Limited “Timidness” & “Laziness” For Mariota

Marcus Mariota got a backhanded compliment from one of his biggest supporters

As Joe wrote previously, reviews of Marcus Mariota at his University of Oregon pro day yesterday were mixed.

A huge Mariota supporter, Joel Klatt, the former University of Colorado quarterback and current FOX NFL analyst, was there and talked a bit about Mariota’s mechanics on display and his impressions in this FOX video below. Klatt’s review also was mixed.

(Klatt is really growing on Joe. He’s very underrated in the business.)

Joe knows one thing: if the Bucs do draft Mariota, then they better be prepared to sit him down for a full season while he gets NFL-ready and the Bucs build a decent offensive line.

  2. The Only Other Buc Fan in Montana Says:

I’m happy if we pick either one, though I’ve leaned towards Winston. Lets get OL in 2, 3, hell 4 too! We filled MLB.

  3. Buccfan37 Says:

Yeah, throw Glennon to the wolves.

  4. Pat Says:

I agree Joe…a definition of Pocket: The area created by the blockers to protect the QB. MM is better protected on the Side Lines than behind the O Line, for now…

  5. Posey99 Says:

    “Speaks volumes Lovie wasn’t there…”

Who was suppose to welcome our new free agent signings?

  6. ruggyup Says:

The only thing curiuoser than the Bucs circus is the Saints apparent residency in a mental ward.

  7. tmaxcon Says:

Mariota’s personality is much closer to Josh Freeman’s than the infectious personality of Winston. Having the IT does matter. Hell Mariota’s combine workout was better with Winston present. True leaders bring out the best of others. Winston even makes his competitors better in person see Mariota’s combine workout and how the wr were gravitating to Winston. imagine what Winston is going to do to his new buc teammates. Welcome to Tampa Jameis Lovie needs you.

  8. Jacko101 Says:

    Joes such a Hater

  9. Posey99 Says:

Not to mention who do you think is working with the free agents that haven’t been signed yet. Doesn’t it speak volumes that our GM made the trip to Oregon while in the middle of free agency?

  10. Pick6 Says:

Can you imagine the halftime locker room on a Mariota & Lovie led team? I can hear the crickets chirping. Somebody will have to set an alarm clock to make sure guys don’t fall asleep and miss he second half.

  11. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

This is all just noise for Bucs fans. The pick is settled. It’s done. Jameis Winston will be the next QB for your favorite NFL team with the worst uniforms in the league.

Put a smile on your face my brothers. Swagger, attitude and W’s are coming to Tampa once again

  12. tmaxcon Says:

Lovie is the gm and decision maker not Licht. Licht just has title unless a powershift took place. Dallas so eloquently States Licht is king Lovie’s lap dog.

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Lovie had to stay home and sign all of his previous players….every player thus far.

  14. tmaxcon Says:

To bad bears didn’t have a throw away lineman for Lovie to sign.

  15. 87ForJameisNOMariota Says:

Perhaps Lovie stayed home to remodel his basement for 2016.

  16. iamkingsu Says:

This will be my breaking point if we draft this bum. I’m sick of tired of saying this I saw him play live when they came to UVA season before last. He did not look up at the defense not once pre snap because they are rushing to get the play off.

There were a few times where after 1st downs they were lined up and set to snap the ball before UVA’s players who made the tackle could get off the ground. That’s not football and quarterbacking. Kudos to the coaches that’s who needs to be coming to the Nfl not Mariota

  17. Bucsfan4lyf Says:

YEH! Let’s draft a QB that had to rely on his running game and defense to keep games close while he threw 18 INT’S in the season. He’s also lazy and only thinks of himself…

    PASS!!!!

He also lost to Mariota and had the worst football play in college football last season; fumble on 4th down (clutch?) that was returned for a TD

    #MariotaorBUST

Please don’t tease us like that. It will be the happiest day of my life when that fool ends up back in basement. The money I will save in anger management therapy alone will allow me to buy drinks and lap dances for the choir boy crowd. I’ve never hated a coach more in any sport than I do that Hypocrite fool.

  19. WS99 Says:

Too bad Paea Marshall Hester n peppers didn’t follow lovie. At least we got conte and a back up 3tech. Nicely done if I can say so myself. #puresarcasm

  20. Nybucsfan Says:

@joe why Jameis so much fast or is his release faster? Jameis has had a bad line? I thought last year in the draft FSU had a lot of line drafted. I don’t mean any disrespect but I don’t think you know anything about quarterbacks. Look at your track record anti mob than pro mob, pro JF5, pro johnny football

  21. 87ForJameisNOMariota Says:

iamkingsu …exactly what you just said. My screen name used to be OR Mariota and then I studied there offense a little bit more and said HELL no.

