As I understand it the victim didn’t show up at the trial following the appeal, so the conviction was overturned. And she was drinking and doing cocaine on the night in question.
If Mr. Hardy had a law license or medical license it would not be taken away for that. Maybe placed on administrative probation but he would be allowed to continue in those professions.
Morality police? The league where murderers and wife beaters have played in for decades? The NFL has no morality, if you aren’t in jail and have talent, you have a job in the NFL.
I wish I didn’t want us to sign him, but reality is, I really really want us to sign him. He could be the difference between us being a middle of the road defense to us being a top 5 defense. He and Smith on the ends with McCoy and McDonald in the middle would be pretty damn good, at least on paper. They would certainly be better than anything we’ve had since the glory days.
Eric put the whole thing in perspective. These guys are football players, not preachers. If the league allows him to play, let him play. And if he’s going to play, he might as well play on the Bucs.
What he does off the field is not my business. But I can see why the Bucs wouldn’t trust him long term. Sign him to a one year deal kind of like Revis with the Patriots.

They should open the prisons so the NFL teams can fill their rosters. There is likely some bad ass talent there. Get the commish on the phone.

I don’t think he is stupid and he knows this is his last chance in the NFL, so I expect him to be an angel except on the field.
March 12th, 2015 at 2:00 pm
This guy is a scumbag. I’m all about second chances, but the guy should be doing time and not making millions of dollars.
