So here we are, the Sunday before Christmas and it’s a Packers convention at the Den of Depression — Green Bay South.
Hey, what do you expect? The Bucs haven’t given fans any reason to come to games this year and Packers fans are escaping the long and brutal winter of Wisconsin.
Bang it here for your thoughts during the game, no matter how many picks Aaron Rodgers may throw, no matter how many sacks Da’Quan Bowers may have.

Today is one step closer to our #1 pick overall. Haven’t watched our commented since about the 8th game. I’ve enjoyed my Sunday’s a lot better than watching this crap. The only thing that scares me is that Lovie and Licht still have jobs when the draft comes around. If so, then I’m sure things will be just as bad next year because I’m sure that he will pass on a franchise QB in the first round. Also, If i a prospective OC getting interviewed I would demand either Mariotta or Winston with the first pick OR NO DEAL! thanks anyway but NO Thank you, I’ll wait until the next opportunity. Just sayin’…

Simply put we want all of the Bucs opponents or as many as possible to lose to weaken our strength of schedule.
We want the Giants to beat the Rams..the Browns to beat the Panthers and the Texans to beat the Ravens. But there are a number of scenarios in the next two weeks where the Titans “strength of schedule” as figured by opponents records could actually be worse than ours. I think we have a 3-4 game “lead” for being the worst losers.

Yellow fever already! I was watching highlights of the San Diego SF game and I swear it looked like a flag every play.
I could tell the refs where the put those yellow hankies. They’re ruining the game and challenging the NHL for having the worst officials in the game..
OK that last sentence was hyperbole. No sport has officials that are as horrible as the NHL.

So the regional game advertised here in Colorado Springs was supposed to be the Bucs vs Packers due to our proximity to Wisconsin but as usual the Bucs suck so bad they changed it to the Saints vs Falcons at the last minute. Going to go finish Christmas shopping for the kids and finish a garage project.

Many of the posters rooting for a Bucs loss are doing it for the sake of the team. I can’t possibly watch the game and hope for a Bucs loss. With that said, a Bucs loss is the best for our chances next year.

Story of our season. Defense is doing well against one of the best offenses in the league and the offense is abysmal. McCown is holding the ball like it has his credit card information on it and doesn’t want anyone else to get it

Watching Lacy….he’s a load. I’m not unhappy with our RB’s for next year but they all bring similar talents. Jevorskie Lane is a blocker not a runner.
And so who do we have to go into “beast mode” like Lynch or Lacy.
You guys know any beasts available in the draft. RB’s should be easy to find in later round of the draft.

The stable of RB’s we have is fine. Look at the difference in the blocking. Lacy waits for his blocks because he knows they will be there. Our O Line gets pushed back. Our backs don’t have that luxury.

Don’t disagree Cmurda. Our OL has been less than stellar this year. Everytime I’ve seen Mike James with any blocking I like him. He’s bigger and runs harder than our other backs. I’m not an expert though and I guess the Bucs have a reason to keep him off the field.

We may not be a winning team next year so…..if you have the opportunity…draft high a QB……have him on our roster as we build for the future. As we grow to become mediocre our draft position will fall and we will be sorry we did not draft that high QB when we could have.

Ronde has been beating the drum about how winning today could help us for next season. I do agree that Lovie is not playing to lose, simply his normal playing not to win but playing not to lose. He gives conservative new meaning.
But there is absolutely NO excuse to not play Glennon other than he’s trying to make sure MGM doesn’t get injured and damage his trade value.
Seriously. Can there be any other reason to not give Glennon the chance to do what McCown clearly has demonstrated he cannot?

They’ve decided Glennon is not the guy. There is no reason to play him. It’s Jameis and a bunch of lineman in the draft.
DQ is having his best day. Good for him. He obviously does not have the explosion in the knee to play end anymore. But he is turning into a nice rotation player at tackle.
The defense as a whole is playing great right now. But, three and out McCown and they get hung out to dry again.

OK guys…nobody realistically expects Jameis or Marcus to come in and turn this franchise around next year. However we don’t have enough QB talent to keep either of them on the bench and work on their learning curve.
How do you all see our QB lineup next year. Say we take one of the Heismans.
We can’t play McCown…he’s just Gawdawful. If we trade Glennon that almost forces us to throw the Heisman into the fire too soon. It can work out but it’s frightening.
So what…Jameis/Marcus starter…McCown backup? Or do we try and get another journeyman to replace McCown in that situation?

I’m still convinced that Glennon lost Lovie’s trust when he went on local radio on a Tuesday afternoon and announced to the world that he had been benched.
That totally goes against Lovie’s philosophy of saying only what the NFL forces you to say. So I think Glennon is being punished for his transgressions.

i’ve seen the bucs take mariota #1 overall by mcshay, who said winston is a possibility. then the titans take winston #2.
also read today the browns’ gm is enamored with mariota and might not be sold on hoyer/manziel. the browns have 2 mid first rounders (incl. buffalo’s) and would need to give up next year’s #1 to move to #1 this year.
i still don’t think we should trade the pick. but this is better than the philly trade…and we still might blow the opportunity for the #1 pick yet.

Walter Football has a compendium of mock drafts, at last check 82 different mock drafts.
About 30 have us taking Mariota about 5 Jameis, but if you do the math you see that’s only about half. The other half go with Gatrbuc and bucnut and the crowd that wants to hold off On QB. Leonard Williams DE is the next most popular top choice. That scared me because I can see Lovie wassting a pick on a DL.
Pick one of the Heismans or get a boatload of choices. Do not waste the pick on a defnseive player.

Guys.. we…are…trying…to…lose… Period. Glennon will only hurt his trade value by playing. I believe it is understood that McCown is to stink it up so we can secure the #1 spot.
Defensively we are getting a lot of reps in so the players get a feel for the system next year and I see steady improvement in the last quarter of the season.

i go to walter football closer to the draft. even though they are “mocks”, i do put more stock in some of the big names than the average joe with a blog. i don’t like bleacher report just for that reason.
i so hope the glazers overrule lovie’s impulse pick.

Bowers looks pretty darn good at 3 technique doesnt he? McCoy may be overrated….He ia quick but what lineman have been doing is letting him shoot a gap thsn just shoving him on his side creating big holes. At least Bowers is staying in his gap and not allowing big running lanes.
I would prefer us to trade back for a kings ransom of picks but I would not be against us taking Williams. Put on the Arizona game and tell me you don’t want that guy on your team. He is Richard Seymour 2.0 with a quicker first step. He would be a great strongside DE and would not allow the tackle to peel off on a combo block allowing our LBs to roam freely.

Well, we’re seeing what we needed to see. I thought moving Dotson to LT would help the whole line. Not the case. The defense is rolling. Not fair to the d how bad the offense is. I can see us drafting all offense again. We need some young studs on defense but our needs on offense are that glaring

Glad it’s working out the way it is. We’re seeing good things to build on with the defense. We can expect them to pick up Sicily where they left off next year. They’re not screwing up our #1 pick chances by winning. This offense is thoroughly being dominated, but we knew they sucked on offense. It’ll be addressed this offseason