If I’m running a business I’m hiring the person I have to train the least to do the job. It’s as simple as that.

  22. Couch Fan Says:

I cant wait til we draft Jameis and finally have a QB that the fans of our division rivals will hate just as much some of you. Lol

    Welcome To Tampa, Jameis.

  23. BigMacAttack Says:

I’m with CBH, let’s get rid of these awful uniforms.

  24. bucs4lyfe Says:

Going out in free agency to sign depth is much different from years past when going out to sign help in the form of overrated starters. I think lovie knows chris conte better than anyone in tampa…..but your right something is wrong with his evaluating skills because he kept leonard Johnson and mike glennon on the team for 2015

  25. lurker Says:

“Hell Mariota’s combine workout was better with Winston present. True leaders bring out the best of others.”

this is a nice and different take. winston even makes mariota better.

  26. Eric Says:

    Lovie is evaluating just fine.

    Were on the verge…..

  27. WS99 Says:

Conte, lol. Safeties give concussions not the other way around. We had a pretty good backfield two years ago. I can’t imagine any of you see this as an upgrade.

  28. lurker Says:

    via rotoworld:
Steelers signed QB Ben Roethlisberger to a multi-year extension.

We’re still waiting on the details. Roethlisberger’s deal was set to expire at the end of 2015. Big Ben is coming off his best season in years, finishing with the league’s third-highest passer rating. 33-year-old Roethlisberger’s new contract should allow him to retire with Pittsburgh.

  29. lurker Says:

winston’s throwing motion is like big ben’s. hmmmmmmmmmmm

  30. tmaxcon Says:

    Eric

If it was not for ex bears needing prove it deals Carter was the only one willing to play for King Lovie. He has made a bad team worse and will put the bucs through a slow painful death like he did bears. He will produce a couple of good seasons surrounded by mediocrity. I’ll be on social security before he wins a super bowl

I’m with you brother. I feel like the Browns now. Is it me or does no one want to play here? I think Mariota tanked his pro-day on purpose. I’m kidding but I’m really not.

  38. robert 9 Says:

wow, what a twist there joe. they said they EXPECTED these things, and were surprised not to see it.

    nice try though

  39. tmaxcon Says:

He might of. I guess you could call it tanking for sucess. He knows he will be more successful if he drops to Kelly. Nice conspiracy though. No crazier than some suggested here.

  40. iamkingsu Says:

You literally have to start from scratch with him lol. Teach him how to huddle, call plays, and take snaps from under center. People were really bragging about him taking snaps from center yesterday like he proved something when that’s not what nfl teams meant

  41. tmaxcon Says:

    Pcola

Thanks, now I need another blood pressure pill. That November quote put me over the edge with him. The we don’t need points was stupid but football starts in November that’s when I was convinced Lovie was a thief stealing glazer cash

  47. MTM Says:

Last year at this time Joe was pushing so hard for Manziel and we all know how that turned out. Now its 2015 and Joe is enamored with Famous Jameis who has a lot of red flags on and off the field. If the Bucs draft Winston and it turns out poorly Joe’s street cred will be heavily diminished.

  48. TennesseeAndTampaFan Says:

I pray to baby Jesus that Tampa takes Mariota. I like the Bucs as well and really don’t wish yet another QB bust for you guys, but I’m a Titans fan first and foremost and Winston is just in another class. How many of these spread option QB’s have worked out? Give me a smart pro-ready QB any day. Hopefully, if Tampa picks smart, Tennessee will go with Leonard Williams over Mariota, but alas, I fear the historical decision making of the Titans is even worse than the Bucs. I fear that they’ll take Mariota and he’ll just be another Jake Locker.

  49. SteveBucsFan Says:

Nice try Robert 9, he really did say he was lazy and timid. Comprehension is your friend… I know its hard for you.

