Jameis’ Strength Of Schedule
June 14th, 2015In an article by spreadsheeter Pat Thorman of Pro Football Focus that is mostly unintelligible because of gobbledygook, Thorman studies the strength of schedule for quarterbacks.
While he doesn’t go into detail, Thorman has the following to say about “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston.
Jameis Winston’s schedule is a walk in the park.
As David Lee Roth sang in “Yankee Rose” — which is actually about the Statue of Liberty — “Well, let me roll up onto the sidewalk and take a look, yes.”
Titans: Joe cannot think of a worse game for Jameis to start his career. Dick LeBeau is a Svengali of odd, strange and impossible blitzes, looks and disguises. For a rookie to go up against a LeBeau defense in his first at-bat in the NFL, well, that’s just cruel.
Saints: Slovenly Rob Ryan is another practitioner of bringing the kitchen sink with odd, strange and disguised blitzes. Another speed bump in the development of Jameis.
Texans: J.J. Watt and potentially a healthy Jadeveon Clowney against the Bucs offensive line? Not good.
Stinking Panthers: Should not be much of a concern.
Jags: Pppffftt.
Redskins: Again, ppffftt.
Dixie Chicks: Jameis should not lose sleep.
Giants: They have lost their bite in recent years.
Cowboys: Yeah, a solid if not good defense.
Eagles: The strength of the Eagles is offense, not so much defense.
Colts: Nah. Not much on defense. The Colts are all about Andrew Luck.
Rams: Excellent defense and a damned good front line. But will the Rams be mentally out of it by then, as it sure looks like this will be the last game in St. Louis for the team.
Bears: Always beware of a John Fox defense.
The season starts off nasty for Jameis but appears to ease up after a month. Thorman may have a point here, after the first few weeks of the season and the last two non-division games.

10-6 why not? We got a good defense too. Seriously, i like us for at least a wild card game.
YO JOE!
GO BUCS!!!

LeBeau or not if you can not beat the Titans at home in a season opener we are in for a very long season. The schedule this year gives the Bucs a chance to come out with an 8-8 record even with a rookie QB. Let’s hope they start strong or 6-10 will be the best we can expect.

@JOE
How are you writing off the Rams? They’ve beaten the YUCS with no QB. Now they have Foles who everyone remembers beating the YUCS too. Plus with that beastly defense. That’s going to be harder than the Titans game.

Let’s not forget Lovie Smith is 0-8 at RayJay

Future breaking news: Lovie led Bucs give coach first home win since, well ever.

Ray:
Didnt write off the Rams, as Joe pointed out, that is likely last game in St. Louis. Very possible heads won’t be in the game.

The Titans game is a must win, and not just because of making the playoffs. I’m talking about a total nuclear meltdown if Mariota comes in and kicks our butts and Jameis struggles. Roy Cummings said yesterday that’s Jameis has not looked that good, acurracy is off and he’s throwing behind recivers a lot, he even said that Glennon right now is the Better quarterback.

0-8 Lovie at home doesn’t give me much confidence. Lebeau, doesn’t have much to work with and Glennon light up that d so why can’t Jameis?

Schiano won his first home opener.

Unless you meant Lovies Bucs and not the team…which you clearly did lol. No coffee yet.

If supersam is right, we’re screwed. I think he’ll be ok.

Don’t we already have a QB on our team put up 31 on Rob Ryan’s vaunted Saints defense? And didn’t he do it on the road? And isn’t our franchise QB better than our backup MG8 who has already diced and sliced Rob Ryan’s fat butt.

I thought this was a Buccaneers website? We have America’s Quarterback. Remember? Jameis is a winner. Remember all those 6 points or less games last year? 8 to be specific.
Titans – Buccaneers win by 4
Saints – Bucs should have beaten them twice last year. 11 poit 4th qrt lead in the first and we gave the second away to get Jameis. Sweep
Texans – Defense will shut down their offense. Bucs by 6
Panthers – Worst enemy. Split
Jags – Winston 4 TD.
Redskins – Winston to Bell. Bucs by 8
Colts – Luck outscores Winston. Bucs lose
Rams – Bucs should have won last year. Who cares about Foles. Bucs 3
Buc the Falcons – Split, Koetter does know there offense
Giants – Turnovers Bucs lose
Philly – Bucs cany stop De Marco. Bucs lose
Bears – No McCown. Bucs win by 7
10-6 Win the NFC South

Glennon owns Lebeau.

Lose to the Titans week one hilarious.

I totally understand you’re respect for LeBeau, however I do not understand your fear of him in this instance. It’s his first year in Tennessee and they don’t have the personnel to make a fast and smooth transition to a 3-4…and lest we not forget, the great Mike Glennon had no problem beating a LeBeau defense that actually did have the personnel in place to run his scheme…IN Pittsburgh. Not scared of the Titans.

Glennon is going to be the surprise!! Remember Foles? Glennon will light up the day and the night. We have 2 QB’s that are going to be in the HOF someday. Mark the WORDS!!! It will happen!!! Winston will catch Mike and Tampa will be back as in the GOOD OLE DAYS. It will NOT happen overnight, but watch for it, it will happen, and there will be NO letdown when the QB’s start. The football wisdom says you cannot have 2 QB’s, this could be the FIRST. GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!!
