that would drop a significant chunk of cash on a stadium and then up and leave? Neither does Joe.
Look, Team Glazer has one of the sweetest of sweetheart lease deals for the Den of Depression. The Bucs aren’t leaving, folks.
Funny, a few years ago Bryan Glazer bought a pricey pad on the Gold Coast of Chicago. Joe didn’t hear Bucs fans freaking out about the Bucs moving to Chicago.
Those who think the Bucs are moving to Los Angeles are ignorant of what is actually taking place there with the Rams, Chargers and Raiders. Just a hunch, but the NFL doesn’t want four teams in Los Angeles. The NFL may not even want three teams there.
Relax. First training camp practice is just a few weeks away. Less than a month. In Tampa.

Th return of the Los Angeles Rams I can see them in the same uniforms.

I really hope the Rams move back to LA and switch back to the bright yellow and blue “throwbacks.”

I doubt if the Raiders or Chargers will be changing their team names, the city most likely from what has been said lately. I think Oakland and San Diego should keep their teams. It is odd that LA has no NFL team as large as it is. I agree, the Bucs are not going anywhere. Forget that! On conspiracy theories, I can’t recall the exact quote, but conspiracy theorists are ignored, then ridiculed and then accepted as fact most often. That applies to actual conspiracies, such as JFK, 9-11 and others. The Glazers buying property for some nefarious plot is ridiculous.

Maybe we are going to have to play the Rams, Raiders or Chargers next year. Having a compound so close to LA means saving hundreds on hotels…

Ed has lived in LA for years, they have a high end HD video conferencing setup there and he participates remotely using it.