You could really see how timid he was in his interview too. Like a deer in headlights…

  50. Dr Feelgood Says:

Joe’s street cred is fine. Otherwise, you all wouldn’t keep going to this site. If you are so upset by his takes, then stop going to the site. He loved Manziel, but also wanted us to take Teddy B or anyone else deemed franchise QB worthy. His takes on most things Bucs are spot-on, which is why we all frequent this site. Anyone who thinks MM is a better prospect than Winston is not looking at the grades that the experts are giving. MM did not beat Winston in the CFB Playoff. Oregon beat FSU, just like Oregon beat alot of Pac 12 teams. MM was a great college QB, but when experts are saying you look like you can acclimate to taking snaps under center, you are not worthy of the #1 pick. TennesseeAndTampa fan gives the perfect take to illustrate what most think about the two QBs. I love Winston as a prospect and am NOT a Marcus hater. He probably will be good in 3 years if he’s allowed to sit and be groomed. Unfortunately, he’s going to the Jets, will be thrown to the wolves, and will shrivel when dealing with the NY media pressure. Winston brought his team back several times in two years, most notably on the game winning, last second drive to win the National Championship. Welcome to Tampa Fameis. This is gonna be a blast!!

I got it! Winston makes Mariotta better, Mariotta is the safer bet. Lets trade our entire draft from 2nd round down for the Titans #2 pick and take both of them????!!!? Then we’ll all be a happy Buc family! We could probably even put Marcus at WR if Jameis pulls away! J/K btw just getting worn out of our little civil war we got going on.

The Dolphins just signed Kenny STILLS???? WTF???? Why are we passing on all of these speedy receiver/return guys???? Lovie must REALLY believe Robert Herron will be ready to break out this season. Wallace will likely be cut as none will trade for his contract. Maybe Bucs can snag him up???

Kenny Stills was traded not signed.

    ahhhhhh…ok!!

I was really hoping for Jacoby Jones. I know Stevie Johnson is getting old but he certainly would not command much to sign…woiuldn’t mind seeing him come in to kick the tires. He ALWAYS has Revis’s number when they played NYJ. GET SOMEONE!!! Herron has potential but let’s not bank on him eh???!!!!

  61. TennesseeAndTampaFan Says:

    @tbaybuc

You’re having this civil war because you have a lot of Gator fans who would rather lose with Mariota than win with Winston. I live here in Florida as well, and when FSU is doing well and UF is doing poorly, a lot of Gator fans tend to scream and stomp their feet like children throwing a tantrum. It isn’t every gator fan, it’s just a loud sect of them that makes the fan base look like petulant children at times.

The jury is already out. Winston is the better prospect. You can’t look at what teams are saying and think otherwise, unless you think every single team is trying to sandbag every other team.

  62. White Tiger Says:

Looks like Lovie likes Kid Fameis, while either Licht or the Glazers like Mariota.

…we all know Lovie’s great history of picking QB talent. As I’m sitting here considering it – in both physical make-up and temperament – Jay Cutler and Kid Fameis are nearly indistinguishable (except Cutler is a few steps faster than the pedestrian Kid Fameis, and maybe a bit stronger).

So, the best QB Lovie’s ever acquired – is not really all that great a QB – yet he looks GREAT on paper.

It wasn’t all that long ago that the current “Pro Style” offense (…the West Coast Offense) was considered a “system” …and this system required a different (mobile) type of QB most teams did not value…but that was in a world where every college also produced the same type of QB and offense as the NFL – WCO is now considered “Pro-Style”…in reality, you either drop back 7 steps behind a big stationary line, adept at pass protect – or you drop back 3-5 steps behind a ZBS adept at opening up running/throwing lanes – always with a focus run or throw.

The NFL does not deploy complete “gimmick” or “system” offenses. Depending on whether the established offensive line (stationary power-man, or mobile ZBS) you are taught the concepts that fit the offensive philosophy. Seattle has adapted more spread “concepts” to it’s WCO.

I’ve heard “pretty soon, the NFL will figure out how to beat the spread” ..and I laugh, the spread has been around since before Tom Brady and the Patriots ran through the NFL – going undefeated in the regular season – only to be beaten by a miracle helmet catch. Guess what? The NFL hasn’t figured out how to beat it – because it’s now A PART OF THE NFL PLAYBOOK. The 4 top teams currently running some version of a “pro-style” offense with spread-heavy concepts – have taken the league by storm. The offense is more spread-friendly in the early stages of the newly drafted QB’s career – later the OC begins adding more WCO concepts. Some QB’s, like Kaepernick, struggle with the WCO concepts. Helfrich stated emphatically that he’s already added WCO concepts to his offense while Mariota was there. I watched the National Championship game and saw all the throws you Kid Fameis fans didn’t. I saw the changing of the plays, the audibles and the protections he called – that’ss what Helfrich meant when he said he allowed Mariota.

So please stop with the repetitive “system” QB crap…Kid Fameis is as much of a system QB as Mariota.

The problem for both QB’s is…Tampa Bay does not have ANY system. They don’t HAVE an offensive identity. They have players, they have coaches, but they haven’t had anything more than Jon Grudens WCO run by a host of no-name/nobody OC’swho have been patching and re-patching an offensive line, ever since the Bucs cut Jon loose.

The problem is, our o-linemen suck, and to run the type of offense necessary for Kid Fameis to succeed – you’re going to have to have an offensive line like Denver, New England and San Diego have…Dallas just finished rebuilding of their QB…it only took them 4 years to complete…

If you don’t KNOW that, then stop lecturing about tight windows or football IQ – it has ZERO value if the defensive linemen reach the backfield before the QB finishes his 3 step drop…

If you want wins, fast…you need a mobile QB (or 2 or 3) that can utilize the offensive line talent that’s currently available in the later rounds of the draft AND free agency…that’s it, that’s the argument in a nutshell.

If you want lazy and a lot of attitude: pick Kid Fameis. He’s already been “there” and he’s got almost the same type of “history” arguing with his own coach as Jay Cutler.

  63. Skyline Crew Says:

Have we signed Mariota yet? I’ll come back in a few weeks and check again.

  64. Buc Drunk Says:

Joe is really funny. I’ve been following his site for a couple of years now and I gotta say this Mariota hate is the most ridiculous. He has to sit? Why? But Winston should start if he’s the one? Don’t give the spread crap argument. Lots of them have come in and started and done well and none of them were better coming out that Mariota is now. But Mariota has to start cos he wants Winston.

  65. Buc Drunk Says:

    *Sit* not *start*

  66. Buc Drunk Says:

Why doesn’t anyone label Winston a system QB? Cos he comes from a so called pro style one? Didn’t Ponder, Manuel come from the same system? Why aren’t people talking about Winston being a product of the same system that got these 2 to be 1st round picks? But yeah, Mariota is a system QB. Every QB in the NFL is a system QB. You play your system to make it work. You perfect it. You work at it.

  67. THETRUTH Says:

EVERY PRO DAY IS THE SAME!!! people making news out of nothing.

Joe, Why do we have to sit MM?? xavier lee, ponder, manuel all pro offense and suck!!!!!

Its if you can do what your asked to and run the offense , again it was stated MM runs thru sometimes all 4 progressions at times. People watched 2 games in 4 yr career and think they know the guy. if thats the case Jamies will throw 4 picks every half and HE AINT COMING BACK FOM THAT IN NFL..

I like jambes more at this point but people ignorant when comes to MM

  68. TennesseeAndTampaFan Says:

    White Tiger,

Are you trying to say that football IQ and anticipation can’t help out your offensive line? Go tell Drew Brees how football IQ and anticipation can’t help out your O-line. Do you think it’s any coincidence that O-linemen, who were considered “great” in NO, have gone on to struggle elsewhere?

You talk about the spread, but the problem is that you’re trying to compare a spread offense that runs the ball most of the time and only runs a few routes, to a complex spread offense that would be similar to something that Brady or Manning run.

In these spread college offenses, the emphasis isn’t put on making progressions or being able to make all the throws. They look for mismatches and the QB tends to throw to his first read. This doesn’t work in the NFL because the talent is a hundred fold of what it is in college. You also have the problem of exposing your running QB to more hits in the NFL. Just look at what has happened to QB’s like Kaepernick, RGIII, and Cam Newton. You just aren’t going to make a living in the NFL running the ball with your QB. Everyone is too big and too fast.

  69. THETRUTH Says:

  71. MTM Says:

    @ White Tiger

    Great rant!

  72. TennesseeAndTampaFan Says:

    TheTruth,

I’m not sure what past history has to do with current players. I also think that you’ve heard of teams trying to move up for Mariota because he will come much cheaper than Winston. At this point, everyone expects Winston to go to the Bucs with the top pick. His football IQ has been compared to Manning and scouts are calling him the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck. Could he flop? Sure. He’s still a better pro prospect, according to the experts, than Mariota.

If the Bucs take Winston, like they are expected to, Mariota could drop to the 5th or 6th pick because the Titans, Jags, and Raiders took QB’s last year and have dire needs elsewhere. It’s a lot easier to trade up to the fifth or sixth pick than to move up to the first pick. At least that’s how I see it.

  73. Skyline Crew Says:

Wilson ran for 850 yds last year. Just saying.

  74. TennesseeAndTampaFan Says:

Wilson is an interesting case because he seems to be a lot shiftier than most running QB’s. He also played in pro-style offenses in college and can sit in the pocket and make the throws he needs to.

Not that Polian is the end all be all in player projection, but I heard him talking about Wilson’s running compared to what he called “long-striders” like RGIII and Cam Newton. It made me think about not just QB’s running, but how often they take shots while they run.

  75. Skyline Crew Says:

RG3 doesn’t know how to slide. He also has a me attitude and has alienated himself here on the Skins team.

  76. Pete 422 Says:

I agree that it speaks volumes that Lovie wasn’t there. I think it’s Winston all the way.

  77. Pat Says:

“Have you ever seen ‘The Matrix’?” Arceneaux said. “Remember the first time Neo gets in that chair, and they upload him with the kung fu, and he says, ‘More’? That’s the way Marcus was with our offense. Once we installed the base package, it was like he looked at us and said, ‘More.’ So every day, we kept giving him more.”

I think Marcus (at least in Joe’s World) is heavily under rated. We shall see soon. I see that he crossed paths with Manziel eons ago.

    @WhiteTiger

Nice post. Many here chafe at posts as long as yours and avoid them. Since MTV we’ve all been trained to have the attention spans of gerbils and critical thinking has become a joke in our society. We want hyperbole, fighting, and one liners.

I tend to look at a post as long as yours and like others I go wow…is this worth it.
I then look at the poster. Some have more cred than others but unless I have them in my buffoon category…a very, very small list…I start their post and see if they can hold my attention.

You certainly held my attention and made some excellent points. I largely agree with everything you posted with the exception of…

If you want lazy and a lot of attitude: pick Kid Fameis

I agree that Fameis has lots of “attitude”, argues with his coach, hushes fans and is generally a show boat. That’s never appealed to me either. But I concede even the worst aholes can be great athletes and sadly many great players are self absorbed jerks.

But I do not believe Fameis is lazy, in fact I think he’s a highly motivated incredibly competitive athlete. I say this as a Mariota supporter.

Other than what at least appeared as a gratuitous shot about laziness I agree with your post.

I’ve posted links that statistically show what you’ve been discussing. The NFL is morphing rapidly due to concussions and the need to preserve multimillion dollar investments (players) as well as make the game more exciting. The game WILL continue to spread and that’s just the way it is.

  80. Kyle Says:

white tiger is erroneous in saying winston is like cutler.

mariota needs a strong line more than winston, i would say, as i have seen winston escape from the pocket and make throws multiple times. as well as i have seen mariota get sacked, multiple times in one game, or not make plays when receivers are covered.

I judged NO poster here but simply made an observation about society at large that is held widely by many educated people and sociologists. I pointed out that many people do not enjoy long posts and gave some possible reasons why. IF the freaking shoe fits Luthursays wear it!

I also said…I tend to look at a post as long as yours and like others I go wow…is this worth it.

And so did I insult myself. I take great pains to not make my posts personal attacks. Tonight Eric made a post I did challenge personally.

I’ve never walked barefoot up any hill nor sold any newspapers. I have admitted to service in Vietnam but certainly never claimed I’ve fought in two wars. But I realize you have difficulty sticking to facts and elminating hyperbolic personal attacks. Does my service in Vietnam bother you? Bothers me it was the freaking dumbest thing I’ve ever done so I do not say that as a boast but rather to provide perspective.

And I NEVER claimed but you maintain that only readers of long posts have critical thinking,

I said critical thinking is not as valued in our society. It’s reflected in the many thoughtlesss cheap shots like the one you just took.

I completely understand and support the freedom of those who are here in a hurry to use their freaking scroll wheels. You do have one don’t you?

Joe is just running hit pieces at MM while trying to convince the readers that “mechanics are overrated.” The league belongs to mobile, smart QBs Rogers and Wilson. If the Lovie drafts Winston he’ll be watching his 2nd season from Fox’s LA studio.

    @spbf

my comments were in regards to many older generations dislike younger generations and state that they had it harder.

you like speaking tongue-in-cheek. you are very critical of people but say you never attack anyone. lol

“…society at large that is held widely by many educated people and sociologists.” another generalization and implication. where is your evidence and facts?

  87. lions Says:

@Sim Yeah Hah that’s good stuff, Joe can’t make it boring! Klatt said that Mariota looked good and I’m sure the people in attendance would agree. Only the Bucs would pick Winston a guy no one would ever trade up to get. Mariotta will make one city and franchise very happy. Hopefully it’s Tampa.

  88. Pat Says:

You think Mariota should be called King of the Screens? This will change your mind.

  89. danati74 Says:

Marietta looks like a young V. Testaverde. Someone that may get you to the playoffs, and thats it. Welcome WINston. 18 picks as he tried to do everything by himself in a prostyle offense, but 26-1 indeed.

  90. White Tiger Says:

@StPeteBucsFan – thanks, it’s true – I think Mariota is the pick because the trends indicate it…I don’t often post the technical aspects because (for now) there are a lot of liberal arts folks out there…and if a post is long AND it has math…well, might as well keep it to myself.

I would like to see your analysis – I’ll do a search for your stuff.

..regarding Kid Fameis, sometimes I mask my frustration with hyperbole. I should have used the word “entitled” instead of “lazy”. He has been the star of the show so long, I’m not sure he knows how to handle adversity?

…regarding the spread: you’re right, the smart teams will become relevant more quickly if they try to leverage the knowledge and skill of the available talent. Every college team is running some version of the spread…it’s hard to find the few that refuse to deploy a “system” their new QB can fit into…

@Tennessee&Tampa – anticipation and some ability to diagnose rudimentary ACC defensive alignment…ain’t gonna help an offensive line (hint: it’s why Napolean Dynamite is NOT starting).

Kid Fameis ain’t Drew Brees – it doesn’t matter how you where your rally cap.

As I said – the “air raid” concepts of the spread currently being run by Denver and New England are STILL versions of a spread.

So the spread is no good in the NFL? Huh, maybe someone ought to try telling that to Pete Carroll, Jim Harbaugh, Ron Rivera, and Chip Kelly – apparently they didn’t get the memo…

    “Speaks volumes Lovie wasn’t there…”

    Not really.

Dirk and Licht were there. All it means is that Lovie is letting Licht choose his quarterback.

  92. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

btw, they have not reported Dirk was there that I know of. I said he was there because I saw him talking with Mariota as they went to commercial break during coverage. Bucs shirt and all.

  93. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

iamkingsu Says”He did not look up at the defense not once pre snap because they are rushing to get the play off.”

First, you failed to see his eyes. Second…

“they are rushing to get the play off”

Have you ever even seen a Dirk offense?????

  94. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    tmaxcon Says
“I’ve never hated a coach more in any sport than I do that Hypocrite fool.”

I really don’t see your justification in that.

    87ForJameisNOMariota Says
“My screen name used to be OR Mariota…”

Oh, come now. Regardless of what your name “said”, you have never personally wanted Mariota. You have been nonstop Winston.

  96. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    tmaxcon Says
“He has made a bad team worse and will put the bucs through a slow painful death like he did bears. He will produce a couple of good seasons…”

Contradiction. Made it worse…but will produce?

  97. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    BirdDoggers Says
“Using the first overall pick on a QB that would more than likely have to sit on the bench for a year doesn’t make sense. Who’s the last QB taken #1 overall that sat on the bench their entire first year?”

Who is the last one that hasn’t turned into an elite passer?

btw…Rodgers was a spread action, rode the pine and look at him now.

  98. Skyline Crew Says:

Mariota doesn’t ned to sit for a season. He’ll be able to start day 1.

  99. RustyRhinos Says:

Wilson ran for 850 yds last year. Just saying.
Hey Skyline how many yards do you think he will have in the NFL with his slow 40 time and his extra girth, I don’t see him doing anything like that for whoever he plays for in the NFL.

  100. White Tiger Says:

Mariota & Fameis will both be ready at the same time. Fameis doesn’t gain you any additional short term success, especially NOT behind yet another patchwork line – and if you think his COLLEGE o-line sucked, just wait till he can’t throw because he has the fastest d-linemen he’s ever seen, smothering him before he plants his feet.

The lid gives you NO advantage in Tampa – NONE.. Thinking so only proves how little you know.

  101. White Tiger Says:

I just re-watched the 2013 National Championship game…and I LAUGHED when I saw it…EVERY play of that drive (except the final jump ball) had Kid Fameis in the shotgun…and he simply linked and dunked the ball up the field, typically locked onto one receiver and drilled it as soon as the WR was 5 to 7 yards from the LOS. The biggest play came on the second snap: Green runs 5 yards, turns around, and Kid Fameis hits him – then Green turns a 7 yard toss into a 40 yard romp.

Sure looked like his receivers did all the work for him!

    Oh, the irony.

    bucs4lyfe Says:
he kept leonard Johnson and mike glennon on the team for 2015
